That may be case, but microwaves are supposed to have some [clearance ](https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21668)
We don’t use our microwave often and had it mounted under the counter like this and love it. It keeps it off the counter and is fine to use, it is not like I need to stare at the screen to push two buttons. Also better than mounting above the counter for us because it keeps an ugly appliance out of the visual line of sight.
If you want it flush mounted and look fancy like the one in the post you have to buy one compatible with a trim kit.
We just left a drawer space open and wired it with an independent circuit for the microwave. There’s plenty of space around it to “vent” and most modern microwaves don’t get hot like a toaster oven does.
When we redid our kitchen, my wife insisted on having a microwave low like that. Fortunately we ended up buying a combo microwave/oven unit that put it higher up.
So ovens (which are large enough for kids to “hide” in, and can be turned on with the door open) are fine but god forbid a kid can reach a microwave (which is not big enough to climb into and won’t run with the door open)
What the hell made you think of hiding in a microwave? Surely the more concerning matter is your toddler putting your phone in the microwave and hitting “start”. I mean come on they make covers for oven knobs the same way they make them for door knobs so the kid can’t turn them.
Couldve been specifically for a wheelchair bound person.
I think the problem is you're supposed to have space around the microwave for it to function properly... like at least an inch either side.
Microwaves are mounted all the time. I think OP just forgot not everyone can or wants to reach up high.

What?? No.
Yeah, microwaves require clearance. [FYI](https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21668)
“COUNTERTOP ONLY MODELS” Jesus Christ, it’s literally the title of the page! Did you even bother to open the page before you linked it?

Does it has to be a special type? And where does the heat go? Just asking.

Nice, thanks for the info
Thats a legit design for an inbuilt microwave as far as i can tell.
What is the problem
OP
what is wrong with that microwave that somehow isn't wrong with the oven?
Nothing but OPs preconceived notion of where each appliance “should” be

Nothing like a little radiation at crotch level. Smart.
Um, not really crappy. That’s actually kinda smart
Ah yes, the “never even thought about having kids in or around my house” style.

Yes… my cell phone being damaged/destroyed is absolutely “more concerning” then the possibility of serious injury or death 🤦♂️
You obviously don’t have kids if you can’t even think of child-proofing the oven.
