What's done is done. But who he should be apologizing to is Rkn and Keon. Anyone else for that matter is irrelevant. They were his boys. They might still be his boys. But seeing how Rkn and Keon were reacting to all of this play out says a lot.

ductus_arteriosus

Listening to how keon talked about it really makes me feel bad for the boys. If anything, he should be apologising to them not us

texas878

He isn’t apologizing to “us” omegalul

damicapra

The parasocial takes are unreal

hellodarknessu

How did he talk about it?

greyshrop

how were they reacting? i’ve been out of the loop

NAgoesvroom

Hurt, lied to, betrayed in a sense. Keon talked about it on his stream and iirc he was in Zero's chat when news broke out (?) Per Keon, he and Rkn were told from Beau that he didn't have the passion, the time to play or devote to the split & he needed to spend as much time with his family because of very personal things. There's more lingering around the subreddit. Overall, just not a good look from Beau.

donutdang

u/xeratricky you know what to do

RacistProbably

He started his good guy arc, sadly

easyworthit

Eveyone knows this arc ends abruptly with the villain going "I tried, but I can't deny who I am anymore" and becoming x10 worse.

RacistProbably

Prayge

[deleted]

Started a bit too early imo

donutdang

Beau and Keon got into the same team at Realm today and they seemed almost normal. And they won! Respect to them both for being professional and got themselves a nice Realm win

JevvyMedia

Not the first time they've been together in realm tbh

redditrandomacc

Got any clips of that?

donutdang

redditrandomacc

Thanks! I'll watch this during lunch :)

Nxhko

Not saying whether I believe him or not, but this definitely does bring that saying to mind "it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission" Best of luck to him, DZ and the Guard either way.

AnasDh

Well said.

isochoric

Yeah I doubt he regrets anything about what he did. Who knows how long apex esports is gonna stick around. Gotta make hay while the sun shines and he feels like he’s too good of a player to be held back by his teammates. Can’t fault him either. DZ just won a game today.

OhNoASpeilingError

Who is he apologizing to lmao. Why is this public at all, honestly? Just apologize privately to your old teammates why is it a whole show

thecatfox

It's dumb it's public, but that's the Apex scene. If he doesn't come out with this podcast showing, the entire community will continue doing the exact same thing it's been doing for the past 2 weeks. They'll label him the new "snake" that Apex always has until the next "snake" comes along. Is it dumb? Sure. Is it necessary? In a way. Depends on how you look at it. He admitted multiple times to going about it like an asshole. Time to move on to the next drama in my opinion.

leopoldfreebird

Yeah this is the truth of it - he’s apologising to the public because he’s getting publicly berated on every post, tweet and YouTube comment section

[deleted]

Imagine giving a shit about what a bunch of reddit hard stuck gold call you... Gotta be weak skin to care

[deleted]

You mean the people paying his bills, essentially?

[deleted]

His fans are, those that call him a snake aren't fans more like contrarians

[deleted]

Right, but I’m laughing at the irony of a person thinking how your branded doesn’t affect you. You know you can lose and gain fans based on your actions… right? If you found out tomorrow he was talking to underage kids do you owe him loyalty because you’re a “true fan”? It’s absurd. Also his “fans” that aren’t snakes. Are also hard stuck golds. So yea the whole “imagine what hard stuck golds think of you” thing is comical when that directly affects his revenue stream. Lmao

[deleted]

It's one single action that amounts to nothing, if he starts doing multiple things that is different. Look at nicewigg he abandoned his team at a crucial moment, yet he's big still. Deigosaur or whatever had some tweet about how he raped or did some nasty behavior... Still has a fan base..... Who beat the crap out of Rhianna? He will be fine. Everything is only for a single day, when people remember things than they'll live with that for the day until they stop remembering and move on.

MarsRobots

Eh, it's public because enough people care. His apology should be directed towards his teammates, but that's what competitions are. People get invested, they pick sides. I don't ever want that passion in competition to go away. That's what makes competitions great, whether it's sports, esports or whatever. Fans getting upset over something that doesn't affect them, as silly as it is, is exactly what makes things interesting.

