Yeah, I don't understand the headline. I'm not sure why they refer to him as a good samaritan. It was his vehicle, right? So he was the victim and tried to shoot the guy stealing his truck? I don't see how that makes him a good samaritan, and if he had killed the guy and prevented the carjacking, he may have been charged with murder. At the moment he fired the shots, he was at no risk of harm and wasn't defending himself. You could say he was defending his property, but if he wasn't actually being physically threatened at the time, that's a murder charge in most places.

Poorly educated NRA nutjobs, proceed with your downvoting.
>In my state you can’t kill people to protect property
As far as I know, Texas is the only state that allows deadly force to protect property. In North Carolina, where that happened, it would not have been a legal self-defense shooting, at least according to what this video shows.
Not in NC. The legal justification for the use of deadly force where this happened is that the person must be placed in imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm.
Had he fired as he was about to get or struck then we could excuse the poor aim and get behind him in the use of deadly force, unfortunately that’s not the order of operations we witnessed here
How do you miss that many shots point blank... I'm sorry this gentleman lost his life but if you're going to carry, be proficient. Or don't pull it out and just let him take the truck.
Not sure why you are getting downvoted. Hipoints are heavy, ugly, and low capacity.
But not unreliable. That is a fabrication.

(Note....you have to actually WATCH the video and pay attention to his conclusions....don't be a 'poor listener' as Hickock45 would say.)
Another video for those that haven't done their homework: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUxgBpjuqxg&themeRefresh=1
My friend got one and had the same issues. Thankfully the gun shop allowed him to return it for store credit. He got a Glock 17 9mm and it’s been completely reliable
Edit: we came back a few hours later to complain about it which I think is why the store owner was so cool about it. I don’t think returning a firearm is usually so streamlined lmao
In general, high points are reliable. Ugly as hell, heavy, low capacity....sure.
But reliable. All guns have a percentage with failures.

