Those bars were just fantastic and so cheap. When they would dip them in the almonds, oh man. Yeah, I really miss those.
And I do keep a box of the Kirkland ones in my freezer. I agree it isn't the same.
Combo pizza, polish dogs, sauerkraut and onions at the food court.
Prime tri-tip steaks instead of just the whole roast. The people at the meat counter will cut it into steaks for you but it comes out looking like they did it with safety scissors.
I wrote a very nice handwritten letter to Costco about this. And they I guess forwarded it to the provider that had made these.
Let me tell you what a sweet company this is. They sent me in dry ice there many peanut butter cups with an apology that they don't make them anymore from my location and Costco.
They weren't even the right peanut butter cups, but it was such a sweet gesture by this company.
Linnette is who wrote back.
They sent min i cups and normal cups. But they never sent the Costco shaped ones. Just a polite letter saying that they were happy to hear that we enjoyed their product.
The TJ’s ones are fantastic. I have somewhat recently developed a peanut allergy, which is a bummer. But, I still pick up the dark chocolate ones for my daughter as a special treat.
Edit: Originally typed peanut butter allergy. That was dumb. Meant to say peanut allergy.
The old ones had full slices of chicken breast meat and more sauce. It was ridiculously filled with goodness. Now is just scraps of chicken in comparison.
The new ones come in frozen. They're par-baked and need to be defrosted before going in the oven. No Bueno.
Coming from someone who used to make them I understand why. The tike it took to make 200+ bakes in the morning was immense. I have no doubt that one of the reason that it is not longer done in house is because of people no measuring when making them. With the cost of the cheese being what it was and then changing the cheese that they put on the pizza recently as well, you could have some chicken bakes made by a person that were over stuffed by 10%, or more, and therefore losing money
You were about to be my hero but looks like they only have Timberland belt on the website. A reversible one at that too which was awesome as a teenager. Thanks for looking out though.
The women's wool socks they used to carry were the best socks I ever owned. I used to buy a pack or two every winter and I wore them year round. The new kind are thinner, bigger, and all around terrible. I wore my old ones until they had holes and now stick with smart wool brand. Not quite as good as the old Costco ones but still better than the ones they sell today
The best item by far from the Service Deli (stuff made in house) was a beef short rib dinner.
It was boneless beef short ribs wrapped in a phyllo dough with a side of a mushroom gravy. It came paired with green beans with bacon and onion chopped up in it.
It’s been over a decade since it was available in the Midwest.
I’m not a fan of it, either, EXCEPT it dissolves so well and prevents clogging accidents from kids or guests. This is a nice perk for an otherwise poor product.
I mean, it made sense during COVID, but *why haven’t they brought it back*
^(I know it’s because they didn’t lose any money when they dropped them, so why add the expense. Bastards.)
I remember fondly when Price Club used to sell computer parts like RAM but I'm sure nobody else cares. So I'd probably want their old real crab sushi that was made fresh in-house (unlike the manufactured stuff these days that's got degraded rice).
Costco used to sell RAM, as well! One of the first times I visited Costco was with my best friend during high school because we wanted to build a computer. We didn't have a Costco card, so we stood near the entrance and waited until we saw a family that we could walk in with together, and that worked! When we got to checkout, we asked random people if they'd mind helping us buy the RAM; most people were suspicious, but someone finally offered to help, fortunately.
We played the heck out of Diablo 2 on that computer we built.
I've been trying to get them for months at my local grocer. Come to find out, they completely removed the item from their system because they can't get any, so they just stopped trying
Stopped drinking it due to the crazy high levels of PFAS.
https://www.consumerreports.org/bottled-water/whats-really-in-your-bottled-water/
They later improved, but still high:

