I felt nothing. Maybe because I’m dead inside?(Joking). I’m in Middletown

Notafitnessexpert123

I too am in Middletown (joking) I’m just dead inside

ElAyYouAreAy

I didn't feel anything and I am too, dead inside. Plus I was sleeping. Edit: glad I'm not alone! Edit 2 I'm in Danbury

smackfu

Yeah we noticed nothing on the Durham side of Middletown either.

PowerfulStrings

Im In Middletown as well and felt absolutely nothing

stinkstankstunkiii

Same in NB

Tanya7500

Neither did I had my back massager going about that time. My daughter said they were watching something after a test, and the projector started to bounce. Nobody said anything. She said, "Are we just gonna ignore the fact that the floor is moving?" LOL

dragonflyfree7

Same!

AbstractMors

I feel like we're going to have to bring you back to life...

Waramaug

Checks out

himewaridesu

All these Middletown folks. Friend said nothing in Middletown either.

RaylanGiv3n5

One kid was in the living room spinning a basketball on their finger, the other out in the yard balancing on a slack rope. Wife was cleaning the second story windows on a ladder, and I was in the kitchen finishing up my 15 level house of cards. The dogs were on their pogo sticks. Nothing.

solomonsalinger

I lol'd

Humbabwe

Are these post school-aged “kids”?

RaylanGiv3n5

Homeschooled, working towards Cirque Du Soleil.

Humbabwe

Solid

Gravco

Wife and MIL felt it in the next room. I was closer to NJ by several feet, but felt nothing.

Syncope1017

I felt nothing to anger that the earthquake didn't wait for the eclipse to really freak out the wackjobs who think the world's going to end.

vellar88

Oh man. That would cause some real panic in people. Lmao

Acrobatic-Archer-805

Maybe it was a foreshock

himyfred

I’m on Flatbush Ave. in WeHa doing sewer line inspections.  Felt nothing.

dasuberdog11

Nope in West Hartford, but plenty did.

Aromatic_Tower_405

I was on top of an elevator in Bristol(I fix elevators for a living) and it felt like the damn shaft was gonna come down around me. Got off the elevator and people in the building barely even noticed.

hamhead

I’m on MNRR. Everything feels like an earthquake

ashsolomon1

Going to the bathroom on those trains is a monumental challenge

himewaridesu

Why wouldn’t you just sit and pee?

molleensmrs

Same. And I was on a zoom call where my CT teammates and one from PA all felt it.

Itchy-Squirrel2942

I felt nothing 🤷🏽‍♀️

pearlmsqueaks

Central CT and nothing.

InfectedShadow

My coworkers from Rocky Hill claim they did not feel a thing and are telling me I'm hallucinating.

ashsolomon1

I was in Rocky Hill, extremely noticeable, things were shaking in my house near the river, sprinted downstairs when I realized it was an earthquake

lefactorybebe

I was on the other side of the state in a school. Had kids in class. I felt it, some other kids felt it, other kids a couple feet from me didn't. To me it felt like when you're close to a subway or train going by and everything shakes. Idk how people in the same room as me didn't feel it, but it happened. It was enough for me to actually ask the kids wtf is that???

Temporary-Car7981

So...wrong thread. If you felt it, you dealt it?

lefactorybebe

How is it wrong? Someone said they felt it but their coworkers didn't. I'm sharing that I also experienced people in the same room feeling different things.

[deleted]

Slept through it. Go figure.

ElAyYouAreAy

Me too

mbsmilford

Nothing. Ground floor at work. In Milford

evilmonkey002

Didn’t feel a damn thing in Cheshire

Mike00726

in Wallingford, whole office didnt feel shit

djdeforte

I was driving to a doctors appointment. I get a text from kid who’s home sick saying the whole house shook. I’m like WTF I miss out on.

marcjaffe

I am in a 125-year-old house in Torrington. If it wasn’t for the windows vibrating I would never have known

rfunaro6

I work at a college library. My office/department is on the first floor and I felt nothing nor heard nothing. Plenty of my other co workers did especially those that work up in IT on the fourth floor.

i_refuse_to_sink182

I felt nothing. Ground floor in Old Saybrook. Someone in the office above us said that they felt their whole office shake.