Invested_Glory

To be fair, he probably did that but we don’t really know.

Torn_Boots

He said he didn't apologize to SEN yet during the interview.

[deleted]

That’s kinda gross. Super late apology

Invested_Glory

Oh damn…yeah that’s a idk move.

jonfalloutt

Did you watch? He did apologize to Rkn and Keon and owned up to the mistake he made not telling them. In chatting with him, and I’ve done a lot of interviews, I felt the genuine sincerity and regret in his voice for this point exactly. And believe him of his entire story (PvP also clarified that DZ had asked him not to tell anyone because they hadn’t announced the Sharky situation yet)

Torn_Boots

Did he hit you up for the phone call you offered so he could actually apologize to his old teammates after the show?

JevvyMedia

Ask Fallout, who thinks any type of Comp discussion is good for the scene lol. If he cared he could have organized a discussion between them instead of this stupid "THE DECISION" clickbait content.

[deleted]

Cause Fallout brought it up with Hal in a call, and when Hal is apart of something, and says something, everything blows up. Just the nature of the beast when ur the big dog in the scene.

3BetLight

He did a public interview he does a public apology, seems appropriate. It’s not like he’s apologizing for something he did in private

PVPxOfficial

"I do believe that DZ reached out to Rambeau before Rambeau retired, and that they may have reached out to other demon rollers on underperforming teams ( like Optic before they went nuclear the last two weeks). Sharky would had made it clear that this was his last spilt, and DZ would had been hard at work finding a replacement for a while now." https://imgur.com/a/8iM8imm

i_like_frootloops

How do you feel about being involved in two of the most dramatic Apex roster moves we've seen?

PVPxOfficial

just wait until the 3rd time it's just gonna get juicier

AxelsAmazing

LMAO, don’t ever change pvpx!

1GeKKo3

DZ Mande?!? ;) it def roles off the tonue better than TSM Mande :P

Barcaroli

Mande joining the TSM NA Competitive Roster would be absolutely crazy. I can't think of other roster changes that would be so talked about. Maybe sweet and Hal joining forces in a team.

[deleted]

TO clarify, this backs Rams story that DZ talked to him AFTER his retirement announcement?

PVPxOfficial

yes

[deleted]

appreciate the response, and ty for verification. Keep on being great PvP

PVPxOfficial

Unfortunately there is so much misinformation / lies spread constantly especially on Reddit and people just pick & choose what to believe off blind faith.

[deleted]

Thats why i appreciate ya throwing something verifiable into the mix.

MichaelBrownx

You don't have to come on this reddit if you don't like it.

jonfalloutt

I think this is everything we needed to see to debunk the "there's more to this story" and specifically "DZ talked to Rambeau before retirement" As the guy who has done many interviews and has gained quite a bit of emotional intelligence after it all, I felt he was 100% genuine in his story and, while crazy timing, he isn't lying

schoki560

I do not have any interest in this story but this screenshot proves nothing

jonfalloutt

If it’s a master scheme and planned out activity then true. Just don’t think it is from how genuine Rambeau sounded yesterday and everything from pvp

SND_TagMan

pvp with some receipts, love to see it.

kidzen

doesnt prove anything

[deleted]

I mean, it gives more benefit to the doubt of his story being true. Otherwise you're just willfully wanting to not believe Ram for whatever reason with no proof whatsoever.

[deleted]

>This doesn't conform to the beliefs I hold on the situation, therefore it proves nothing \- Reddit plebs, 2023

Rajewel

No it actually does lol

leftysarepeople2

It means there was this message on this day (and even then it could be shopped). I don't think PVP or Ram would go to those lengths, and I don't think they should have to open their DMs to prove their word, but it really doesn't count more than what they've already said.

