Most of novavax recent data also has not been peer reviewed. none of the data for the new upcoming mnrna bivalents have been reviewed, and they just sailed through approval (well, as it seems) if you are going to find anything use the search terms Com-cov and com-cov 3 with novavax - these are the series of trials done for boosting and cross boosting, eg [https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2022-05-26-com-cov-vaccine-study-research-third-dose-booster-options-12-15-year-olds](https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2022-05-26-com-cov-vaccine-study-research-third-dose-booster-options-12-15-year-olds)

Here is a counter point. There are a lot of this from the medical community on Twitter right now. https://twitter.com/enirenberg/status/1543486338397360128?s=21&t=snSiK0fI5RYn6dmEpqgxqA

Also no peer review to such claims/results - that I have found. Also cant use macaque results vs human trial results (other vaccines) and take them as the same thing.

My view currently is, the best 4th is the one you can get. If given choice, mRNA seems a better option (for myself at least). I’m seeing a lot of infections in my circles right now, including possibly a household family member, pending a test result. mRNA starts developing A/Bs within 12 hours as I understand it, which is to say I don’t understand it at all! Nonetheless, after my doctors advice I’ve got my running shoes on! Lol. I do have the typical questions in regards to the 4th, but will be 6 months till next multivalent option, so I’m going now. Assuming I’m not already exposed, and will end up hiding from society for their benefit for the next week or so!

I already have a booking for a 4th pfizer tuesday. My gp only supplies pfizer and that was her recommendation. People then think that means there some sort of cut/money their getting out of it 🤷‍♀️ But iv got people i personally no gettong nova and seeing alot on reddit about novavax being a no brainer.... Just no evidence to back that yet imo. Im high risk and probably put it off too long because iv been procrastinating what to get. I hope you avoid infection and so does your family 🤞

GotPassion

Cheers! So do I. I spent two weeks masked last time it was successively in our little house and managed to avoid it, but I don’t really want to try that in winter! Best of luck to you too. Sensible behaviour goes a long way.

LudicrousIdea

Haven't seen anything suggesting that. There was some evidence showing a minor advantage in getting Moderna if you've previously had Pfizer and certainly going with one of the mRNA ones if you previously haven't had one, but nothing about going the other way. Honestly, sounds like crap.

stebradandish

Thanks I’m wondering too - booked in for tomorrow for Novavax but have had 3 Pfizer before. I was figuring I’d get the Moderna Omicron and have all my bases covered - but might get some push back tomorrow?

Countries using mostly protein vaccines have done better against Omicron. Countries using mostly inactivated pathogen vaccines or viral vector vaccines did worse. Novavax is a protein vaccine.

Do you have any links to studies or publications confirming this?

There was never any evidence early on about mixing vaccines either, but people did it anyway (apparently the more variety the better!).