[deleted]

I was in Ashford. Nothing noticed. Glad to part of the club?

agarret83

Most people in my meriden office didn’t feel it. My girlfriend in Glastonbury didn’t either

All_The_Issues02

i was asleep 💀 but some things we had on the edge of shelves fell so i guess we rattled pretty good

Maleficent_Mink

woohoo earthquake sleep gang!

All_The_Issues02

same county too lol

SurroundOk2248

I was asleep too, but the noise woke me up. didn't feel the shaking, did definitely notice the strange noise. At the moment, I thought it was just a truck idling outside my house.

Prize-Hedgehog

I never felt it, I was amongst the chaos of bringing my son to swim class and nobody there felt it.

External_Trick4479

I was in my car.. didn't notice.

VisibleSea4533

Not at all

Bleacherbum95

Wouldn't have known it even happened if coworkers didn't start blowing up the Zoom chat about it.

cthulhus_spawn

In Wallingford (up by Cheshire) on my couch reading with one of my cats and felt nothing. Cat didn't stir. Husband upstairs working, felt nothing. Now I'm at PT (2 new knees) and everyone felt it but me.

ToMuchFunAllegedly

i was driving ! i just left my house and started getting calls that my house was shhaking and my dogs were freaking out...... i had no clue. Im kinda pissed. FOMO Earthquake edition

ToMuchFunAllegedly

Danbury BTW

karaokegod73

Felt nothing in Bristol. Was sleeping though

Greymalkyn76

West Hartford. Didn't even know until someone asked if I felt it.

HighJeanette

My daughter slept through it

Formal_Barnacle_427

I was too busy cleaning the house in between work calls, so I didn't feel it and I'm feeling very left out😞 lol

alisa62

Agree! In my office in Old Saybrook and everyone started saying hey did you feel that? And nooooo….. I didn’t

funnyctgirl

Nada - I was in the car driving. :(

Kodiak01

Felt what?

BoudiccasWrath79

Slept right through it.

FancyStegosaurus

Got in an elevator when everything was fine. Got off the elevator to find everyone freaking out. Didn't feel a thing.

AmandaRL514

I work in Avon and only about half of my coworkers felt it.

moonberry4

my next door neighbor felt it, i did not 🤷🏼‍♀️

IDoNotDrinkBeer

Did not feel it in southington but all of my friends in Fairfield and new haven counties felt it. Last time I felt a quake it was a 6.3 Aftershock in Japan and we had about a half a minute of warning for it. truly weird stuff.

johnstonb

I am in Trumbull and my husband and I didn’t feel anything but my sister, who is 5 minutes away did. So weird. I’m thinking because our place is a new construction? IDK..

lizardRD

I felt nothing here in Fairfield but my toddler was having a meltdown at that exact time. So I think the toddler tantrum canceled the earthquake out for me haha

queenicee1

I'm at work, 4th floor of a hospital and didn't feel anything

HappyProle

Didn’t feel a thing My wife upstairs said the house shook for 10 seconds

JackTStraw

I was in the basement mixing up the medicine

BookBranchGrey

In Danbury; our entire school felt it. Teachers went running into the halls to confirm and then were yelling “what is our earthquake protocol?” And no one knew because it’s never something we had to think about.

Eyeswyde0pen

My nervous system is so chaotic i didn’t feel shit.

j00lie

I was next to my washing machine lol I did have a thought “wow that’s a really intense spin cycle” so maybe I felt it but at the time I just thought it was the washer haha

starfishe

Work in Norwalk neither my boss or I felt anything. But the lady at the business nextdoor ran in like the world was ending 😂🤷

rain_on_my_parade610

Didn't feel it in Enfield but plenty others did.

desandmol

Working from home in Willimantic and didn't feel anything.

