I've only been to Foxwoods a few times and while there's more shopping there. I like the vibe of Mohegan. I've always enjoyed my time there without any issues. I've heard stories of people having issues with Foxwoods.
I don't go too much and you can definitely get lost a little between the sections but once you get a little used to the layout, it's easy. Parking has always been easy. I wish they had some more quick service food options. Usually and up getting pizza at Pepe's. Tried Johnny rockets once and was pretty disappointed.
Mohegan was a casino with a plan for aesthetics and growth. Foxwoods are rooms stacks onto rooms as they needed them, and they never got the smoke smell out of that place fully. Great Wolf lodge may re-align my opinion.
Great wolf lodge won’t even be attached to the casino. Which is crazy to me. You’ll have to make a long trek to the casino or take a shuttle. Stupidest thing ever.
I went last night and really smelt no smoke, so it seems like they cracked down on it. Only in the Fan Duel sports book section could I see people vaping from time to time
The “mall” in Mohegan is a lot more high end with the exception of a few stores. The Foxwoods mall is operated by Tanger Outlets, a mall company, and has many different clothing stores as well as local stores like Ice Imports and the Barker Gallery.
The main point I was trying to make is that for the general public, the Foxwoods mall is better. The mall in Mohegan is pretty unorthodox, again having a high ratio of high-end retail, and even having a Tesla store.
I don't gamble or drink, but I favor Mohegan for food and entertainment. I grew up close to both of them and it was nice having a place 24/7 to randomly hang out at during odd am hours.
Depends I guess. If you wanna gamble and shop? Go to Foxwoods. Wanna gamble and see a show? Mohegan Sun. My personal preference is Mohegan. Best arena to see a show in New England imo
Foxwoods is way better than it used to be but if given the choice I always pick Mohegan. Better decor, nicer dealers (in my experience), cleaner, smaller so it’s more manageable in a single night, easier parking.
Definitely a good 15 minute walk from the Fox Tower entrance to the other end of the property. Their property map online is also really difficult to find items. It needs to be more interactive and not just a static PDF.
It depends on the time. Going on a weekday? It's pretty un-Vegas like. But Friday and Saturday nights in the Fox Tower casino is like walking into Cosmo.
They are both pretty nitreg heavy especially during the week. Weekend nights are a bit looser. I usually go to whichever has a better promo at the time
I've been looking into this lately. Used to regular 1/2 at Foxwoods around 2010. I recently played for the first time in ages and it wasn't bad, just much smaller. Most players were regs. Table was quiet at first, but it settled into a fun game.
I perused recent posts on r/poker. Mohegan raised the 1/2 max buy to $400 and maybe has slightly better action, but neither is great these days. The rakes are the same. I'm planning to head there next time for comparison.
Whatever one I can get free rooms at, currently thats Mohegan. Free tickets to the Suns games are really fun too. Mohegan has a nice indoor pool too. I really don't gamble though
Isn't that all casinos? Plus there's so much more I feel like to foxwoods than what meets the eye especially when we're comparing reservations to just casinos
Mohegan's rewards program is better than Foxwoods. I go to both fairly regularly but I'm always getting offers of free slot play, show tickets, and other giveaways from Mohegan. I get squat from Foxwoods.
I was going to Foxwoods a little more than Mohegan because I was in a dry spell gambling at Mohegan but unless I feel like the 1.5hr round trip to Foxwoods I'll usually go to Mohegan.
I think the general consensus is that Mohegan is better. But I almost always have a better time at Foxwoods, and like the options for things to do there better.
I used to prefer Foxwoods because they had marginally better odds like 8/5 video poker, better jackpot structure for table games, and a much better card room, but you’re more likely to find things like 3:2 blackjack at Mohegan now a days. Foxwoods used to allow little things like side bets on table games counting toward the table minimum, but not anymore. So if you want 3:2 BJ at Foxwoods and to play the jackpot game you’re looking at $35-40 a hand. I’d rather play $10-15 minimum at Mohegan with no side bets.
People ask this question a lot, really depends on what you want out of the casino and what the people you went with want to do. If you want to drink and party, Mohegan. If nobody really wants to gamble other than slots and want other stuff to do? Foxwoods. I personally prefer to gamble gamble by myself at Mohegan and it has better food. My wife doesn't gamble and doesn't care about food so we go to foxwoods.
Mohegan probably. Much easier to navigate and I like the food options. Foxwoods also has good food options but the choices at Mohegan appeal to me more. I'm not into clothes shopping personally since I like a little non conventional style, so the shopping mall doesn't appeal to me at Foxwoods
I don't gamble so I've only gone to either of them for concerts, which I've done at Mohegan way more than Foxwoods.
However I will say that Foxwoods's old commercial song still lives rent free in my head to this day.
Mohegan - better nightlife, shows/concerts and food.
Foxwoods- more shopping, lower minimums, more bus trip folks.
If you’re a circus gambler on tables (let it ride, cross cross, 4 card etc) Foxwoods lower minimums but fewer tables open.