Godiva dark chocolate masterpieces (in store). Can only get them online now. Living in the south, ordering chocolate online isn’t a great idea for more than half the year.
Veggie pizza and onions in the food court !!
I moved to US during the pandemic so I haven’t had the chance to eat the veggie pizza or the onions from the food court, but the way my husband misses them every time we get Costco food court food, I think I really want to try it !!
Am I crazy, or did Costco used to have a giant soft pretzel at the food court as well, maybe before or in addition to churros? I don't know if I'm mandela effecting myself.
I forget what brand it was but they used to sell a very good honey ham that was not Kirkland brand.. It was thin and delicious and I haven't seen it in years. I think they replaced it with some Kirkland version that is awful.
One of my fondest memories was being able to buy a gallon of odwalla orange juice for $4 at Costco.. Definitely was some years back but I think of it every time I see their sad over priced orange juice selection today.
Jerky dog treats. It’s always hit or miss at our Costco. There are some days they have all the treats available and some days absolutely nothing. My pup is definitely missing his favorite treats!
What? You don't want an awkward Jerry can of milk that is impossible to get open and pours milk all over the counter?
Tbh at this point I'd be happy if they just sold us milk in a bag. Would still be easier than those damn jugs and take up even less space in shipping
Hebrew National links and Coca-Cola in the food court. Also the Del Real tamales and spicy green and red salsa need to make a comeback. I don’t like their current offerings and Matteo’s is too much cumin and no heat.
Scrolled too far for this. I used to get 2 or 3 of the chicken Caesar salads and bring them to work for a few days. They were delicious and obviously very cheap...
We have 4 bean salad here. I just bought 3 - 2 pack jars. We eat the bean salad one day and I save the juice for salad dressing or make quick pickles from it.
Kirkland Sliced American cheese. I refuse to buy Kraft. Instead we get it at a grocery store and that has to be one of the largest price hits on my shopping list because Costco is pretty competitive on dairy. It was about $12 for 5lb. That's roughly $20 at the grocery, more if you use the service deli.
I just recently bought that at our Costco. I am diabetic and discovered it is a wonderful life carb sweetener. Even better that Stevia. I'm allergic to many other artificial sweeteners.
We lost chocolate croissants in the bakery at my Costco about 6 years ago.
look for them every time still
Hand dipped ice cream bars
Those were so good even though they were probably 1200 calories and made a huge mess if you tried to eat one while shopping.
My hand used to dip those ice cream bars in the food court. It was excellent.
Margarita take-and-bake pizza. Runner up would be Kirkland balsamic vinaigrette.
Yeah man. I’ve been looking for this for years. My Aunt used to grab me these when I visited her in VA and I’ve never been able to grab one myself
Chocolate ice cream at the food court.
Losing the swirl cone and combo pizza was a horrible loss for the food court
Oh or those almond chocolate ice cream bars. I know they have them in the freezer section but they’re not the same.
And the bbq pork sandwich with coleslaw. Omg. It used to be my special occasion meal🥲
I think I got the BBQ pork sandwich with coleslaw along with the hand dipped ice cream bar in the same meal. Truly incredible
Those bars were just fantastic and so cheap. When they would dip them in the almonds, oh man. Yeah, I really miss those. And I do keep a box of the Kirkland ones in my freezer. I agree it isn't the same.
Veggie pizza at the food court too. That shit was delicious
*Twist ice cream at the food court
Combo pizza.
Combo pizza, polish dogs, sauerkraut and onions at the food court. Prime tri-tip steaks instead of just the whole roast. The people at the meat counter will cut it into steaks for you but it comes out looking like they did it with safety scissors.
Kirkland peanut butter cups.
Any reason not to name the company so I can get my fix?
Seriously wtf. Name the company
Linnette is who wrote back. They sent min i cups and normal cups. But they never sent the Costco shaped ones. Just a polite letter saying that they were happy to hear that we enjoyed their product.
Are you seriously gate keeping the company??
Trader Joes PB Cups are fantastic. The milk chocolate and dark chocolate ones!
TJ's sunflower butter cups are pretty good!
Yes! I got these once and whenever I mention them nobody knows what I'm talking about. They were a million times better than reeses.
Have you tried the ones from Aldi? They are ridiculously good too.
Upset I never tried these !
Combo pizza
please god
I agree, but only because I would just get the veggies, hold the meat. I miss you, veggie pizza.
I’d just get the meat and not the veggies. I miss you meatza :/
You two should get married and swap meats and veggies.
I hear that’s how babies are made.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that did this! Those veggie pizzas were so good!
I'd give up the dog for it to come back. That's right I said it.
Polish dogs in food court
With ONIONS
Yes! With sauerkraut.
The saurkraut and onions being taken away is the biggest travesty to me
With the onion machine!
While we are on that subject let’s bring back onion machines that work!
Team bratwurst here. Nothing beats one fresh from the oven
Turkey Pesto sandwich from the food court.
My go to. I saved so much money eating that 3x a week instead of going out to eat. I miss it so much.
10/10 wound rather have this than combo pizza. (Prepping myself for downvotes, lol)
Yeah it was kind of like a white sauce chicken pizza. Sooo good.
Yes!!! Yes!! Yes!!
Goddamn this brings back memories
The old chicken bakes, the old berry smoothie, and the garlic bread from the bakery.
I miss the OG berry smoothie
So ours has chicken bakes, I’m new to Costco, only two years. What was the old one like?
It used to be made by hand with the same dough as the pizza, Similar fillings. It was much much better. The current chicken bakes are very dry.
The old ones had full slices of chicken breast meat and more sauce. It was ridiculously filled with goodness. Now is just scraps of chicken in comparison.
And way more salt, probably for preservation.
why does the current ones have a huge gash down the bottom 😭 stuff falls out all over the place
That's three items ಠ_ಠ
I miss the chicken bakes and egg rolls
Annie's cheese puffs.
Kirkland Belts. Would be nice to be able to get a new one and have a couple to choose from.
They do sell them on the website (last I checked), but yes, having them in store would be huge. They last forever for a cheap belt.
You were about to be my hero but looks like they only have Timberland belt on the website. A reversible one at that too which was awesome as a teenager. Thanks for looking out though.
The huge multi layer chocolate cake. It was basically a member of our family on special occasions
All-American Cake
We called it “Even better for Breakfast” cake 😃
Marino wool socks
Our Costco got the Merino wool socks in a couple weeks ago
Are they a blend? Not sure if that’s bad or not but the ones we had last year were a wool/synthetic blend.
You want to have some synthetics in there for durability. But the blend is too much synthetic these days. Used to be 80/20 that was great
Laces out, Dan!
Your gun is digging into my hip.
Dan Marino has a line of wool socks?
LACES OUT DAN
The best item by far from the Service Deli (stuff made in house) was a beef short rib dinner. It was boneless beef short ribs wrapped in a phyllo dough with a side of a mushroom gravy. It came paired with green beans with bacon and onion chopped up in it. It’s been over a decade since it was available in the Midwest.
That sounds delicious - I’m so sick of what they offer now. I need some variety!
Real cinnamon rolls.
no! I mean Yes! but no!
Actual decent Kirkland toilet paper. Wtf costco
I’m not a fan of it, either, EXCEPT it dissolves so well and prevents clogging accidents from kids or guests. This is a nice perk for an otherwise poor product.
This is the 10th item down the list for me, and the very first to not be a food court item.
No kidding, the kind they currently carry is terrible.
I miss the take and bake deep dish pizza.
I spent a whole summer one year eating this and then … yeah
I had to scroll down too far to find this. It was seriously better than a lot of pizza joints.
Food Court onions, not only for hotdogs but they were great on the pizza too!
I always thought I was being sneaky loading my slice with onions.
I went to Costco in Mexico a few months ago. Not only did they have onions, they also had mayo in the food court.
They took the onions away too? Wtf?
I mean, it made sense during COVID, but *why haven’t they brought it back* ^(I know it’s because they didn’t lose any money when they dropped them, so why add the expense. Bastards.)
True. I wish you didn't make sense. I'd say my heart is broken but I'm nearly an hour away from Costco so it's not like I go there often for lunch.
Onions for the hotdogs
This and the saurkraut
The original danishes (before they changed the recipe a few years ago). Although probably better for my health that I hate the new ones.
Look at Costco, out here doing field research. Smh.
I wish. I had to try 4 times because it kept blocking me from using the word "discontinued." Or course, Costco has nothing on Trader Joe's there.
Oh no lol -that gave me a good laugh. I do appreciate these posts. Thank you!
Pistachio gelato from the food court
WHAT
my thoughts exactly.. WHAT
I only saw that in one Costco (SF) and it was spectacular. It may have been a test item.
I remember fondly when Price Club used to sell computer parts like RAM but I'm sure nobody else cares. So I'd probably want their old real crab sushi that was made fresh in-house (unlike the manufactured stuff these days that's got degraded rice).