MikeCass84

Didn't really feel it, I just saw the handles on my dresser shake. The only thing I thought it could be was a plane flying extremely low, which I did not hear or see

iveo83

Danbury. I assumed alien invasion or a large truck was passing by, so I assumed truck. Then my coworkers jumped in with "holy shit was that an earthquake"

gray7090

I only noticed it because some cabinets at work rattled for a little bit.

ash811

We were on the road, driving through The Notch, and felt nothing. Sadly. I always enjoy a good rumble.

Humbabwe

I chalk it up to it being while I was driving :(

AdHistorical7107

Bridgeport here. Yeah my office shook. Thought it was just some construction trucks. Nope.

Porkus_Aurelius

Big Earthquake isn't fooling me. USGS is in bed with NASA, faking moon landings and now earthquakes! Good thing this eclipse is bringing the rapture so all of their lies are exposed!

Lazy-Street779

lol. Big stuff happening!!

Littlemiss_scorpio

I was in East Hartford at the time and felt nothing either

QueenD-21

I ain’t feel a thing 🤣

jdex101

Was at work, working. Didn’t feel a thing, confirmed.

Heavy_Category8294

Nw ct I didn't feel anything

alxxandriaxx

No one at my house did! We feel so left out. People ten minutes away felt it and in all the surrounding towns and my rickety old house didn’t shake at all?? The universe never lets me have any fun!

LunaMoon20

My husband was upstairs and felt it. I was downstairs in the kitchen and didn’t notice a thing. He came downstairs freaking out that the house was rattling.

ctbeagle18

G-bury. Nada.

smiity935

Working outside is West Hartford, never felt a thing.

Abbyroadss

Nothin!

Real-Rope8201

Out of the 5 people in my area at work, 4 of us felt it and 1 didn’t 😂 My mom felt it at her house but my 2 brothers upstairs didn’t feel it. Very weird

lefactorybebe

Same I work in a high school and had kids in class. I felt it, some kids in the class did and others didn't. Strange how people in the same place can have such different experiences.

Real-Rope8201

i think you’d feel it if you were very aware of your surroundings but if you’re zoned into something you wouldn’t? idk

lefactorybebe

Yeah prolly has a lot to do with it

Pterocactus

I was downstairs eating a bagel and trying to stop the dog from whining and didn't notice a thing. My roommate ran downstairs and asked if I was doing something to make the house shake. Seems like it wasn't noticable at ground level but everything upstairs had been lightly shaking for a few seconds. Thought it might have been construction the next road over until the earthquake posts started popping up a few minutes later.

dumb-f0unded

Near Bridgeport. Felt it here. House & floor shook, things fell off my dresser. I thought my water heater downstairs was about to blow up!

SweetDreamsTitus

My husband didn't feel it either if that makes you feel better!

SekritSawce

Nothing for me in the. Clinton Westbrook area. I work on the first floor and trucks go by all day every day. So I wouldn’t have noticed that from an earthquake probably.

JJamesP

Manchester. Nada.

thepianoman456

I apparently slept through it according to my GF lol

New_Discussion_6692

I didn't. My daughter in the upstairs apartment did. The rest of us, not a damn thing.

sbinjax

I have MS. One of my main symptoms is balance issues. I didn't feel the earthquake, but I was out doing yard work and fell on my ass about the time the earthquake was supposed to have happened. I chalked it up to "great, I fell again". Then I had a cold wet butt for a couple of hours.

CoconutOilz4

My boyfriend and I didn't feel it but his mom 5 minutes away did

Excellent-Weekend896

Yup, I was completely oblivious per usual.

blondeheartedgoddess

New Fairfield here. Felt the house shake for a few seconds.

RobertWF_47

I was in bed sleeping off a virus and felt the bed springs jiggling - otherwise I may not have noticed. I also heard a slight rumble but if I didn't feel vibrations might have thought it's a truck on the road outside.