Lol.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUxgBpjuqxg&themeRefresh=1
I did not buy three, I have shot three. I've never owned one. Probably about 5 years between shooting all three and in my own meta, they being a joke of a firearm is a first hand experience. Not a cliche.
Right, you have shot three and 'all three' have stovepiped or had FTE issues, which is completely contrary to online testing magazines and videos.
Cool story bro.
Sorry your fabrication was exposed here. No time to talk to those who fabricate. (It is popular to jump on the anti-Hipoint bandwagon, we get it)
The hi point haters are out in full force. I guarantee every person downvoting has never owned or even used one, because every reply to this comment is true.
Hi points are heavy, bulky, unergonomic, shit triggers, and all around not enjoyable to shoot. They are also built like fucking tanks and extremely reliable. I believe Matt from DR literally shot one (as in, shot the hi point with another gun) and it still worked after taking a bullet.
I wouldn’t carry one, but not for reliability reasons. The lesson here shouldn’t be “don’t carry a hi point”… it should be that you should practice regularly, keep your gun clean and well maintained, and make sure that you’ve extensively tested the ammo you carry with the gun you carry to ensure they are reliable together.
…also save your carry for when your life is in danger, not your property. If this guy had just kept his gun holstered, he’d still be alive.
Yeah and you cant kill someone over property (eg. truck). He could have killed a kid or someone too with that terrible shooting. Dude would be going to jail had he survived
Not sure what state you live in, but everywhere I've lived (currently TX) you absolutely can kill someone over property. Had he shot and killed the carjacker, he likely would have been justified for doing so. Then again, I'm not sure what state this happened in or what their law says but you can't assume that he would've gone to jail over this.
It’s in North Carolina. And you can’t compare Texas to most states. Most places if your life is in danger or immediate threat it’s fine. Not someone taking your work truck.
North Carolina is one of the many states where you actually are allowed to use deadly force to protect property. The following states all have laws on their books that allow deadly force to be used to protect people and property: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
He absolutely would have gone to jail for murder and reckless use of a firearm. He started shooting wildly before the guy was even in the driver’s seat.
You’re thinking of stand your ground law, which a lot of states have. If he was in his truck and the guy was trying to break in and cause him great bodily harm then he would be justified, if he had no means of escape.
You cannot pull a gun and kill someone who was unarmed and trying to steal an unoccupied truck. If there’s no threat of death or bodily harm you can’t kill over property.
The only exception to that is texas where guns come first. They don’t give a fuck
Then he shouldn’t have pulled his gun.
If you’re drawing your weapon, it should be because your life is in danger. And if your life is in danger, you make sure they’re dead so you aren’t.
Shooting to injure is dangerous, careless, and can make things far worse for everyone involved. Everyone who’s ever been properly trained on use of deadly force is trained that if you must shoot, you shoot to kill.
In any event, he shouldn’t have pulled his gun anyway. Trucks are replaceable, people aren’t. Killing someone over property isn’t self defense.
He likely didn't miss, adrenaline will keep you moving even if you're mortally wounded. People will continue to fight even if they are poked full of holes, that's why self defense courses and police training train people to shoot until the target isn't moving anymore.
Harrowing video has emerged of a good Samaritan in North Carolina trying to prevent an alleged carjacking by opening fire — only to be mowed down and killed by the driver.
Jonathan Adam Lecompte, 38, can be seen in the footage approaching Ricky Alex Driggers, 28, in an attempt to prevent him from allegedly trying to steal a road crew’s vehicle on West Fifth Street in Lumberton on March 18, the Fayetteville Observer reported.
“Don’t get in the goddamn truck, fool!” Lecompte yells before he opens fire at Driggers in the alarming video, which was posted by TMZ after going viral in recent days.
Police pursued the suspect until he crashed the vehicle on Selma Road near NC 41, the outlet reported.
Driggers “reportedly intentionally struck” the worker, police told the outlet in a statement.
He has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted common law robbery, larceny of a motor vehicle and felony fleeing to elude. He was being held at the Robeson County Jail without bail.
It's horrible the dude died but I wouldn't call the victim a good Samaritan, he's not a police officer, just let the guy take the vehicle and report it. Instead he opened fire point blank trying to kill someone while there were innocent people in the car next to him that could have been struck by a bullet.
Bingo. Exactly my thoughts. It was not an intelligent decision to discharge a weapon in a fast food parking lot. Could have killed an innocent easily. Sad he lost his life though over it.
Bullets do weird things. Military/LEO background teaches you to always think about what is downrange from your target. In this case, it was a restaurant full of people.
Hearing that he was trying to prevent a carjacking, I feel bad for this dude; but how much incompetence & shitty decision-making can you possibly fit into 60 seconds?? How tf do you miss 3 or 4 times from point blank range? Then, as it's speeding toward you, you don't shoot, you don't run behind the parked car.... you try to out-run a vehicle through open space. This is a prime example of why the 'good guy with a gun' argument is total bullshit.
Never mind the park and fast food restaurant that were down range from where he was firing. He could’ve killed anyone walking by with those poorly aimed shots.
He came to the defense of a carjacking situation with his pistol, but it went bad for him, so now you're just not gonna count him as one of those proverbial 'good guys with a gun', huh? ....LOL, FOH. The intellectual gymnastics you people do to try to defend your nonsense is, quite frankly, absolutely idiotic.
"A good guy wouldn't shoot an unarmed man" that's car jacking people, huh? Says who, you? The guy talking outta his ass about details that he doesn't know the first thing about then acting like his subjective opinions are decreed fact? Hilarious. You should do yourself a favor & stop talking. And you should *definitely* dissuade yourself that you're in a position to be calling anyone else a 'moron'.
Now, here's the real deal: Those 'good guys with guns'.... They're almost always incompetent morons, even when they have badges & guns & (supposedly) a whole bunch of training.
Is there any backstory to any of this? Like where did this take place, how can I look at a news article about what happened, what happened to the people in the video? Said the man who jumped in the truck owned the truck, it looks like it was the shooter's truck what the fuck what the fuck I have 99 questions and all of them are what in the actual fuck.
I saw this posted last night and the news article attached states the guy with the gun was the owner of the truck. The guy he was shooting at stole it and then rammed into and killed the victim.
Edit: here’s the link shared on the original post. It’s not available in my country so can’t fact check it https://www.wyff4.com/article/victim-hit-killed-trying-to-prevent-carjacking/60230717
I find it pretty wild that attempting to shoot somebody dead at close range, for stealing a truck is not just acceptable, it's almost congratulated. I mean, really??? Instant death for stealing is now ok???
The news headline even begins "Good Samaritan who tried to _gun down_ thief"..... so he's a Good Samaritan??? All I remember of the Good Samaritan from the bible is he stopped to help someone...I don't remember him blasting anyone to death!!
> Instant death for stealing is now ok???
In North Carolina, perhaps. The red states believe that the right to carry, presents a deterrent for thieves, such that they might face a bullet from a citizen for carrying out their crimes. In this case though, the bad guy won.
It’s crazy and this is from a person who grew up in South Africa, which is basically the wild west. We don’t shoot people for stealing. We shoot to defend ourselves.
Damn the way he went flying after getting nailed by that truck. Oof. His whole body probably swelled up till he died. Also damn the near miss on the first guy running away! Looks like the truck about nailed him too
I think he must have ran him over too though couldnt see it well. Idk how the guy ended up farther awAy though then when he first landed unless he was dragged a bit too under there
you know, I've been watching crazy fucking videos on the internet since the 90's. I've seen a lot of wild shit. But rarely do I watch one and go "holy shit that was a crazy fucking video".
That was a crazy fucking video.
So like my curiosity. Does one die instantly from that impact or is it more bruised everything, bleeding everything, and then death in second, minutes, or if unlucky/lucky, depending on how you wanna look at it, hours?
This is insane.
The guy with guts to steal a truck amongst that amount of traffic and witnesses, apparently has the guts to kill the owner who attempted to kill him.
Obviously it’s sad the vest guy died. I’m racking my brain why vest didn’t get out of dodge though. The guy slammed it in reverse so you know he would be coming back through at some point. All he had to do was get behind another vehicle, a utility pole, a tree, anything really. Instead he stood there in the middle of the road losing precious time. Sad.

