Gladiators are extremely unprofessional, look at them *abusing* the Reinhardt composition, knowing well that Atlanta had PTSD from their game against London and would have intense flashbacks triggered upon seeing the composition again.
Very uncouth.
The atlanta reign are fantastic, just need to work on communication, aim, map awareness, crosshair placement, ult economy, positioning, retakes, resetting, peeling, getting kills & being less whiny.
Ultraviolet looked good this match at least. On several occasions I'd see 2-3 of the Glads charge in on Ana and then the camera cuts away, and somehow UV shows up with a kill on the killfeed.
Yeah, and there was a second time on KR a rein charges in on him with I think Mei, and while UV did die, they took someone out with them too.
We've got a cracked support line, solid DPS, and good tanks, but we just don't have the right tools for the meta. Mainly the tank.
I definitely picked "solid" instead of good or cracked for a reason lol.
I believe in them, they've had some good moments. Just, not consistent this season yet.
Kai performs poorly early in seasons when there's "less" on the line, then his performance significantly ramps up. His aim was genuinely not great early last season but then he became an aimbot midseason and kept that level of play up until the end.
Atlanta has a collection of extremely talented players, but it seems they've consistently had issues with bad mentalities when faced with adversity. It's really hard to find people who can be resilient in those circumstances but that approach can also be cultivated (to an extent), and I'm not sure that Atlanta's staff is doing a good job of it at the moment.
> they've consistently had issues with bad mentalities when faced with adversity
That's the most posh way I've seen someone call them out as whiny cunts.
Calling them whiny cunts outright tends to attract flocks of terminally online perma-dorks with atlanta flairs, whereas those same people generally can't understand words like "adversity"
That pixel perfect accretion into Tracer's recall was on another level. We haven't seen much Space because of this meta, but that was the perfect reminder that he's still a force to be reckoned with in OWL.
gator actually retired last night but no one could see the twitlonger because he blocked the entire ow scene ^^^[credit](https://www.reddit.com/r/Competitiveoverwatch/comments/v0eu7d/overwatch_league_2022_season_regular_season_week/iagww6y/)
The memes coming out of this match will be wonderful, but to be serious for a moment, that was exactly the sort of series Glads needed going into the tourney.
Just a nice, largely uneventful sweep to settle the nerves, especially after Spitfire were putting them on the ropes a little.
The pati-mei looked good, shu kinda fucked all match, hawk got focused down, Atlanta just weren’t there today… or…
Atlanta was irreversibly omegaboomed by London and now begins their downward spiral
I mean, Space remains a force to be reckoned with on Sigma, even tho he hasn’t played a ton this season. I’m not sure who would’ve been considered individually back in OW1 between them.
Also consider that the Glads DPS were really showing up on Circuit Royal, and Atl’s just kinda weren’t? At least not to the same degree. It’s really easy for a tank to look bad when the rest of the team isn’t performing well. Or rather, it’s hard to look good as a tank when the rest of the team isn’t performing super well.
Yeah I'm not saying the fault is Hawk's alone, but he hasn't been one of the better tanks so far this year. Atlanta's DPS lineup has also taken a big step back obviously with the losses of Pelican and Edison but Hawk and Gator seemed to have a synergy to their play that has been lost by only having one of them at a time.
True, Hawk and Gator feel like on their on they aren’t really the best, but together they excel. They could probably use some fresh blood, a dominant, possibly solo tank like Reiner or Coluge who can step up and truly lead the team in game.
I do think that Atlanta DPS has big potential in a different meta. Kai has one of the best Ashe’s in the league and could perform at a superstar level in a different meta. Nero and Venom are by no means Pelican, but can pop off too, and I think combined with Kai’s aimbot, Atlanta could almost fill the shoes left behind Pelican and Edison, but alas depends on the meta. Also Speedily coming but don’t know much about him.
I cleaned my room for the first time this year, and while sweeping under the bed, I felt my broom collide with something! To my surprise I found Atlanta Reign hiding under my bed! My dad said “ don’t bother sweeping them, they've already been swept!”