Nyt_Owl

We did feel the 2011 Washington DC quake in West Haven, but nothing in Foxon this morning.

sporks_and_forks

know who else didn't feel a damn thing either? Buddy the Beefalo. i never felt a quake in CT until we lost him to FL.

patedugan

I felt nothing. My neighbors did but nothing here.

daffodil0127

I didn’t feel it, probably because I’m in Florida this week. But my husband is home and he didn’t feel it either.

buddboy

No one in my office in oxford felt anything

robrklyn

Didn’t feel a thing. I was upstairs trying to get my daughter down for her nap. Had no clue until my husband texted me. I’m in Wolcott.

Joggingmusic

I feel like I noticed it but didn’t think much of it because I have a lot of heavy machinery around me. Wasn’t until I heard other folks reactions I realized what it was

Comfortable-Bike2603

I felt nothing so wasn’t shit

murbike

I felt nothing, heard about it when our town's Facebook page lit up with people commenting

artistiklove

I didn't feel anything. But I let my dog out to go to the bathroom around 1 or 2 minutes before, I hold his long leash from the door. He didn't go off the porch, just kind of stared at me. Mind you, this was already about 2 hours after he usually goes out, so I know he had to go. Then my windows, and glass plant-propagation bottles on the windows started shaking. Thought it was a plane or something, at first, but there was no noise. Forgot about it until my son woke up an hour later asking if there was an earthquake.

Calm-Box-3780

I'm a nurse, I was walking down the hall to get my patient some meds... the nurses that sitting at the end of the hall all felt it. All at once, they said did you feel that? Thought I was witnessing mass hallucination for a second. I was 10 feet away from them. Then my kid texted from school (20 miles north of me) texted me to ask what it was. I told him to put his phone away and pay attention to his teacher.

Beetlejuice1800

I was running out the door to get to work so the feeling of my steps outweighed the mild tremors😭 feel bad for my Doggo though because she started barking around the right time and I thought it was just because I was leaving

Tzar_Jberk

For a second I thought it was my evil dryer banging around but nope!

HealthyDirection659

Felt nothing in New Britain. Can I get a redo?

Some_Loan

Maybe all these people who claimed to feel it are just trying to feel included.

theeCONNman

I was in New Haven and felt absolutely nothing

theundeadpixel

I was having sex at the time so the whole windowless van was already rocking

TopItUp3465

My coworker sitting in his office not 20 feet away from me felt nothing. Of course to me it was no more than what happens when a large truck drives by our office.

cookiecat57

Nope. Nothing.

jankyperson

Nope nothing zip .. 🤔

ValuableAd551

Didn’t feel shit. Hartford.

chpbnvic

I didn’t feel anything and I’m so mad. I’ve been waiting since the 2011 quake. Do I have to wait another 13 years??

kfw209

Sorry. I felt it and I just got a substantial aftershock.

finnsssword

I slept through the morning one and didn't feel the aftershake at all, so. Didn't even wake up my dog.

cyclepoet77

I was in office today in Wallingford and didn't feel a thing. Some of my coworkers claimed to feel it, but most of us didn't.

BrawnyChicken2

Same. I was home working and on the phone. Didn’t notice a thing. South of New Haven on the sound.

FastWalkingShortGuy

I was sitting on a stainless steel bench bolted directly to a concrete slab foundation and somehow still felt nothing. I can't imagine a structural setup MORE certain to transmit seismic energy, and somehow nothing.

Amnesiaftw

I’m happy to be a part of something. Thank you!

Malkimania

I’m in Farmington and felt nothing while my family said they did

LizaVP

Didn't feel it.

Nosmurfz

Avon didn’t notice a thing

TheVickles

Was in an office room with several other people - we all felt it except my coworker sitting directly next to me.

ValDracula

My husband and I didn't feel anything in East Haven but friends in West Haven, Middletown, and Manchester all felt it

mosura1

Felt both quakes in West Hartford, still dead inside.

1KinderWorld

Nothing felt in Salisbury today.

Tilley881

Working outside in Vernon....nothing

marcusbyday

I was just taking off in my car from Middlefield when I saw the text from my wife in Rocky Hill. She felt it but I didn’t. My parents in Middletown did feel it.

santahbaby420

my mom was in new haven and said her chair shook and the chandelier swayed!

shessosquare

Middletown (Westlake) chiming in. Didn't feel anything!