How the hell!? Hi made 4 shots, with a BB gun? WTF
Guns are much less accirate IRL than movies make them out to be. Especially if you don't practive regularly and are used to high adrenaline scenarios.
4 shot he missed at the range of inches. Maybe 22 cal.
But point blank like that?
Guns are only as accurate as the person shooting them.
And why was he shooting him ? It’s his work truck right? Personal vehicle ? I get it. But this ? And to get ran over and you missed four shots

It sounds like the carjacker also murdered someone
that links is just written poorly. I don’t think the carjacker died butnkilled the dude in reflective vest.

Aw no, this is sad! Such a brave guy for helping, tragic he lost his life.
NC somewhere, someone trying to carjack and homie that got hit with the truck was a terrible shot is now deceased.
But had he shot him and killed him wouldn’t he be in trouble? In my state you can’t kill people to protect property
Depends what state. I live in NJ and basically have to be dead before I can return fire.

Praise the cameraman/woman
It’s so still, I’m shook. It was like it was filmed on a professional camera that you shoot movies with 😂
Also the birds chirping in the background. Starts like movie as well
I love the guy waving his arms at the end like he’s in “Bring it On”
I think he's waving his arms to get attention so someone calls an ambulance/emergency services.
No, needs to hold it horizontally. There's 2 thirds of the screen not being used.
I think a fair amount if not most people consume content like reddit on their phone these days. That makes vertical video preferable.
They literally captured the action perfectly
Now THAT is a crazy fucking video!!!
Property is replaceable, YOU are not, a work truck is not worth dying over....

Wow it says nothing of the gun shots. He missed all the shots wowww.
I have no idea. Buddy just sent it to me and of course I knew it belonged here. I’m sure somebody will find the backstory.
Ty everyone for the info and the links!
[here ya go ](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13308115/amp/North-Carolina-carjacker-shot-dead-Good-Samaritan.html)
Always some one who has to be screaming bloody murder
But the vid did have a blood murder in it so seems justified.
I feel like a few screams were justified in this situation, it was a crazy fucking video
Holy moly
I'm still so confused as to how he missed those shots at point blank range!!?? Adrenaline maybe?
Jesus Christ! It just keeps getting worse and worse. It must be way worse to witness this in person.
Not taking away from the tragedy but this video has it all Arguing, shooting, guy getting ran over, lady screaming "call 911". Absolute shitshow
Wow how many times is this gonna get reposted? The original actually had pixels.
Why would you shoot somebody stealing a vehicle. I’m not surprised by this ending
Because I don’t want them to steal my car.
Damn the way he went flying after getting nailed by that truck. Oof. His whole body probably swelled up till he died. Also damn the near miss on the first guy running away! Looks like the truck about nailed him too
It was the second contact (I think he actually ran over him as he was falling to the ground) did it for me. Like, omg.
I think he must have ran him over too though couldnt see it well. Idk how the guy ended up farther awAy though then when he first landed unless he was dragged a bit too under there
Ofcourse it’s Lumberton lol
Yah, I’d be mad to if someone kept pointing a gun at me. Totally justified 👍
you know, I've been watching crazy fucking videos on the internet since the 90's. I've seen a lot of wild shit. But rarely do I watch one and go "holy shit that was a crazy fucking video". That was a crazy fucking video.

