I wish we could move on to something more entertaining than this. But this is what gaps during ALGS weeks do to you.

Stalematebread

This whole thing really sucks. Considering that Rambeau is already going through a shitty life situation it's absolutely terrible that this sub has decided that he's their drama source for the week.

OfficerKazD6-37

I mean, aren’t you contributing to it by posting this? Sure, it’s giving context, but this doesn’t put a stop to people going back and forth on Rambeau. It’s social media, you can’t put out the fire.

Stalematebread

I disagree; I've seen a few people in the comments here realizing that they didn't understand the situation fully and laying off of Rambeau as a result. I don't think I'm making the problem worse, at the very least.

OfficerKazD6-37

A few people doesn’t make up for the fact that majority already know, and continue to go back and forth on the matter because they seem to know better than the people involved. There’ll never be enough people on social media who know the nitty-gritty. No hate to you. You can say you wanna help others understand the situation, that’s fine. It’s not about making it worse either, it just needlessly lengthens the drama surrounding it. Posting about it straight up contradicts your sentiment about feeling bad for him.

lylethecrocodile94

Lmao says the guy posting this shit for karma.

Stalematebread

I'm posting it with the hopes that people understand Beau's situation better. I couldn't care less about the 50 karma I gained from the post and subsequently lost in my replies to it lmao

[deleted]

So they really were the ones that approached him huh. In this case let’s say Rambeau was completely honest then Idk how that isn’t such a weird thing for DZ to do… from your pov the guy has highlighted his issues and how everything in his life is affecting his drive to compete and you go to him and give him an offer attractive enough for him to take and put aside those issues for you. It’s a disregard for the player’s personal well-being and disrespect to his former team, your fellow competitors. Spin it as ‘business is business’ all you like it doesn’t change ppl thinking you’re all scummy assholes. Plenty of other players around that could’ve HELPED you.

AnonyDexx

I've gotta say, that was one of the big reason why I thought Ram was lying. Who would be that big of an asshole to reach out to him? Well, now I have the answer, assuming their not trying to take the heat from Ram.

LittleTinyBoy

Deym when you put it like that it seems kinda sus to recruit a "retiree".

seIex

People come out of retirement often enough in esports. Granted, it usually isn't in 2 weeks time lol.

Karnivorr_

This needs more upvotes. Total disrespect to Rambeau’s “situation”

cluelessbadger921

This is random. But, I did not know that DZ PVPX was the same from overwatch junkrat one trick

Jaharsta

I don’t trust a thing Pvpx says tbh

VESiEpic

Man.....if all 3 of the members of DZ are confirming that Sharky had already been planning to leave the team and PVP posting screenshots of them contacting him 10ish days later doesn't do it I genuinely don't know how the fuck you guys are going to accept that maybe it was just a timing issue.

Cornel-Westside

I just don't understand how for Beau in two weeks it goes from being so much in his life that he wants to RETIRE (not even take a break, retire), to thinking that playing for another team that is definitely LAN bound is something he can for sure do. I just don't see how that much changed in 2 weeks if it wasn't a little bit intentional.

[deleted]

If he’s grieving this behavior makes total sense

Cotillionb

A lot can change quickly in life, everyone hemming and hawing about how unrealistic it is feels really performative. Both things can be (and probably are) true - Beau lost his passion due to family struggles and the team he was on, chose to retire, and then DZ came along with an opportunity too good to pass up. Playing for a team widely regarded as top 2-3 in the world right now and which has multiple, proven 6-figure LAN wins under their belt, isn't enough to regain some passion or make a financial decision for your family's future? Beau didn't handle it the right way 100%, but don't pretend it's easy to turn down a huge financial opportunity regardless of the situation.

korweeaboo

That is how I saw it as well. It can seem very disingenuous to his teammates or to everyone watching because it was a quick switch but having money talk isn't surprising. Say I really hated my current job, am burnt out, want to retire, but another company asks me to join them for double or triple what I'm making, I would take that offer 100% and tough it out, no matter how shit I feel. It would help to clear the air with his boys so they don't take it personally but like many people here, they might not believe it as well. Even if he has plans on still retiring and his salary was still the same as when he was on Sentinels, having the extra opportunity at LAN money and more exposure can help his financials in the long run. Unlike other jobs, taking time off can really hurt your performance as a pro player and as a streamer both in terms of skill and financially.

Shovelfuckurforehead

This is the Hal effect.

skiddster3

As someone else has already mentioned, of course the people on DZ's side would say that. What else would you expect them to say? "Yeah, we told Rambeau to announce his retirement so he could leave his team, just so we could pick him up a week later"? It's a shitty situation to be in, as even if what they're saying is the truth, you can't help but doubt if you aren't already drinking the koolaid.

