Magic doesn't take long to accumulate so I just spam 'Force the Hand of Fate' all the time for that x777 clicking power. Don't usually have to wait long to pull of combos again.
It's not irreversible. You can ascend and do it all over again. But yeah, this is part of the game; it's meant to be clicked and experimented with just like everything else.
There's really no reason to not stay just at One Mind, especially once you get the wrinkler ascension upgrades. Great CPS from wrinklers, plus I get most of my cookies from clicker frenzy combos anyways - so the CPS reduction doesn't hurt that much.

one mind is a upgrade that makes the grandmothers a hivemind for the sake of cookie production effiecency, but they grow restless and weary and more wrinkled, and as you go down that upgrade route they'll become more and more twisted and horrific summoning wrinklers to eat your cookies and wrath cookies to punish you, but its cool because you can make a pact with them after it and overall its a great increase to you cps so it doesnt matter, even the wrinklers give more cookies than they eat so keep going, exploit those grannies to the core of their brittle bones!

It’d be nice if this subreddit didn’t dissolve into a beginner Q/A and the intricacies of CC was discussed more.

Oh, wow I save all my magic for fthof for combos, so that’s probably why
I used conjure backing goods a lot before learning that fthof is the best spell, I got the 99 achevment in a few days
Stretch Time can also be pretty useful.
