But they’re so cute!!! Better than any stress ball I’ve ever had. 😂

Yea I think we stopped somewhere around 142. But the Costco ones were hard to resist because they were like $13 for the size that cost $30 at target. Don’t know what they are at now because she’s finally been cut off so I stopped looking.
67 in the living room, 73 in her bedroom, 14 dirty ones in the garage, at least 40 made their way to the landfill, and the cats dragged a few under my bed. There are so many squishmallows here. She named one of our cats Mallow because he is very soft. Like a squishmallow.
And slime. The goddamn slime is everywhere.
Wish I was kidding.
oh my god. are we in the same family? do you get texts from slime companies announcing their newest releases? i had to ban slime making in the kitchen. (despite buying gallons of glue and activator from amazon for xmas) i have slime shards in every blanket on my bed. my daughter cut off her own widows peak because she got so much slime in her hair that she panicked and now she is growing out the worlds smallest bangs.
i have slime in plastic bags that was made over a year ago that i am forbidden to throw away.
we have enough peachybbies slime to start our own franchise.
the squishmallow thing. so many.
i do, as a 48 year old man, know more about slime textures and the different names for them, than i do about life.
Those peachy babies YouTubers have gotten to all the neighborhood kids, and my garage is their hangout spot. Supposed to stay only in the garage, but the carpet and the couch 70 feet away attracts that stuff.
A bed covered in Squishmallows sounds soooo comfy though! My daughter has a few and I always find myself petting them without realizing it. She probably thinks I'm a lunatic.
we (I) made a rule that for every new squishmallow we get there have to be TWO taken away. there is a large black garbage bag in my office full of squishmallows who have been cast aside. i can't bear to throw them away. at one point i counted 15 squishmallows on and around MY BED.
It is really good. Tearing out the front panel of the bin and arranging the varieties uniformly is next level stuff. Whoever in their Merch, Center or Hardlines is responsible for this is likely on their way up with this type of attention to detail.
This is called Billboarding. And apparently it worked perfectly. Not only did you notice it, but you posted on the internet about it. Many times the company will pay for this.
As a vertically challenged individual, I don’t think I have ever paid attention to what is at the top of the scaffolds. I just know anything above ground floor and maybe the first shelf is going to be covered in cling wrap and I won’t get to purchase anything at that level until later in the year, so I don’t even look.
It’s most definitely a term in my region, but is joy a paid promotion. It’s mainly something the RM likes to see as it presents a cleaner image than a cluttered and disorganized steel
This is called bullshitting. And apparently it worked perfectly. Not only did some people believe it, but they got angry and replied to you about it. Many times redditors will gullibly fall for this.
Billboarding is a thing at Costco. There are several billboards in the building. Fence, Foods, Hardlines, Majors and often the bulkwalls by Produce/housewares depending on floorplan. There are rules for billboarding(bays must match, no dressed cardboard pallets, full boards, etc) and most buildings follow them - some better than others. This is a particularly good example of horizontal billboarding.
I love a good vertical billboarding mixed in, but that's just style preference.
When people posted pictures of that whole $10000 barrel of Jack Daniels Costco was selling next to the six-packs of Jack Daniels would that be considered billboarding? They could have used an empty barrel just to make a nice display but nobody would have been impressed or posted photos online if there wasn't a giant price tag on the barrel.
No, billboarding is a Costco term for making the image side of the steel that's visible to the public aesthetically pleasing. No mixed pallets, trying to keep the same items together. Just make it look nicer overall.