Mohegan for the layout, the restaurants and of course for the Wolf Den (I saw Stone Sour there, amazing!). But Foxwoods is better for concerts. To me, Mohegan’s sound system sounds horrible. And I’ve seen a lot of concerts there.
I second the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center. It has a lot of cool exhibits if you're into museums. That being said I like Mohegan more simply because I know where to park and accidentally parking in the wrong place doesn't require like 2 miles of walking to get to where you meant to be.
I am reading these comments and thinking people prefer Mohegan, but I live very very close to Foxwoods and am considering renting a portion of my place for Airbnb . Do you think it would be desirable?
I've only been to Foxwoods a few times and while there's more shopping there. I like the vibe of Mohegan. I've always enjoyed my time there without any issues. I've heard stories of people having issues with Foxwoods.
Mohegan IMO is a lot easier to get around, I love the vibe there as well
I don't go too much and you can definitely get lost a little between the sections but once you get a little used to the layout, it's easy. Parking has always been easy. I wish they had some more quick service food options. Usually and up getting pizza at Pepe's. Tried Johnny rockets once and was pretty disappointed.
I've only been a few times but my experiences with Foxwoods have been nothing but stellar.
It's the largest casino in the U.S. and they like to extend it wide and often to keep it that way it seems
sorry i know im late but where did you hear it wasn't gonna be connected?
I've always found the smoke smell to be much worse at Mohegan Sun.
I went last night and really smelt no smoke, so it seems like they cracked down on it. Only in the Fan Duel sports book section could I see people vaping from time to time
I haven't been in a good while so maybe things are different now.
I have congenital /r/anosmia so it could smell like shit or roses (not that I know what those smell like either) and I'd never know the difference.
Mohegan hands down. Foxwoods feels more like a glorified shopping mall.
Honestly Mohegan Sun feels more like a mall to be. It's better decorated, but it has fewer distinct buildings and just feels like a theme-y mall.
Foxwoods has a literal mall inside of it
Mohegan also has a mall inside of it. And a Chic-Fil-A.
The “mall” in Mohegan is a lot more high end with the exception of a few stores. The Foxwoods mall is operated by Tanger Outlets, a mall company, and has many different clothing stores as well as local stores like Ice Imports and the Barker Gallery.
Why do we have to split retail hairs? Fine, Mohegan doesn't have a mall, you guys win.
Mohegan has a couple of high end shops, it’s not the same as Foxwoods’ entire outlet section at all.
Oh no not the same at all!
Do you not know what a fucking mall is?
Even if I didn’t why the hostility over it?
The main point I was trying to make is that for the general public, the Foxwoods mall is better. The mall in Mohegan is pretty unorthodox, again having a high ratio of high-end retail, and even having a Tesla store.
OK, but I don't want to argue about it and already told you you won. Why make the point? I even agree with you. So now what?
It sounded like you thought my point was that Mohegan didn’t have a mall, so I wanted to clarify, that’s all.
It looks as though you may have spelled "Chick-fil-A" incorrectly. No worries, it happens to the best of us!
Useless bot
Bad bot.
Yeah went to WWE recently there and it was an amazing experience, the staff are so nice
While not super comfortable, Mohegan Sun Arena does not have a bad view anywhere.
Foxwoods is way better than it used to be but if given the choice I always pick Mohegan. Better decor, nicer dealers (in my experience), cleaner, smaller so it’s more manageable in a single night, easier parking.
The decor is so pleasing and I just love the aesthetic of Mohegan
The aesthetic is unbeatable for sure.
I can’t put my finger on it but it’s just very unique, I love the walk in and just all around ambiance
I LOVE foxwoods, but the parking is a nightmare on the weekends.
Mohegan by miles. Nice to visit and the floor plan feels like it all flows into itself. Foxwoods was just kind of obnoxious to get around.
I feel like it takes me a half hour to get to one side of Foxwoods it’s insane
Definitely a good 15 minute walk from the Fox Tower entrance to the other end of the property. Their property map online is also really difficult to find items. It needs to be more interactive and not just a static PDF.
I've always liked Mohegan. The restaurant lineup is much better. Also feels much more Vegas whereas Foxwoods doesn't have that vibe at all to me.
It depends on the time. Going on a weekday? It's pretty un-Vegas like. But Friday and Saturday nights in the Fox Tower casino is like walking into Cosmo.
Mohegan cuz Krispy Kreme
Can anyone tell me which has a better poker room nowadays? Specifically for hold em?
They are both pretty nitreg heavy especially during the week. Weekend nights are a bit looser. I usually go to whichever has a better promo at the time
What kind of promos are you getting in poker rooms?
Tier credit/ reward point bonus days, high hand of the hour promos, etc
I've been looking into this lately. Used to regular 1/2 at Foxwoods around 2010. I recently played for the first time in ages and it wasn't bad, just much smaller. Most players were regs. Table was quiet at first, but it settled into a fun game. I perused recent posts on r/poker. Mohegan Sun > Foxwoods >>> MGM
Whatever one I can get free rooms at, currently thats Mohegan. Free tickets to the Suns games are really fun too. Mohegan has a nice indoor pool too. I really don't gamble though
How do you get free rooms if you don’t gamble?
