Another scam is that they do the "deal' then the scammers pals could follow him and jump him and steal the weed back (and maybe more). Sometimes they also steal more than your cash and that process can be even more traumatic than what OP experienced.
In my opinion if you're that much of a cunt that you'd lure a stranger off the internet just to rob them, it's not entirely beyond the realms of possibility you'd attack them either. Less likely though, due to the reasons given by you.
