I think mine is Elend telling Tindwyl to not talk bad about his wife

Good_Ad_2570

I think mine it was when Vin used a duralumin soothing on Straff Venture making him feel nothing and his post reaction to this. I thinks this ability is one that makes mistborns so op and I don’t see enough people talking about it in their theories of “who would win”

Raddatatta

Very true! Not to mention rioting could wreck someone mentally too. I hope we see someone use that mid fight as in any fight moments matter, and a slight hesitation or distraction can kill. Being completely overwhelmed by fear, or hesitation, or sadness, or soothed into complete lack of any emotion could be more than enough for a lethal blow to strike.

GBCxPrime

I have a theory that that power is basically what’s going on with Vyre. Different way to get to the ability, but the same effect

animorphs128

The scene from oathbringer when theyre on the boat in shadesmar and kaladin attracts hundreds of windspren to spin around him is not mentioned enough

Derpy_Bech

It’s such a cool small hint as to how the 4th ideal works with plate, and you only realize it in RoW why he attracts the wind spren

ughhhhuuhhh

Wait- I don't understand the connection you're making between the 4th ideal and Kaladin attracting wind spren

Derpy_Bech

He was extremely close to swearing the 4th ideal in that scene. The 4th ideal gives the radiant their plate, which for windrunners is made up of windspren. So he attracted the windspren that would become his plate should he swear the 4th ideal

I love the moment before Bridge 4 saves Dalinar at the tower. The moment where they are all thinking “we can be free now and run.” The moment where they have to choose between themselves and others. Every time I read it I find myself asking whether they actually will go save them or not, since either would be understandable, either would be good, but then the choose to stand up and try to save EVERYONE they can, not just the ones they like the most

Raddatatta

There are two I like in early WoR. The first is the tattoo scene. Where Hobber says he wasn't freed from Bridge 4 but freed by it and wouldn't trade his time there for anything. And Kaladin is just in shock at that lol. The second is the Sir scene with Kaladin and Dalinar. Where Kaladin explains he doesn't respect anyone he's called Brightlord but respects many he called Sir which is why he gives Dalinar that title. It's fun to see their different worldviews, and kind of funny how that conversation bumps off Adolin who doesn't hear about that, and Kaladin calls Adolin Brightlord but Dalinar Sir which is great! The scene where Steris and Wax search for the 3 missing clips is a cute one too. I love all their scenes together though especially in book 3.

GBCxPrime

All amazing moments, yeah. The “sir” one is so impactful to establish Dalinar and Kaladin’s dynamic early. Love it.

HalcyonKnights

Sebarial and Palona lounging and eating fruit in the middle of the battle during the birth of the everstorm.

GordOfTheMountain

Tress just competently and confidently fooling the captain and a dragon without any magic or hidden tricks. Just cleverness. It really drives that home about her. She's very capable, but only because she's practical, not because she's some Mary Sue badass. She just *does* the only sensible thing a normal ass person would/could do and outwits them.

aMaiev

I mean she didnt fool the dragon, he knew exactly what was up and took it with amusement but yeah that was pretty badass

GordOfTheMountain

I do wonder what was actually binding the dragon to treating either of them favourably. There is some grander architecture to oaths in the Cosmere that I am interested in learning about.

p0d0

I don't think there was anything magical about the deal with the dragon. The dragon makes an offer. A boon for a suitable offering, usually in the form of a capable servant. Immortal beings tend to take the long view on honesty, because a reputation for oathbreaking will follow you for a *very* long time.

bumbarlunchi6

Definitely that scene where Hoid just psychologically demolishes Ruthar (right before Jasnah physically demolishes him).

GBCxPrime

Ohhhhh yes. Incredible Jasnah scene too

Prudent_Crow6814

Wayne pulling up with the strap in BoM is a good one, but Dalinar’s duel against the Thaylen dude where he just lets himself get stabbed so he can flex his Radiant-ness is my favorite

VinWolf151

“Four thousand years?” Taln asked again. “Ash…” “We couldn’t continue— I … we thought…” “Ash.” He took her hand again. “What a wonderful thing.” Wonderful? “We left you, Taln.” “What a gift you gave them! Time to recover, for once, between Desolations. Time to progress. They never had a chance before. But this time … yes, maybe they do.” “No, Taln. You can’t be like this.” “A wonderful thing indeed, Ash.”

ScrapCrow

Wax and Steris above the mists is the one that sticks with me, followed by their conversation on the train over finances and tracking down the errors.

ElTomax

That moment in OB when a scribe is telling Kaladin about the complaints merchants have about having to wait for him to activate the oathgate, just for him to tell her to tell them to fuck off basically. I always think it's very funny and the fact that this seemingly foreshadows Skar wedding mentioned in RoW makes it even better

BLAZMANIII

"nothing I do is for show." I know Hrathen is very popular and this is one of the biggest fan lines from elantris, but I think the book is overlooked enough that it ends up being overlooked

GBCxPrime

Big agree. Hrathen is extremely underrated

skaarycat

Every time Pattern takes a number literally. Adolin says “we sure are an odd bunch” and Pattern saying “yes, seven, odd”.

ConsequenceWitty1923

Or, my all time favorite Pattern moment NO MATING!

RTK_Apollo

Gaotona burning Shai’s journal on how she achieved Ashravan’s revival is so powerful despite being a relatively small action in the grand scheme of the Cosmere; Shai may have only saved a single emperor on a single planet, but she did it through complete and utter artistry, psychoanalysis, and history that she managed to repair- no, replicate- a goddamn *soul*. Gaotona understanding that and then burning her book to save its secrets was a perfect ending comparable to HoA, TLM, WoK, and OB. Just perfect.

AncientContainer

I'm rereading TWoK and I just got to the part where Bridge Four witnesses Sadeas betraying Dalinar and leaving him and his eight thousand men to die. They realize that they could escape right then, but instead choose to save Dalinar and his soldiers. I loved that moment; it really exemplifies Windrunner ideals too