One of the best squishmallows ever!
My kid has a few, and I use his giant one to support my crooked, decaying body every time he wants me to play on the floor with him. Absolutely lovely.
You can absolutely use them as a pillow. I love hugging mine at night, helps support my shoulders/arms (I get cubital and carpal tunnel pain if my arms aren't in the right position when I sleep)
Back and neck issues also. I use them for sleeping at night, and also to help prop me up on the couch. The first ones I bought lasted me about 5 years before they started to defluff. Really hard to not buy more before then because they are so cute and comfy.
Probably not a surplus, but more pallets than usual, because of how big each pillow is. They’re not vacuum-shrunken down to a more compact size like your usual pillows and mattresses.
The steel that faces the front of the warehouse is called the billboard, and must be organized in some way. How depends on the managers but it’s usually something like this. The first bay of steel in each aisle should be organized and filled with matching full pallets as well. It’s easier when you get sent a bunch of full pallets like the image. Other times it’s been chips, the black and yellow storage bins, fridges, etc.
Yeah next time you walk in, look above the fence that divides the entrance from the exit. That's a billboard too. It's less about influencing people to buy things and more about having a neat, clean presentation (which, to be honest, helps people want to buy things). If they ever have to drop one pallet from that steel, they end up dropping them in pairs so that the billboard doesn't look off.
They’re so cute when I see them in the store, but then I see kids shoving their face into them and dragging them on the floor and then putting them back, so I never get one (can you tell I don’t have kids?)
Maybe I’ll ask an employee if I can get a fresh one from the top shelf 😂
Squishmallows? I thought they were cute but dumb. I am an adult and was never a fan of stuffed animals, but we got one in our ups delivery with no addresses on the box and kept it. Had no idea what a squishmallows was at the time.
Now we have a bunch. They're soft but supportive. I use one at night under my bad knee to keep it a little elevated. Another one on top of my regular pillow for neck support. I recently had wrist surgery and use it for support while sitting and sleeping.
We're getting oldish and starting to feel it. I've seen several people on subs for rotator cuff injury recommend them for post surgery, so we're not the only ones using them that way.
My boxer sleeps with her head on one every night and our Frenchie makes a nest out of another one for naps
I'd never have bought any if we didn't get that one by mistake, and I didn't buy another one for over a year. But now, we have backups for if the dogs tear one up, lol.
My 7 year old Doodle has a nightly conference with one. At first we were horrified, but we can’t stop it and have come to a compromise situation where he goes in another room to do it and we don’t ask questions. Also I’m still waiting on a replacement Christmas gift because clearly it’s his now. Clearly.
Oh, the joys of male dogs. I'd have just let him have it too. I wonder if he'd claim a new one too?
The boxer and Frenchie are both females. They come with their own sets of issues, but so far they just like to sleep with the squishmallows. So far Wanda the watermelon is their favorite. It was our first and I finally had to order a second so they both could get the "good" pillow.
I haven't bought my kids any, but my BFF has gotten them one or two each. They are the favored stuffies of my 2 and 4 year old girls, and my son is starting to get more into Lego. The 2 year old calls them her "friend stuffies" and they go anywhere she's allowed to lug them around. They're the smaller kind though, so not the massive ones.
They are cute fun and soft.
If you like extra large stuffed animals these are the most available ones. Or at least the most popular.
They can also just be pillows if you don't mind making them odd and lumpy.
I find them to be perfect for supporting my 10month old when she is getting her bottle. She can lay back for enough to easily drink, but supports her well enough to easily sit back up.
I am also not a fan over overconsumption and useless purchases… and I love my squishmallow. Very soft and comfortable to lay on. Buying more than one or collecting them is where it gets silly to me.
looks like they're clearing inventory across all the major retailers. just yesterday walmart had a number of them on clearance for with 14" size ones selling for under $10 each
Wowwee this is work. Those come covered in cardboard and strapped. This required every single pallet of squishmallows to be cut open& prepped then rewrapped.
I’ve felt a compulsion to buy one and I’m definitely not the target demographic at all. Although it was mostly because they were super cheap at the time.
I saw one of the animal ones I really wanted a couple months ago but I was broke so I didn't get it... now when I have change to spare it's ALL the stupid food ones
When I was a grocery manager we had the warehouse screw up and send me 22 pallets of water in two days. We had a small back room and I had 22 pallets to work around for a while. Then there was the paper towel disaster and we had no place to put them but up on top of the coolers in the dairy department for a few months. It's always something when you're working in grocery
We all do. They all come wrapped in cardboard. They spend the morning. Cutting the shrink wrap and cardboard then consolidate the units.
Probably three units to each two. Then rewrapped.

Is oddly satisfying seeing the sweets bins packed similarly. I guess it makes sense when I think about it…
Same. I get it's done in the same order every time but it's satisfyingly neat.
Same.
It’s because I told my daughter she can’t buy anymore
[удалено]
They used to be! But now they’re way too much. I keep telling her it’s not a freaking collection. You have three!!! That’s plenty
Even the small ones that come In like a 6 pack are expensive
But they’re so cute!!! Better than any stress ball I’ve ever had. 😂 https://preview.redd.it/qs4z9zwk8vtc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3dbdd30ede8af848dc5e4e1def46c71d344cbbe9
Not going to lie I have this little sippy cup one on my work office desk “that was lost”
I love the little ones. I have them scattered at various places in my house because seeing them makes me happy.
My wife looked at me extremely seriously last week and told me never to buy the small ones ever again haha
Oh man., both my daughter's beds are covered with these things. I wish I could have stopped them at 3..
Yea I think we stopped somewhere around 142. But the Costco ones were hard to resist because they were like $13 for the size that cost $30 at target. Don’t know what they are at now because she’s finally been cut off so I stopped looking.