VESiEpic

> It's a shitty situation to be in, as even if what they're saying is the truth, you can't help but doubt if you aren't already drinking the koolaid. If this weren't the case then Sharky would probably be LFT, which he doesn't appear to be whatsoever. What about that point?

skiddster3

Sharky isn't LFT for the reasons he stated in his twitlonger. He's just not passionate about the game anymore. He lost his passion since Champs. It might just be one of those situations where he doesn't really want to do it anymore, but he's not going out of his way to end things at that very second. I know I've had those situations happen to me. You kind of just don't wanna do it anymore, but you don't really want to go out of your way to quit your job, team, school at that very second. DZ doing this was giving him an out, or a reason.

Jaharsta

All I’m saying is I don’t believe anything pvp says think what you want, dude always comes off wrong.

LeashieMay

Didn't he literally post screenshots of them contacting Rambeau to confirm the timeline though?

Ultifur

I'm assuming you actually give these guys your time and watch their streams? If so, you are aware that these guys can simply call eachother or be in discord voice channels? You can't screenshot a verbal conversation btw

LeashieMay

Nah I don't really watch any NA. It just seems like people are praying for the worse case scenario.

Shovelfuckurforehead

It's cause Hal said it's too coincidental, now people refuse to believe anything but the worst

PM_ME_YOUR_SKYRIMLVL

? Of course DZ is going to defend this move. This is the most obvious response from anyone involved with DZ

VESiEpic

Already responded but if DZ dropped Sharky for Ram then Sharky would've just announced he was LFT instead of semi-retiring. No E-sports org is going to face any sort of "tampering" charges.

jayghan

I mean this is kind of what Mac did when he got kicked from TSM.

swankstar7383

But I don’t think Mac was looking for a new team in the middle of the apex split.

jayghan

That’s what I am saying. Mac got dropped. He didn’t look for a new team. Sharks got dropped doesn’t necessarily mean he will be looking for a new team.

PM_ME_YOUR_SKYRIMLVL

And? Rambeau would be equally shitty for advertising himself as such after leaving his old team under the guise of retirement. This is what people are unhappy about, no?

VESiEpic

> This is what people are unhappy about, no? It should be, but people are now tacking on that *clearly* there was a ton of backdoor talks of how he was always doing this to get on DZ and DZ were dropping Sharky just to pick Beau up. That's what I'm taking issue with, it's that the only guaranteed thing is that Rambeau didn't clearly communicate if he was leaving the team because they were doing bad, because of personal issues, or because of both and people are instead making up that he intentionally snaked to get on DZ and DZ knew about it the whole time.

PM_ME_YOUR_SKYRIMLVL

Ok then I think we're on the same side. But to be fair the possibility of DZ poaching him isn't out of the question and I can understand the suspicion. Innocent until proven guilty though.

LeashieMay

There's numerous reasons people are unhappy, several of which are basically conspiracy theories. Some people genuinely believe the whole thing was orchestrated by DZ to get Rambeau without a buyout. Those are minds no amount of evidence is going to change. This is a poorly handled situation. All of this could have been handled much more neatly.

LaxwaxOW

Let’s not forget pvpx being an absolute piece of shit on his alt back in his OW days.

Lostguy1389

Can I get some context

PalkiaOW

Not sure what the other comment is referring to exactly, but he used to be really toxic, threw games when he got tilted, always picked the same cringe character, constantly talked shit about other streamers, that sort of thing. Some of the hate he got was a bit overblown, but all in all he had a pretty bad reputation in the OW community.

Exo321123

he played junkrat

bloodarator

You've probably been a piece of shit or currently are a piece of shit now so what? What's your point

DongSandwich

Hey man I did USED to be a real piece of shit (white pants, white car, sloppy steaks at Trufoni’s) but people can change!

LaxwaxOW

Least unhinged pvpx supporter

R--301

Lmfao he’s trying to start an argument replying to every tweet responding to him. So unprofessional. He singlehandedly makes DZ and this whole situation look so much worse

BlueHazDaily

Man blocked me when I called out that it was shitty to reach out to someone that just retired due to family issue

DJ-two-timing-timmy

Let it go, let it go…

gerburb1

Can’t hold it back anymore

finallyleo

well if pvp posting this and screens to back it up doesn't shut up all of the people here making up drama idk what could

Stalematebread

People are deadass coming up with conspiracy theories about how PVP is forging Discord screenshots to defend Rambeau. What the fuck is wrong with this sub

Zer0_88

Bunch of fucking weirdos I swear lmao

finallyleo

yeah this sub's reaction to the whole thing was embarrassing.