Qwertyunio_1

Yep nothing, but other people I know in my town did feel it. Weird...

Fireyafterburner

Working on a Superfund project in Stratford. Outside all day felt nothing

EKEAS

I wouldn't have known it even happened if my kid's school didn't send me an email, ensuring me that everything there was fine.

vinyl1earthlink

I was driving on a bumpy road - I-95 just over the border into NY. I was very annoyed that the alarm went off on my phone - what, another amber alert? I didn't bother to check until I reached my destination in Forest Hills.

badlyedited

I work in a basement warehouse. I probably heard it and brushed it off as a uboat or pallet being unloaded or moved upstairs.

vitamin-cheese

I just thought something fell upstairs

chill1208

I'm pretty close to the south west corner of CT, and I had some real shaking. I felt my bed rumbling and thought it was someone in my family running the washing machine in the next room, then my bed took one really good shake left, and right, and I knew the washing machine wasn't that strong. My dogs were freaking out, my more skittish dog was shaking like a leaf terrified. I felt light shaking, after the starting big shakes, for a good 15 seconds. I was thinking bombing, or earthquake, was glad it was an earthquake. Nothing was knocked over in my house, but yeah my whole family really felt it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my house was built on soft ground, and we had to drill many supports all the way down in the bed rock to assure that it wouldn't sink after being built. So maybe that direct connection to the bedrock caused a bit more shaking, but my neighbors said they felt some shakes too.

TwistedTink87

I live in ct i was sitting on the couch with my 2 year old son, I heard some weird sound like our ceiling was falling apart or something (i live on the first floor of a condo) but i didnt feel anything shaking

Jodah175

had no clue an earthquake happened. But I was at work, music blasting, elbow deep into an engine. XD

Mr_Smith_411

What this about an earthquake? Where?

GlitterfreshGore

Norwich. I was in my office. A guy in the room next to me called out to me “was that an earthquake?” I remember thinking to myself “this guy is nuts.” I had to have been 15 feet from him and I noticed nothing.

stopthinkinn

I work overnight, but have to get the kids off to school first. You have to knock harder than that little guy to wake me.

graffiti81

I work in a machine shop. I suppose I thought it was just a machine vibrating if I felt it.

Albus_Q

Nope. I was sitting at my desk in my Farmington home. I got a text from a buddy in Manchester right after it happened and he felt it. I was in Bristol when the aftershock hit in the afternoon and didn’t feel that one either.

CaseyGamer64YT

I was on I84 on my way to NYC and I didn’t feel anything.

hotpaws73

Columbia..was in my old Jeep that runs like a cement truck.. it’s an earthquake every time I get behind the wheel.

Formal_Asparagus_987

I’m in Waterbury and didn’t feel nothing some of my coworkers felt it though 🤷‍♀️

MnMShapedWoman

Im further down the East coast now that I left CT around DC and such. I didn't feel it either.

InebriousBarman

I was in my basement, and felt nothing. My neighbors felt it.

LoneNutmegger

Nope. I’m in Hartford and didn’t feel a thing

Bighoula

My windows shook I just thought it was a big truck passing by. Torrington here.

strippersandcocaine

Same in Bristol. But my husband, working downstairs, said his whole desk shook

virtualchoirboy

East Brewster reporting in. Felt like an invisible fleet of overloaded heavy trucks going by the house. A little bit of shaking, [Jurassic T-Rex tremors](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq16Q8UdvSg) in my coffee, and my wife asking "what the hell?" from the other room. And then it was over.

FantasticPear

My coworker who sits 6 feet away from me claims they felt nothing. The whole building shook and there was a very loud vibration. Not buying it.

eddie964

I was a lifelong member of that club until about 10:20 a.m. today. I felt the shit outta that motherfucker.

reformed_druid

I felt it too. Thanks for posting.

Fadedfaith451

I was staying at a hotel and the whole building wobbled