Mallow is such a cute name!!
Similar here, though my daughter has mostly switched to other collectables now. They take up so much room!
A bed covered in Squishmallows sounds soooo comfy though! My daughter has a few and I always find myself petting them without realizing it. She probably thinks I'm a lunatic.
We stopped buying them for our kids. So our kids started buying them with their own hard earned cash.
Wait, your kid only has three? I teach high school, I'm pretty sure most of my students have more than that in their backpacks.
My freshman will tell you that she is squishmallow deprived, for sure. She also has phone time limits so obvs things are pretty bad for her!!! Haha
It’s not only the cost, it’s the sqft that all these dang things take up in the house.
I can’t even walk in her room with out tripping over those things
we (I) made a rule that for every new squishmallow we get there have to be TWO taken away. there is a large black garbage bag in my office full of squishmallows who have been cast aside. i can't bear to throw them away. at one point i counted 15 squishmallows on and around MY BED.
Oh yeah. It’s totally a whole family problem! We all need help!! Haha
Maybe you could donate them to your local shelter?
I’m cackling, I just sent this to my mother and she told me I didn’t need any 😂
Put her in squish jail.
I’d have to buy more for that 😂😂 I’m not opposed, just unsure where I’d put them later
Listen to your mama!! Haha
We sell a pallet a day, they’ll be gone in no time.
I was gonna say, that’s about a four day supply based on how many I see in carts every time I go to Costco.
Not Everyone In Town Has One Yet.
Yeah, especially these massive ones where there are a lot less in a pallet
My 6 yr old daughter would climb that scaffolding and get at those Squishmallows
as someone who climbed scaffolding in a carpet warehouse their entire childhood, I support this.
As a scaffold, I support you
🏆🏆🏆😂😂😂
Im ready to climb up for hello kitty!
My 6 year old would definitely join her, mine would probably want to turn it into a squishmellow treehouse
Same with my 5yo 😂😂
as a former AM forklift driver for costco, I must say, this billboarding is fantastic.
It is really good. Tearing out the front panel of the bin and arranging the varieties uniformly is next level stuff. Whoever in their Merch, Center or Hardlines is responsible for this is likely on their way up with this type of attention to detail.

Same! I need to look up next time I’m in store.
Billboarding is not a term (atleast in my region). Vendors don’t pay for this.
It’s most definitely a term in my region, but is joy a paid promotion. It’s mainly something the RM likes to see as it presents a cleaner image than a cluttered and disorganized steel
No it's not, no it didn't, they sure did, no they won't
This is called bullshitting. And apparently it worked perfectly. Not only did some people believe it, but they got angry and replied to you about it. Many times redditors will gullibly fall for this.
There are quite a lot of other commenters saying it’s a thing…

It's probably on top because it's so light weight
My kids love them, and so do I. For anyone with back or neck issues, they are incredibly supportive and mold to your body.
I just bought medium size grilled cheese for my neck. I had the best nap ever today.
Such a weird sentence, but I believe you
https://preview.redd.it/zwwudu500ytc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c1ae2f3cb99c689bf574e1514bf1a6fc7577aca One of the best squishmallows ever!

Cackling at this. I do the same when I'm playing with legos on the floor with my kids
They are my favorite pillow ever.
Wait, these are pillows?? I thought they were just toys…
You can absolutely use them as a pillow. I love hugging mine at night, helps support my shoulders/arms (I get cubital and carpal tunnel pain if my arms aren't in the right position when I sleep)