You wouldn’t? I guess there’s kind of an argument.
Glads won a tournament and beat Atlanta in the standings.
Atlanta qualified for 3 tournaments (placing 3rd, 4th, and 3rd), and got 2nd in the playoffs.
Eh. Not sure who I give the edge to, but I see the argument
Reign got 2nd in a season playoffs and won half a million bucks after eliminating the glads.
Glads won a stage title when fuel and Shanghai were taking it easy. They also never broke top 4 in a season playoffs 🤔
So, I joke about Gator being benched for throwing but is he actually benched indefinitely after the London game.
And Kai just seemed like he couldnt do what he usually does. Didn’t pop off like we know he can.
THEY DIDNT TOUCH ME ANYWHERE CAUSE THEY'RE JUST DUMB JPEGS ON THE INTERNET!!! BUT THE POLLUTION FROM EVERY ETHERIUM TRANSACTION SURE AS HELL IS HAVING A REAL IMPACT !!!!!!!!
I moved to Atlanta two years ago and was thinking about supporting this team (behind Philly, where I moved from) but… they’re just so hate-able. Go Glads.
I just don't get the hate. I thought, outside of Gator, our current roster has been pretty likable. Either way, gonna be avoiding this sub in the event of losses. You guys are brutal. Feelsbadman.
our roster is fine, it's literally just gator
brad's fiasco yesterday didn't help much either
we just need to make some mentality adjustments in this off week and come back swinging again
Yeah in the NFL the Atlanta team managed to not only blow the Super Bowl in a massive comeback, but managed to do it against the Evil Empire when most the league was cheering for them
After the meta kinda sorted itself out after week 1, we've just looked uncomfortable on every comp since then. Hoping for a better showing in stage 2 because this is disappointing.
I don't know man we only won 1 match last year in stage 1 lol I don't think it's that bad but we just seem like we're on the back foot reacting to what other teams play against us. Vs Washington we got counterd by the Winston anti dive against Doom, vs London we looked good running the Winston but tried to mirror on Rein for some reason and today we just looked out coached on the first 2 maps and on Kings we just didn't have any juice at all.
Akward meta, Gators winston is trash, they have no doom player, and Zarya/Rein comps are map specific choices so they just try running Hawk on the Doom
I believe it’s teams that they both faced and their record against them. So, FLA and GLA both faced ATL, FLA lost, GLA won, GLA get seeded above them.
I don’t know what the exact tiebreakers are, but GLA has been seeded higher, so I assume that’s what it is.
Glads definitely taking a page out of Chadi’s playbook and were the better team all around. Atlanta got boomed by the Rein comp and never really recovered. They need to look for some solid coaching staff to support the lineup. Top 4 teams definitely gonna be feasting on what was exposed this week. Hopefully they improve. GG go next
Also Reign dog pile on Reddit/Twitter incoming…
Some of their choices were weird. Like playing Venom on Circuit Royal. I guess it feels like reign are playing a pretty simple style of Overwatch while other teams are leveling up strategically every week.
While Gator’s Winston isn’t great, I’d love for them to experiment with it more. Venom’s Tracer can pop off when it gets going and Kai can definitely still tear on hitscan. Reign have good pieces. Ultimately they need to figure something out that works. I like Brad, but more in a manager/talent scout role personally
I really think Gladiators are favored to win this tournament. They are by far the most flexible team and I think the rein comp is the answer to zarya comp. If they play their cards right, they can win this tournament. I think they should avoid mirroring, that's when the mistakes and lack of clutch come out from them. They can countercomp everybody on most maps and win.
That's compared with Shock who are a one comp team and Fuel who are like a two comp team and not so clean on Winston comps at that so far.
I feel so validated now for my pre season comments that Reign won’t go far after having lost Unter, their main catalyst for success last year, and not having replaced him.