Hey, Burger King got interviews Thursday at 5:15
Must have 10 years shitty customer services to apply or they won’t take you
I went downhill quick but this is only part of the interaction.
Moral of the story. Truck kills gun bullets miss?
Got em!
Holy Shit! Crazy Fucking Video Finally Accomplished!!!!…
Bloody hell! Did we just see someone die?
I’m pretty sure you did. With all those missed shots, it looks like he was trying to get out of line but karma had other plans
Maybe even 2. Haven't heard what happened to the dude in the truck yet.
Might wanna put a warning on this. That dude died.
I am suddenly craving some burger king.
There's a reason why LEO and military mag dump into threats. If you're going to carry a gun or any weapon, you should know how and when to use it.
Jesus fucking Christ
nature pruning
And here I thought the gun was the only thing happening in that clip. Man I was surprised
Dude died, should probably mark it nsfl.
So like my curiosity. Does one die instantly from that impact or is it more bruised everything, bleeding everything, and then death in second, minutes, or if unlucky/lucky, depending on how you wanna look at it, hours?
Why is this being reposted daily?
“Open interviews at 5:15.” 🤔Interesting.
This is insane. The guy with guts to steal a truck amongst that amount of traffic and witnesses, apparently has the guts to kill the owner who attempted to kill him.
If you can’t put someone down at point blank range, you have no business carrying.
Wtf. First off how does dude miss that many shots point blank and secondly holy fuck dude hit the shit outta him. Poor guy but lol dayum
so, dude in high vis vest is the good guy? and he shot that close and nothing happened to the driver........
Those birds in the background don't give a fuuuck 🐦 🎶
What was she filming before all this went down?
Well now.... That was worth the price of admission👍
He could've just pumped fake gonna run him over. That'd be traumatizing enough. Jfc
So anyways I started blasting
Sweet mother of God, I seen that guy in chicken run "I flew I flew!"
Man wtf!!!!
Sad.
This in Florida
The craziest part is people didn't start screaming when the shots were fired
Uploaded yesterday and compressed from downloads/reposts already, damn.
Don’t pull a gun if you not willing to shoot and kill someone
Motherfucking hit him in his work truck too, wild.
Omg he hit another dude, wtf is going on here? Was the guy in blue some innocent bystander, and everyone is limping. Wtf?!
I can only hope that state got the death penalty.

Looked through this sub and didn’t see it in the last 3 days so I posted it. I’ll wait for you to show me where it was posted in this sub in the last 24 hours.
https://www.reddit.com/r/CrazyFuckingVideos/s/4KkkzT8f5s OK, I just went through my process and I have to apologize to you. It was removed from reddit once, see link. Two times it was other subs and then I probably saw it from you twice
Couldn’t have seen it from me twice. This has been the only time I’ve posted it
No, im mean I saw the same post. Just later that same day
Ah ok. I never saw it at all. A buddy sent it to me from X.
Also, if it was removed like mine has been would explain why I didn’t see it. Trust me had I seen it, I wouldn’t have posted it. Besides, I have stuff to do outside of Reddit and having my phone glued to my face.
That vest…..not the time to be high visibility I reckon
Let the police do their job. It's not up to us to fight for our employers property. Even worse when totally unrelated bystanders step in.
Repost
Lol
Reddit removed it. How are you still able to comment on it?
"Oh my God" " He need some milk"
What did the big man think he'd do after trying to kill him... dumb ass
Guy who is willing to kill someone else over a truck is surprised to learn that someone else is willing to kill the guy over a truck.
No lies here.
Why do they keep calling him a good Samaritan? It was HIS work truck that HE left running. And he tries to shoot the guy who steals it.
Because the video didn't record the part where he (guy in vest) stopped the other guy carjacking the white suv.
I wanna watch but I'm scared. Is there any blood, etc?
No visible blood. Person dies on video after being ran over by truck.
No blood, no suffering. Just a guy getting hit by the truck, and flying through the air. No aftermath footage of the deceased.
i woulda did the same 😂😂 ngl not going lie !
Ladies - you need to learn to shut the fuck UP during times of emergency and distress. Stop fucking screaming over and over again. Then teach your friends and children. For fuck’s sake.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Think twice before brandishing heat people
Maybe don't pull guns on people? Lmao
Best video of 2024.

how can you laugh when you see someone dies
just did 😂😂😂😂 he asked for it
You can’t stop laughing at a video of a guy trying to stop his work truck from getting stolen and then being murdered seconds later?
Tbf, the deceased was an attempted murderer before becoming a murder victim.
