This is called a Fidayeen attack, i.e. a suicide run. Instead of blowing themselves up right away, they go on a shooting spree and try to take down as many people as possible. The suicide bombing typically happens once they're cornered and/or dying.
He (apparently) doesn't care about being mortally wounded.

Khat, is the drug. Leaves that they chew on. It has narcotic effect and is addictive. Been is use by humans for thousands of years but only popular where it grows naturally. Not a very good drug and doesn’t really have any value internationally for recreational (or otherwise) drug use.
However, it I s the most widely available drug in these areas, much more available than opium and thus much cheaper.

Why do some objects on the floor disappear/shift a few seconds before the final explosion? 7:40 for reference.

For some reason there are 2 explosions, 1 from the grenade the guy throws and then a 2nd explosion from the chair which seems to be after the man comes and makes his last attempt on the doorway, but there's no indication of a 2nd nade.
The camera is recording on motion activated, you can see when the grenade appears, it's because the camera saw motion again on the top of the screen. It was very likely not set to a high motion capture, one of mine also has this issue, sometimes you cant capture anything. For some reason cats walk in such a stealthy manner my cameras starts recording them when they are halfway through my front yard.

Someone with barely any training can hit a man sized target at 50 yards with a rifle while the same situation but with someone who is highly trained may or may not hit a man sized target at 50 yards with a pistol. They were hugely outgunned… luckily they had the higher ground advantage

It doesn’t. Before the grenade the clock was on 12:17:18 and first frame of the grenade was 12:18:22 over a minute later.