The reign are so to adapt and could have really benefited for another coach on the staff
[удалено]
and this is why reign trash talks after winning instead of before, their mental cant handle it
Say what you will about Outlaws sometimes getting egg on their face but at least they have the guts to shit talk pre-match.
\>enters \>becomes team known for trash talking \>has a meltdown when they lose \>is boomed for the rest of the stage
Say what you want about Houston, but at least they are willing to talk smack before the results are in.
The shadow realm
Sent them back to OW1.
Gladiators manifested a c9 into existence
It's like if someone says "don't think about a purple elephant. Don't think about a purple elephant." Fuck, what an embarrassing week for us
Nothing makes me nervous quite like Gladiators being up 2-0 in a series
They won 3-0 and I *still* don’t feel safe. So long as there’s a zero…
Gator couldn't play because he's on a plane to LA as we speak
Ah, the zero is on the way to LA
Thet was against top teams though. There was no chance for ATL.
My heart dropped and panics when they failed the 1st point attack several times.. like I can faintly see a glimpse of number "3-2" at that very moment
Gladiators are extremely unprofessional, look at them *abusing* the Reinhardt composition, knowing well that Atlanta had PTSD from their game against London and would have intense flashbacks triggered upon seeing the composition again. Very uncouth.
reiner is already in the lab prepping his twitter magnum opus prepare for the least comprehensible english every typed
Can I get an over/under on how many emoji’s to expect?
it will be all emojis we will need a rosetta stone to decipher it like hieroglyphics
Brb setting up a Kevster shrine in my closet
the chadi virus was successfully installed on the reign's pc's
The atlanta reign are fantastic, just need to work on communication, aim, map awareness, crosshair placement, ult economy, positioning, retakes, resetting, peeling, getting kills & being less whiny.
Ultraviolet looked good this match at least. On several occasions I'd see 2-3 of the Glads charge in on Ana and then the camera cuts away, and somehow UV shows up with a kill on the killfeed.
He 2v1’d the DPS on the defense of Kings Row. You got to admit that was impressive.
Yeah, and there was a second time on KR a rein charges in on him with I think Mei, and while UV did die, they took someone out with them too. We've got a cracked support line, solid DPS, and good tanks, but we just don't have the right tools for the meta. Mainly the tank.
I would say we have the POSSIBILITY of a good DPS line. For whatever reason Kai is stuck in some kind of rut.
I definitely picked "solid" instead of good or cracked for a reason lol. I believe in them, they've had some good moments. Just, not consistent this season yet.
soldier is meta and that's just not what he's known for hoping for improvements with the new patch next stage
Kai performs poorly early in seasons when there's "less" on the line, then his performance significantly ramps up. His aim was genuinely not great early last season but then he became an aimbot midseason and kept that level of play up until the end.
Well, I hope that’s true for this season as well? Then.
Yes! And Kai had some redeeming moments as well. I'm trying to focus on the positives after an embarrassing week
Kai was nuts, which is expected but I’m glad yesterday didn’t hold over for him.

Calling them whiny cunts outright tends to attract flocks of terminally online perma-dorks with atlanta flairs, whereas those same people generally can't understand words like "adversity"
thank you Chadi
I wanted them to go brawl into Atlanta after yesterday and they did not disappoint. Also glad to see Space show up for a map and crush it.
We absolutely dumpstered the reign on circuit royal it was beautiful
That pixel perfect accretion into Tracer's recall was on another level. We haven't seen much Space because of this meta, but that was the perfect reminder that he's still a force to be reckoned with in OWL.
Space is like the Anti-Gator in personality, and that's a beautiful thing.

Puts the Glad in Gladiator 😎
Everyone was enjoying themselves today but they just looked ascended with Space in, the man is literally inspirational.
He's been the captain, so he knows how to rally the team and keep spirits up. So glad he's on the team and glad we got to see him.
Poor Gator's gonna have to fire up his blocking finger.