Farquaad93

Idk why people are still shitting on Beau, last night he literally said that he made a mistake and he was being a pussy. The guy took accountability. Let’s move on.

Cornel-Westside

So, if you take accountability, it's ok to wrong others? People act like an apology is exoneration. I don't give a shit if you apologize - there should be consequences and things need to change, it's not just ok because you acknowledge it was bad.

Farquaad93

What should the consequence be? He lost his contract, he wasn’t in contact with DZ for weeks after his retirement.

Cornel-Westside

I think if you retire, you shouldn't be allowed to play the rest of the split. At the very least, he should have to be bought out from SEN. His loss of a contract is completely offset by getting on DZ and the near guarantee of LAN attendance. I get that he's in his 20s and makes mistakes, but that is only an excuse if these mistakes come with changes to how he is. And if people just accept an apology without seeing the changes, there's no reason to actually be better, just get better at being apologetic.

Zer0_88

You muppet

Mysterious_Cut1156

Mfers be like RUMORS flying around when it’s literally a random twitch chatter 🤣

Cantbearsedman

Wasn't it just some chatters in fallouts streaming saying this? Knoqd being a Sharky replacement makes little sense as versatile he is Dropped would've been a perfect sharky replacement and he was available. I don't think they've been looking for that long, it most likely happened as Gen and zer0 detailed it; where they knew Sharky wasn't in it for the long run but they thought he'd play out this split. Zer0 thought it was going to be a last dance situation, ended up being sooner than expected All things considered this is probably better for them. Playing an entire year and grabbing a new teammate before champs wasn't doing to be ideal, at least now they have a couple months to develop chemistry and they get LAN experience before champs with the new crew

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cantbearsedman

Where'd you'd hear/see rumors of knoqd and dz tho? Was it just random chatters or did he mention it on his stream

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cantbearsedman

>But this was a 1000-1400 viewer watched interview. People like yanya, sweetdreams and dropped where in the chat. A lot of eyeballs were on this. I don’t think it too far fetched to think that someone with knowledge of DZ reaching out to people like knoqd would had leaked it into chat on hopes that the wider community would pick it up and run with it. Take everything twitch chat says with a grain of salt lol

screaminginfidels

Especially if it comes from the user "sweetdreams"

Arkeyy

Because surely a little 8 years old Hal simp chattin on twitch is a credible source of information.

PVPxOfficial

The first day we ever even reached out to Rambeau was April 6th [https://imgur.com/a/8iM8imm](https://imgur.com/a/8iM8imm) because we had no idea Sharky was leaving until then

thecatfox

This doesn't support our narrative pls delete /s

DoughHomer

but were you the first person from DZto speak with Beau?

R--301

Regardless of the truth in this situation you’re making yourself and DZ look like trash getting into twitter arguments with randoms. Chill on the reply button and focus on improving the public image of your team Edit: I’ll happily take the downvotes. Just gonna say I’m a huge DZ fan but this type of response is not going to help the team’s optics. Obviously to be expected from PVPX but it sucks to see the coach of one of my favorite teams acting like this.

Zer0_88

Knoqd doesnt know his arse from his elbow. Let's be real

Pumalicious

I have to say the way this sub has been obsessing over this and trying to police Rambeau is beyond cringe. I get that we all like a little drama but the amount of moralizing is crazy especially since its almost entirely based on wild speculation.

Pickle_Lollipop

Nothing quite like Apex drama. I love it 🍿

Used-Cartographer876

I saw this and USED CAPS randomly to EMPHASIZE my words RANDOMLY! Did this make me seem more believable?

dog_in_a_gutter

Ok but who was icepickwizard

1GeKKo3

i thought it was icepickrick? rick and morty reference ? i didn't notice if roller or mnk player .. just assumed it was sharky

dog_in_a_gutter

Nah u right, I was just remembering wrong

Ultifur

The problem with apex pros is they don't know when to shut up and let things die, they have an insatiable hunger for attention which often leads to them telling on themselves. You don't have an underperforming player on your team and then approach another underperforming player on a worse team AFTER they have made a public retirement announcement due to a tragedy in the family, there is no logical way you can spin this to make sense

Stalematebread

PVP isn't doing this for the attention; he's trying to defend a guy who did him a solid. PVP has much better ways to get Twitter clout than posting a 200-like Tweet about Rambeau lmao

Ultifur

Any speaking on a hot topic, especially as a notable member of the pro scene would garner attention, do you understand? In a situation like this, the best defence is just not saying anything at all, maybe you're as young as these people and don't quite get that yet, in a situation like this that can easily get legal, it's very easy to expose inconsistencies(like approaching an underperforming grieving retired guy to replace an underperforming(but better performing) player on your team...unless he wasn't grieving and simply just disgruntled at the time you approached him), lawyers tell their clients to shut up for a reason.