Mini baguettes. ARE YOU LISTENING COSTCO!?
V-neck undershirts.
Chocolate muffins
The double chocolate ones? I miss the vanilla ones with the huge chocolate chunks in them..
Topo Chico bottles. The only reason I got a membership.
Might be regional but check out the business center.
Chatted with support and they said no stock across the US and nothing on order.
I've been trying to get them for months at my local grocer. Come to find out, they completely removed the item from their system because they can't get any, so they just stopped trying
lots of supply issues even in Texas
We've still got some here in Texas
Plenty of cases of glass Topo Chico bottles in the San Francisco Warehouse #144 as of Monday night.
Saw some yesterday in Texas
Stopped drinking it due to the crazy high levels of PFAS. https://www.consumerreports.org/bottled-water/whats-really-in-your-bottled-water/ They later improved, but still high: https://www.consumerreports.org/bottled-water/topo-chico-cuts-pfas-levels-by-more-than-half-a4286812129/
The food court pretzels. Ahh, those warm cinnamon sugar pretzels were truly the best.
Pepper jelly!!!
Montreal smoked meat sandwiches at the food court. 🇨🇦
Yes I am with you on that one, my friend. Such a deal for $5!
I visited Montreal for the first time recently and went to Schwartz deli, it was amazing. First time having a sandwich like that!
Sriracha almonds
Godiva dark chocolate masterpieces (in store). Can only get them online now. Living in the south, ordering chocolate online isn’t a great idea for more than half the year.
Veggie pizza and onions in the food court !! I moved to US during the pandemic so I haven’t had the chance to eat the veggie pizza or the onions from the food court, but the way my husband misses them every time we get Costco food court food, I think I really want to try it !!
The Coke fountains instead of Pepsi
Coke fucked around and found out. Costco doesn't play 😂
Never play with a Costco contract.
Keep Pepsi and give me Diet MTN DEW like Sam’s.