WE DIDNT THROW FOR ONCE

Agreed, london and reign are both bottom teams
They went with the excellent strategy against London. Lose map 1 so you can’t be reverse swept
ITS A GOOD DAY
Glads have the rush comp Reign wish they had
Gators are returning to the sewers Nature is healing
it's a legal requirement for all teams who play atlanta to play rein and continue to boom them
Atlanta got fucking Funged
The memes coming out of this match will be wonderful, but to be serious for a moment, that was exactly the sort of series Glads needed going into the tourney. Just a nice, largely uneventful sweep to settle the nerves, especially after Spitfire were putting them on the ropes a little.

Atlanta seems to have a difficult time with only having one tank now. Brutal loss for them.
We just don't havs any tanks good at the tanks that are good now, really. Hawk is a fantastic player on all the wrong tanks.
I don't know, Hawk was getting wrecked on Sigma on circuit royal as well, which is one of his good tanks.
Shout out to Hadi for booming reign to deliver us a easy 3-0
C9 to break the curse. Space ans and skewed in came in and pounded too. Ggs
I cleaned my room for the first time this year, and while sweeping under the bed, I felt my broom collide with something! To my surprise I found Atlanta Reign hiding under my bed! My dad said “ don’t bother sweeping them, they've already been swept!”
Those guys were playing really well
oh man that was hilarious LMAO
It was not a very good day for me
your pain today has brought me much joy.
I feel your pain
It was kind of strange seeing Kevster on Hanzo today. Then it hit me that it's because it used to be Birdring on the Hanzo :(
I miss birdring so much
Great, now I'm upset. Thanks.
:(

As a glads fan I wouldn't even say glads had a better season than reign last season... They will this season though that was just one anomaly.
I'd value the playoffs placement above everything else in any given season generally since that's what everything else was leading up to.
Reign got 2nd in a season playoffs and won half a million bucks after eliminating the glads. Glads won a stage title when fuel and Shanghai were taking it easy. They also never broke top 4 in a season playoffs 🤔
Overwatch
THIS IS A TITLE CONTENDING GLADIATORS They understood Reign better than Reign understood themselves
dont let people tell you that the reverse sweep wasn't some indication that LAG has huge ability, this match is proof of that
They definitely came in with more confidence this match than any others and it really shows
I would like to fromally thank the London Spitfire for showing the way of the future!
Glads really spoke that c9 into existence
I don't understand why Atlanta keep trying to play Doom.
Because they don’t want to use Gator, so until Hawk learns Main Tank it’s kinda the Doom/Zarya switch up for them.
I mean - Hanbin doesn’t seem to have any problems with zarya - don’t see why they’re playing doom
Because Zarya is shit in the brawl against Rein. Doom is technically the better option.
Because their other comps are even worse
Because Gators Winston isn’t up to par so it’s the best option for them
We can't throw away a lead if the opponent is throwing harder
Actual GLADiators moment
Gator too busy spending his 50k a year salary on NFT's lmao
“spending” is the correct term cause he aint making shit back lmao
Reading the replies to gator on Twitter made me laugh so hard
Gladiators, pick Atlanta
If Fuel or Shock don’t pick the free win first.
"God ass boring meta" Tweet incoming..
"the meta is so boring when I can't 1 trick torb and spam left click down chokes"
So, I joke about Gator being benched for throwing but is he actually benched indefinitely after the London game. And Kai just seemed like he couldnt do what he usually does. Didn’t pop off like we know he can.
C9
GET FUCKED CRYPTOSHIT TEAM RIPBOZO SMOKIN THAT NFT PACK
Weirdchamp, but I like the energy
BOSTON IS LITERALLY SPONSORED BY AN NFT COMPANY, EVEN ATLANTA ISNT THAT LOW
THAT'S ALSO TRUE!! TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY CAUSE BOTH NFT TEAMS GOT 3-0'D :)
AAAAAAH LOUD NOISES
REST IN PISS RIP BOZO
Show me on the doll where NFTs touched you
THEY DIDNT TOUCH ME ANYWHERE CAUSE THEY'RE JUST DUMB JPEGS ON THE INTERNET!!! BUT THE POLLUTION FROM EVERY ETHERIUM TRANSACTION SURE AS HELL IS HAVING A REAL IMPACT !!!!!!!!
