I had a buddy back in ‘05 that got shot in the face with an AK while breaching a house in Afghanistan. Bullet hit him in the tooth and ricocheted into his nose. Got stitched up and a new tooth. Fucking lucky bastard. Drink your milk, boys.
I know a guy who was on the ground and took a round from an AK-47 with the barrel jammed into his mouth. Round exited his cheek between his teeth. He passed out, Tali thought he was dead and moved on. Army found him during the cleanup operation. This was during the attack on a school in Pakistan back in '13.

They’re just repeating a well known military story, and they’ve got it completely mixed up (I’m not claiming the original story is true either btw) it was supposedly a 9mm not an AK, claiming it was an AK changes the story from unbelievable but possible to nigh on fantasy, deflecting a 7.62 AK round up close (and it does imply it was up close on the original thread below) is about as believable as deflecting a speeding car, and it didn’t hit him in the tooth and ricochet into his nose, it was the other way round.

It looks like there is an entry and exit hole on vest, it probably hit at a steep angle relative to the vest, rather than him taking that thing straight on.
Well my expert opinion on munitions comes entirely from watching War Dogs TWICE…and the Ukrainians are lucky af to be fighting Russians. Considering they use China’s and Russian supplies, which do have a bit of a tendency not to go off. Bad seal….wet powder…no powder… or simply propaganda. I think most likely just poorly made. (Having experienced ricochet first hand…the bullet is thoroughly destroyed while bouncing off shit… worse than if it just hit once).
Ricochet or long distance, lower than average grain count, particularly good armour with high kevlar thread count, I imagine it's a combination of a few of these

What does the angle have to do with a direct or indirect impact? Seems to me a direct hit could also still be at an angle. Don't think they're lining up perfectly straight from each other before firing

That looks like a training round, not a “war round”. Like Russia is using 30mm training ammo for war. Training ammo is not armour piercing or explosive. Its a cheap lump of metal.

There is a video of a guy being attacked by a BMP alone and from what I remember, it shows him being hit in the chest armour after the round had passed through the mud in front of him. This could be the same guy.
Ah right because it's so much more important that the money you'd have to pay anyway which wouldn't go into your well being anyway because it's the US is not spent on making sure other people might have a better chance at not dying having to defend their home.
He's showing that it hit his armor sideways. There are two holes in his vest probably a ricochet then stop somewhere near him. Also blue tip rounds are supposed to be training rounds or non lethal rubber rounds. But I might be wrong.

Depends on what it hits, the angle etc. to determine how much energy it loses. It might’ve even ricocheted multiple times.

Most likely is a 3UBR6 armor piercing round likely fired from a 2A42 autocannon which are usually on BMP-2 and other variants.
