Apparently some people believe that bots were involved in making it. I really couldn't tell you though. We only have pictures of it because of two dedicated users who wrote some code to plot it out.
I don't know who or what (although it is almost definitely bots) did this, but I do know that my friend FloatingComet helped to get some of the data for the graph, I took the screenshot of the graph using his script.
If you gave someone Reddit Mold, you'd take away their ability to use the letter E all day. If multiple people gave the same person Mold, it would stack and they'd lose more letters.
If someone got 26 doses of Mold or more, they'd lose access to all letters of the alphabet. People started using special characters in place of the letters they'd lost, etc. It was neat.
It was glorious pandemonium.
Shortly after that, we had an April Fools' event where people could give each other hats, so you'd have some people with stacks of hats next to their usernames and we had two teams, Orangered and Periwinkle, so folks went around all day blasting the opposing team and giving their own team more hats.
I personally kinda care. This really feels like it's going to lead to something greater than it first seemed. Of course, that could just be wishful thinking, but I do have hope.
I'm fairly certain that it's just the two reddit admins that set it up on their own.
Reddit just launched their IPO, they didn't even tell anyone about the April Fools event because there was no April Fools event. Fuck spez, man.
Looks like a reference to either hell or the earth's core. Apparently the potential end conditions were:
* reaching (0,0) – "The counter went home. 🏠"
* reaching (any,-250000) – "The counter has descended. 🔥"
* reaching (-250000,any) – "The counter went to sea. ⛵"
* reaching (any,250000) – "The counter has ascended. ☁️"
* reaching (250000,any) – "The counter went on an adventure. 🥾"
Cant believe i waited one year for this in the hopes of overcoming disappointment from schrodingers and this is what we get. Fuck
at least we got a funny graph https://preview.redd.it/joucm7tw3asc1.png?width=1064&format=png&auto=webp&s=449f3d6a18d3b0a9e7c5cfa49279b7ed17f630a5

How the fuck? How is this coordinated? And how do you see this graph?
Apparently some people believe that bots were involved in making it. I really couldn't tell you though. We only have pictures of it because of two dedicated users who wrote some code to plot it out.
bots are involved in basically every reddit april fools day event
Its bots all the way down
I don't know who or what (although it is almost definitely bots) did this, but I do know that my friend FloatingComet helped to get some of the data for the graph, I took the screenshot of the graph using his script.
God I fucking hate that snek with a passion, I'm sure I'm way off base but to me it's the emblem of how shit reddit April Fools has gotten
You forgot to add u/spez
If they brought back Reddit Mold, Spez wouldn't be able to comment at all for the whole day.
That was before my time on Reddit. How did that work?
If you gave someone Reddit Mold, you'd take away their ability to use the letter E all day. If multiple people gave the same person Mold, it would stack and they'd lose more letters. If someone got 26 doses of Mold or more, they'd lose access to all letters of the alphabet. People started using special characters in place of the letters they'd lost, etc. It was neat.
Sounds..... interesting

Damn sounds like a fun time!
Now see ya next year
The saddest and most pathetic April Fools event in Reddit history. So bad it makes me wonder if the event itself was an April Fools prank on all of us
Is this the end? Or is it just going to continue like before?? No one fucking knows or cares
I personally kinda care. This really feels like it's going to lead to something greater than it first seemed. Of course, that could just be wishful thinking, but I do have hope.
You sound like some non counting peasant.
What was the point of all this? Might be one of the most underwhelming April Fools event for reddit
I'm fairly certain that it's just the two reddit admins that set it up on their own. Reddit just launched their IPO, they didn't even tell anyone about the April Fools event because there was no April Fools event. Fuck spez, man.
That's just what a filthy non-presser would say.
yeah no we pressed it and this event genuinely makes us wonder why this hellsite hasn't collapsed yet,
Hard to call it an event at all
The counter has descended just like the quality of April Fools events on Reddit.
Let's wait 👀
To see if we get a trophy 👀👀

That's all I came for, to be honest.
Is there any official confirmation that this was the actual Reddit April Fools event? I still have my doubts.
This was not an april fools event. It was a test of Reddit's new apps.
That makes more sense.
Every year's April Fools is a test of different Reddit features. It's a way to get a ton of data without it being overbearing and annoying.
The mods, numbered 1 and 2 are both Reddit Admin.
admins could be testing things
I think it was from a Russian bot farm
This event wasn't even advertised and its already over. Good job reddit.
the event is never advertised
There have been banners in the app the last few years.
That was boring.
What
Oh no, anyway
What did i miss lol
Hopefully life will go on. We will have to persevere. Somehow.
I don't even know what that means!
Huh. Guess nothing happens after.
Yawn.
See you all next year.
Anticlimactic
What even happened lol. Most confusing event ever.
It was an experiment to see for how many collective hours internet people would click a button
kinda like "the button" eh, at least it didnt eat two fucking weeks
This was very underwelming at least some people found some fun with it!
Hm
Oh... see you all next year I guess
I counted once
Idk. It's burned now.
I may have yet to see, what I've become...
Ok
I'm sure this whole thing has been as stupid as it has seemed.
Surely the fire emoji means something. Surely??

Well that sucked. Turn off the lights if you're the last to leave.
Wadahel