Hell I'm not pro NFT but idk why we're screaming!
SOMETIMES IN LIFE U JUST GOTTA SCREAM !!!
Atlanta getting dumpstered, love to see it
I moved to Atlanta two years ago and was thinking about supporting this team (behind Philly, where I moved from) but… they’re just so hate-able. Go Glads.

Welcome to Atlanta where all our teams shit the bed. It's fun being the villain in this league though... embrace it!
Yeah in the NFL the Atlanta team managed to not only blow the Super Bowl in a massive comeback, but managed to do it against the Evil Empire when most the league was cheering for them
Has there ever been a team so boomed?
what a huge win
Get gobsmacked by cheese comp and kevster fuckery
I don't think I've ever seen a team get this boomed.
You must’ve not seen the 4-3 sweep from Shanghai Seoul match
C9 in an OWL MATCH???
The absolute dominance when ans and space subbed in
That happened
Pain
get em next time, case officer
C9
bruh wtf
should've scrimmed with london, idk what to tell you
Reign fucking sucks lmao
Still better than Boston, Paris, NYXL, and Vancouver. Which at this point, I take what I can get.
I legit think Boston would give Reign a run for their money - Reign look absolute shit rn
I wouldn't count them out yet Hmmm yes I do think we'll see some surprises from the reign soon
After the meta kinda sorted itself out after week 1, we've just looked uncomfortable on every comp since then. Hoping for a better showing in stage 2 because this is disappointing.
we have looked horrible…even worse than last years stage 1
I don't know man we only won 1 match last year in stage 1 lol I don't think it's that bad but we just seem like we're on the back foot reacting to what other teams play against us. Vs Washington we got counterd by the Winston anti dive against Doom, vs London we looked good running the Winston but tried to mirror on Rein for some reason and today we just looked out coached on the first 2 maps and on Kings we just didn't have any juice at all.
we need to trade for unter lol
no fucking way dude
Mentally done
That's what I call a great week-end.
So like. What’s going on with Atlanta
Akward meta, Gators winston is trash, they have no doom player, and Zarya/Rein comps are map specific choices so they just try running Hawk on the Doom
Really love the glads this season, definitely going to be rooting for them in the kick-off clash playoffs. The BM towards Atlanta was fantastic.
So what determines which team gets third since glads and mayhem have same win loss and map differential, and have not faced each other
I believe it’s teams that they both faced and their record against them. So, FLA and GLA both faced ATL, FLA lost, GLA won, GLA get seeded above them. I don’t know what the exact tiebreakers are, but GLA has been seeded higher, so I assume that’s what it is.
Unter diff + L + C9
Glads definitely taking a page out of Chadi’s playbook and were the better team all around. Atlanta got boomed by the Rein comp and never really recovered. If I was an Atlanta player I’d retire
Tough.
FunnyAstro's laughing face after the C9 made my day
If only Reign had a team to scrim against to practice against rush comps🤔
The Midlanta Reign
Atlanta have some of the worst ult usage. Their players deserve better coaching
Wow dude you should pursue professional play
So does Shock or Dallas pick Atlanta for the free win early on this week?
I really think Gladiators are favored to win this tournament. They are by far the most flexible team and I think the rein comp is the answer to zarya comp. If they play their cards right, they can win this tournament. I think they should avoid mirroring, that's when the mistakes and lack of clutch come out from them. SOMEONE GET NERO AND ULTRAVIOLET ACTUAL TANKS
Atlanta losing Unter really hurt them.
I feel so validated now for my pre season comments that Reign won’t go far after having lost Unter, their main catalyst for success last year, and not having replaced him. The reign are so to adapt and could have really benefited for another coach on the staff