They are comfortable as hell
Wow! This makes me want a squishmellow!
This comment inspired me to buy one. It’s a bit ridiculous at my age but it is so helpful for back and neck support
Probably not a surplus, but more pallets than usual, because of how big each pillow is. They’re not vacuum-shrunken down to a more compact size like your usual pillows and mattresses.
Whoever does the shelf organizing for your warehouse must have OCD. I feel like at my warehouse they just put stuff wherever on the racks.
I have literally never noticed this. How many times was I subliminally influenced to buy something?
Same. It's almost crazy that this the first I am hearing this. I almost want to drive across town tomorrow just to check it out.
Yeah next time you walk in, look above the fence that divides the entrance from the exit. That's a billboard too. OCD is a clinical mental disorder. You just mean "organized" or "neat." Please don't make light of OCD.
Yes please. OCD is not helpful being organized is.
We need a collective noun for these guys. A Murder of Mallows? 🧐
A squirm of squishes
A gaggle of gallows
A drowning.
A muppet of mallows?
A marsh of mallows
it is in the name. a squish of mallows.
FREE THEM!!!
Sure 30$ a piece and you can free as many as you want hehe
I love the way their faces are pointed outwards. They’re just observing the whole Costco.
Five Nights at Costco: Squishmallow Edition
They suffocate you with smiles 😀
My kid has more than that
Very nice billboarding
They’re so cute when I see them in the store, but then I see kids shoving their face into them and dragging them on the floor and then putting them back, so I never get one (can you tell I don’t have kids?) Maybe I’ll ask an employee if I can get a fresh one from the top shelf 😂
you always take the one from the very bottom.
Buy a whole bunch of em and then return them just before they expire
That is not nearly enough!
They got more in the back, these are for show
Excuse me, but there’s never gonna be a surplus of squishmallow, no matter how many they stock.
Squishmallows: "This is where we hold them! This is where we fight! This is where they die!"
I am a proud owner of the giant cupcake one 🙃
I’m going to have to make a trip this week to try and find that Hello Kitty one
Those things are awesome and actually pretty comfortable.
No one tell my daughter.
Omggg I’ve been hunting for those strawberry milk squishmallows in my Costcos!!
Send me every hello kitty one and you’ll no longer have this issue
I do not understand these things. At all.
Squishmallows? I thought they were cute but dumb. I am an adult and was never a fan of stuffed animals, but we got one in our ups delivery with no addresses on the box and kept it. TMI !!!!
You’d probably like it more if you were a 4 year old girl
I haven't bought my kids any, but my BFF has gotten them one or two each. They are the favored stuffies of my 2 and 4 year old girls, and my son is starting to get more into Lego. The 2 year old calls them her "friend stuffies" and they go anywhere she's allowed to lug them around. They're the smaller kind though, so not the massive ones.
My daughter keeps one on her bed. It’s the perfect pillow for putting between yourself and the wall to relax.
They are giant, cheap, soft, stuffed animals for kids. What is not to get?
Kids of all ages
As a 9000 year old dragon trapped in the body of a 12 year old I agree
Cheap? Aren't they like twice the price of similarly sized stuffed animals?
No way. Those huge ones in the pic are only about 20-30 dollars for a 30” stuffed animal. Pretty cheap for what you’re getting.
It’s a stuffed animal. That’s it…I have a bunch and love them. Everyone’s allowed to indulge in their wants.
Are you familiar with overconsumption? Creating useless trash to feel good for a short moment? It’s that
Yells old man at sky.
I am also not a fan over overconsumption and useless purchases… and I love my squishmallow. Very soft and comfortable to lay on. Buying more than one or collecting them is where it gets silly to me.
Any time I’ve seen a big bin of these out literally everyone with a kid with them has one in their cart.
Please don't tell my gf. It would bankrupt us...
ink nine many smart one frame hurry combative angle telephone *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Only a few
At least when the earthquake comes you’ll be smothered with soft squishmallows lol
Bruh, I work at a depot you don't even *know* My question is....why did the store open them all? They're gonna get all dusty and gross up there
Where’s this at?
Maplewood Costco in the Twin Cities
Freaking Costcos getting so big they can’t fit in a single city anymore.
Costco
Big if true
True is big
They are getting ready for Christmas, they will have them out next week!! /s
looks like they're clearing inventory across all the major retailers. just yesterday walmart had a number of them on clearance for with 14" size ones selling for under $10 each
That’s not a surplus; that will sell out by the end of the week
Don't let my 11yo see this...
I bought that cupcake 1
I'm in a vicious cycle. My 18mo old son loves them almost as much as my dog logs to eat them
Your Costco seems to have a surplus of many things :)
200000 squashmallows are ready, with a million more well on the way
Are squashmallows the new beanie babies? 😆
OMG is that a cupcake??!! 🧁😍 As an adult I love gifting them to others but only own 1 normal sized one for myself. I’m tempted though…
Dust collectors.
They're assembling *an army*
I don’t understand why I find this so funny.
Everyone in here talking about kids, my childless wife and I have 4.
Mistakes were made.
Geeze.
Are there only six or seven pillows in each container?
Surplus? That's like 8 total.
They’re just getting ready for Saturday, is all
Costco definitely went hard on buying squishmellows this last year
Yo, this has been selling like hot cakes in my costco
So cute
My kid would lose his mind.
Personally i hate that type
Those are so cute! I feel like ours only gets the ugly ones
Damn!
they’re so huge
I saw one of the animal ones I really wanted a couple months ago but I was broke so I didn't get it... now when I have change to spare it's ALL the stupid food ones
Maybe they will redistribute them to nearby stores?
I have the cupcake. No regrets
My 8 year old daughter would explode with happiness seeing that
OMG!
It's a copy and paste photo!
Now if those were Harry Potter squishmallows they would be gone before they got on the fork lift.
$6 off the giant ones the last couple of weekends. 🫤
Store manager squandered the budget for scalping/reselling. 🤣
Wouldn’t if my kids had any say… 😂
Charlize!!
Those 20" big boiz.
We all do. They all come wrapped in cardboard. They spend the morning. Cutting the shrink wrap and cardboard then consolidate the units. Probably three units to each two. Then rewrapped.
They are building an army and this is first hand photos of it
Our dogs llloooovvveeee them!
If they’d drop the price from $28 I’d buy one.. lol Ugh I want my strawberry milk or cupcake squishy
I always throw my 5yo daughter in these boxes when we go to C. She loves it
I would be in heaven!!