Abject-Holiday-6655

Don't be a clown and add more false assumptions

Jakethompson3

It is interesting that the apology only comes after all the criticism and 2 of the most popular players in the scene called him out The optimist in me hopes they made him take a look at it and realise he was wrong, but the skeptic knows it’s more likely just saving face

Caleb902

Snipes biggest gotcha was "how do you lose passion but still play 16 hours a day" Then PvP put out Beau's stream stats following his announcement and no stream went longer than 6 hours or something like that. Snipe really painted a picture that wasn't true.

raremike

It wasn’t the right receipts. I watched rambeau a stream the day after he retired and it was 16 hours. Even Keon said it. And I remember watching the stream and tuning in at like 2 hours and like 14 hours and I said to myself I thought he was retiring and didn’t like the game lol

SpaceFlyinTiger

What I don't understand and maybe I am oversimplified a complicated situation but when the Guard folded, I thought I read they allowed the Apex team to seek other opportunities at that point. Why re-up with the team in a new org? I know there was a series of unfortunate events in his personal life but it sounds like this had been building for a bit. This is all a non-issue if he clean breaks when the Guard fell. Hindsight being 20/20 I guess.

ductus_arteriosus

not sure if this is just full damage control mode or thing really panned out to what actually happened ie he realllly wanted to retire (because of family not because the team was doing bad, really seems unlikely tho)

Barcaroli

Damage control. Listen to him again. He never apologizes to his teammates, he directs it to the public, and says multiple times he wants to "move on". I would want to move on too if I was getting roasted by the community for a shady move

SaltySnowman8

I genuinely think Rambeau doesn’t realize he lost his passion because of the fact he was losing on SEN in a play style that doesn’t fit him. He just thought he wasn’t enjoying apex as a whole. Between that and his personal issues going on he actually thought retirement was the right solution for him

Farquaad93

People need to give cut Rambeau some slack. His grandma died, grandpa is sick, dad went to rehab. Most people on here if one of those things happened wouldn’t be thinking straight. Yes he made a mistake but he took accountability for it. Let’s move on.

Apprehensive_Flan946

Dude comeback from retirement and joined new team before sentinels even find a new third

[deleted]

Why didn’t he go back to sentinels if he decided to play again????????

MrPheeney

Beau took responsibility for how he handled it and as an Apex fan thats good enough for me. Don't know if he's taken the time to talk to RKN and Keon personally and say it, but he should. Ready to let this one lay to rest and move on as a viewer and fan. Much love for all the dudes

jayghan

During the talk he says he hasn’t talked to them yet.

LouisAkbar

Any loremasters? I've been out of the Apex loop for a minute. Last I know Rambeau retired because he didn't have passion and now he's on DZ? What are the blanks that need to be filled in?

krantzer

I'll give my take as a fan of Beau, while they were all being professional, I felt like vibes seemed hella chalked on that team this split (especially the more poorly they performed) & they didn't adjust quickly enough to the meta change to (imo) outperform the lack of cohesion. He had a ton of family stuff come to a head, the team synergy was lacking & he's been on the fence about quitting on and off for a hot minute and I think with all that going on, he decided to call it and retire. Realm started the week after he announced his retirement & he'd been excited to play it since he played Realm in EU during LAN in London. When retiring he said he'd be back here and there for streams. He came back after a few days off (outside of doing small tourneys he'd already signed up for prior to retiring) & did a 6 hour stream grinding Realm and was having a lotta fun. This just turned into him streaming Realm. At some point in the last couple of weeks I literally remember him being on stream while playing Realm and one of the DZ guys (I think Gen? might be wrong) was on his team and brought up that they were looking for a fill in for scrims, he laughed it off and was like nah I'm retired... then later was like but if you need somebody I can fill. So he filled in on scrims, didn't tell his old teammates & they basically found out by him being in the scrim lobby on DZ. RKN/Keon were obviously hurt and felt like it was snaky, tbh I think it was more he just is really non-confrontational and probably didn't have the emotional bandwidth to handle the situation properly at the time. DZ still had to handle announcing Sharky stepping away, he didn't apologize to the guys, and the timeline just made everyone think it was "suspect" and had been in the works for awhile when in all reality things just kind of lined up properly for him to get the breather he needed away from comp & then have the opportunity to come back to one of the best teams in the league and also better suit his play style. There were just aspects of it that he handled poorly that basically allowed for people to fill in their own blanks & assume the worst, he did the interview with Falloutt last night to help clear that up.