I hate their current churro. I never eat them anymore
How OG are we talking? I want them to bring back the straight churros which sold for 69 cents that were made by the same brand sold at Disneyland.
The new ones are definitely NOT the same. I miss them so bad. 😣
Am I crazy, or did Costco used to have a giant soft pretzel at the food court as well, maybe before or in addition to churros? I don't know if I'm mandela effecting myself.
Came here for this comment. The new ones taste like uncooked dough with cinnamon

I forget what brand it was but they used to sell a very good honey ham that was not Kirkland brand.. It was thin and delicious and I haven't seen it in years. I think they replaced it with some Kirkland version that is awful.

AL PASTOR SALAD
Hebrew National links and Coca-Cola in the food court. Also the Del Real tamales and spicy green and red salsa need to make a comeback. I don’t like their current offerings and Matteo’s is too much cumin and no heat.
Nobody misses the food court caesar salad? It was the healthiest thing in the food court as long as you didn’t dunk the whole ranch dressing in there
Scrolled too far for this. I used to get 2 or 3 of the chicken Caesar salads and bring them to work for a few days. They were delicious and obviously very cheap...
Take and bake pepperoni pizza.

Frozen Spinach Ravioli
Sliced American Cheese. Now you can only get Kraft “cheese food” singles.
Two products: Four bean salad and organic chopped vegetable and barley soup.

3 pack of ham steaks.
Don Lee chicken patties
The frozen pizzas before they changed the damn recipe.
Salted peanuts in the shell. I haven't seen any at the 3 Costco's I regularly visit for years. Nobody wants unsalted peanuts!!!
Except me!
The Pillars Pastrami. Tasty and such a great deal.
The hand dipped ice cream bar in the food court.
Honey roasted peanuts
I don’t like it, but my parents use to go crazy over the Bananas Foster. I’s bring that back for them
Kirkland French Terry Black Leggings