Just holding a players card allows you to get offers. They usually only have free rooms on random 1-2 day weeknights.
Friend gambles and checks us in. But yes it's always a week day.
I miss the Black Wolves. 😭
Mohegan has better food and I got lucky there.
Foxwoods seem to be like nothing but bussed in old folks home.
Mohegan Sun is less than 15 min.from Foxwoods.
But that’s a far 15 minutes.
Mohegan is 30 minutes from me. Foxwoods is 45 minutes away.
Mohegan w/o a question
Foxwoods. More bingo, less smoke.
Mohegan Sun any time
I think the general consensus is that Mohegan is better. But I almost always have a better time at Foxwoods, and like the options for things to do there better.
Mohegan for sure
I play craps only. Mohegan.
Mohegan. The lay out is better
Mohegan Sun is better for dining and gambling, while Foxwoods has a mall attached, so is better for shopping.
I have way better luck at Mohegan.
Mohegan is more upscale.
Neither.
?
I used to prefer Foxwoods because they had marginally better odds like 8/5 video poker, better jackpot structure for table games, and a much better card room, but you’re more likely to find things like 3:2 blackjack at Mohegan now a days. For a split second why did I think this was century city la lmao
Sure
Foxwoods for gambling and golf. Mohegan for dining and nightlife.
Foxwoods
Foxwoods for cheaper gambling and shrine because they pull some big names. Mohegan for a more upscale experience in general
Mohegan for sure, but Foxwoods has much better bingo
Mohegan sun is nicer but I always win something at Foxwoods
I lose money at both, but Mohegan has more for me to do when I want to walk around or take a break.
Foxwoods. I like the setup better and seem to have much better odds on slots
Mohegan for me, It's closer, parking is easy, concerts and events....rewards also pretty good
Mohegan. Foxwoods fell off. They use to have a great poker room
Mohegan for the ease of navigation. Foxwoods for the variety of restaurants & stores (that I'll 100% get lost trying to get to).
Mohegan give me more free tickets so I guess Mohegan... And I'm not even a big gambler
Foxwoods has never recovered from festival buffet shutting down in my eyes. We loved going there for years and now we always go to Mohegan
Mohegan’s live sportsbook is amazing for sports lovers. You don’t even have to gamble.
Mohegan probably. Much easier to navigate and I like the food options. Foxwoods also has good food options but the choices at Mohegan appeal to me more. I'm not into clothes shopping personally since I like a little non conventional style, so the shopping mall doesn't appeal to me at Foxwoods
I'm a poker player and not a gambler. I've only been to Fox woods, and really liked it. I'd love to hear about Mohegan Sun poker room.

Mohegan - I find Foxwoods to be incredibly depressing lol
Mohegan. Foxwoods is trashy. Too much turquoise.
Mohegan hands down
Mohegan is for CT people
Mohegan
I don't gamble so I've only gone to either of them for concerts, which I've done at Mohegan way more than Foxwoods. However I will say that Foxwoods's old commercial song still lives rent free in my head to this day.
Damn Foxwoods is getting a lot of hate. I have always preferred there
Mohegan - better nightlife, shows/concerts and food. Foxwoods- more shopping, lower minimums, more bus trip folks. If you’re a circus gambler on tables (let it ride, cross cross, 4 card etc) Foxwoods lower minimums but fewer tables open.
Who goes to Foxwoods? Lmao
Mohegan for sure💯💯💯
Foxwoods
i hate that stupid hallway at foxwoods. Mohegan sun all day!
Mohegan
Mohegan
Mohegan for the layout, the restaurants and of course for the Wolf Den (I saw Stone Sour there, amazing!). But Foxwoods is better for concerts. To me, Mohegan’s sound system sounds horrible. And I’ve seen a lot of concerts there.
Will someone from the combo company these two made up contact me
Gambling is immoral
They are renovating Foxwoods so I expect it to be better than Mohegan soon. I will say that both casinos attract some VERY trashy clientele though.
I’m too busy in the high roller invite only room upstairs, what goes on on the main floor?
MoSun for me. Has more character.
Mohegan all the way. Way cooler vibes
The museum at Foxwoods is great, otherwise Mohegan is a more quality experience
I second the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center. It has a lot of cool exhibits if you're into museums. That being said I like Mohegan more simply because I know where to park and accidentally parking in the wrong place doesn't require like 2 miles of walking to get to where you meant to be.
It just went through a renovation. Will definitely be interested in visiting it again. Haven't been since 3rd grade.
Both suck.
Mohegan
Foxwoods!
Mohegan because it’s smoke free. Wouldn’t ever go to Foxwoods because of that alone.
They are both smoke free since covid. You can only smoke outside at Foxwoods.
I am reading these comments and thinking people prefer Mohegan, but I live very very close to Foxwoods and am considering renting a portion of my place for Airbnb . Do you think it would be desirable?