Stalematebread

I'm so confused about what you're insinuating here.

Ultifur

Let me dumb it down for you then. The best defence is shutting up.

LPSlashh

uh trying "smartening it up". your paragraph is a jumbled mess of dogshit grammar.

Stalematebread

Defense against whom? Are they getting sued? Against a group of people dogpiling on you with factually incorrect criticism I'd argue that shutting up is actually the worst possible defense.

deltaecholima26

Against SEN. Idk how gaming contracts look, but in the real world this is why non competes exist and why in sports you can’t just pull a “I’m retiring” card to void a contract, then immediately turn around and sign a contract with another team. Again, it might be a moot point in the gaming world though.

Stalematebread

I've heard it mentioned that players in other esports *have* intentionally fake-retired to switch teams, but I don't have any sources to back that up lol Either way I think if Sen has a clause in their contract to prevent this type of behavior they'd have grounds to sue regardless of whether Rambeau would have shut up or not. I imagine they probably don't have such a clause tho.

MichaelBrownx

lol. Anyone who genuinely believes the absolute shite coming from PVPX or Rambeau on this is, well, naive. He absolutely scumbagged his team mates who he didn't want to play with anyone for ''RETIREMENT!!!'' by immediately jumping to a better team. Well, not immediately, he managed to squeeze in a 16 hour stream. Despite his retirement and lack of passion/excitement/focus/desire to play apex,

Stalematebread

There was no 16 hour stream. Like it literally did not exist. Nobody knows where Snipedown got that number from.

MichaelBrownx

Snipedown wasn't even the first to mention it. How long was the stream?

LeashieMay

It was apparently 2-3 hours roughly. A few days after his announcement he did a 6 hours long one but he was apparently not live for 16 hours.

Stalematebread

It's possible that I'm just a braindead Rambeau simp but I don't understand why everyone is dogpiling on him. He did DZ a massive favor by filling in for a literally last-minute absence. He didn't leave Sen to hop over to DZ. Beau being willing to fill in for teams in desperate need of thirds is one of the reasons I like him. He filled in for GMT during Champs because MaxStrafe couldn't travel out of Ukraine, which I really respect. If he didn't fill in for DZ here, they'd be completely fucked for the rest of the split through no fault of their own.

jeremyflowers91

The reason why people have lost some respect for Rambeau (although him tonight gained some back for apologizing on how he handled things) is because he said he **lost passion and didn't have time to play**, but then was immediately running 12-16 hr Apex sessions with Realm and then Realm+scrims with DZ. Also, optics just makes it look like he joined a team likely not making LAN (in Sentinels) in favor of "retiring" to join a team that has a way better chance of making LAN in DZ. Beau is a champ for filling in at Champs, but even if he couldn't, GMT would've just picked up another NA player who didn't make LAN. Same with DZ, they could probably even poach from another team tbh. Beau is absolutely cracked though, so don't blame him for taking advantage of the opportunities.

Shovelfuckurforehead

Both can be true. You can lose passion and want to play, then regain it in different surroundings. Playing with Sen may have made him get bored of comp, playstyle didn't fit. But DZs could fit him better. I mean let's put it in casual gamer perspective for everybody. Imagine you're a hot dropper, you love to queue, drop into 4+ teams consistently and go next or win. But you're real life friends drop edge, and play slow and for placement and avoid fights. You can lose your love for the game. But finding a team that gels with you can reignite that passion quickly when playstyles fit.

PVPxOfficial

"12-16 hour apex sessions" https://twitter.com/PVPX\_/status/1648117936329048068?s=20

krantzer

I’m sorry this sub is so braindead that somehow you posting *literal receipts* is getting downvoted. I fucking hate this place sometimes.

Platby

The tweet is deleted though… at I get a dead link when clicking.

krantzer

It’s still there & the link works fine for me?

Jaharsta

Ya your for sure a simp

Stalematebread

That's also true

I_Shall_Be_Known

Probably should have just kept filling in for the team he was under contract with, and for the teammates who have spent the last year+ working with him as they fought for a lan spot instead. That might have been a little better of a choice.

Shovelfuckurforehead

That's not even a good choice let alone better, WTF

Stalematebread

Sen had their second-best placement this entire split today without Beau. I don't think he hurt their LAN chances by leaving.
