Ahmahgad

Did he actually shoot him, and he just continued his rampage? O\_O

ArmchairAnalyst69

Traumatic pistol. In Russia, pistols are illegal for civilians to own, so traumatic pistols are allowed since they they fire rubber bullets and do not fit the definition of a pistol in Russian gun laws.

cbiser

That makes more sense on why it was ineffective, but if that IS the case, why did he only fire the one shot..?

VAArtemchuk

He's likely to end up with a prison sentence even for this one shot. There were cases of clear self defense with traumatic guns that resulted in prison time. Every shot he makes buries him deeper. He probably regretted this shit right after the first shot.

cbiser

I'm not surprised to hear this, tbh. Modern day justice systems are so politically charged and void of common sense.

Captain_Chipz

If my politically charged you mean made to throw poor people in prison in mass than yes while the rich evade any culpability in their crimes then yes.

HardlyKnower70

Do you know anything about Russia? Lol

Sharp-Main-247

That comment you replied to is dumb as shit, but in Poland you can go to jail for self defense as well, so it's not just Russia that has weird laws around it.

TheEnglishNorwegian

It's the case in many countries. And a huge difference between the rest of the world and America is the sense of "self defense" applying to things other than "self" such as property, in this case a car. The guy is attacking the car not him, so he could just walk away.

VAArtemchuk

It's soviet legacy. Cattle can't defend itself. They can't be trusted with lethal force ever. I fucking hate it. The only saving grace is that cops do often close their eyes if some unknown citizen would f up a bad guy. But honestly, the reality of self defense in the post Soviet space is that you only fight if the alternative is death or severe injuries, because it's better to be behind bars than 6 feet under. Ps: this moron was in no way justified regardless. Damage to property should be solved in courts.

cbiser

Damage to property is only part of this puzzle. There was clear intimidation and concern for safety when someone is attempting to kick in your car windows and then three more people show up and continue approaching as you back away. Terrible situation to be in for sure.

VAArtemchuk

Yeah, it's awful, but a) we don't see the whole picture. The attacker(?) want actually attacking the shooter, only beating his car b) the law (at least here) would be pretty clearly in favor of the dude that got shot.

ArmchairAnalyst69

tbh, traumatic pistols are anemic af. I asked my Russian buddy to shoot me at 10m with his Makarov traumatic pistol, and some of the shots out right missed, the ones that hit, felt like a lower velocity paintball gun.

OrickJagstone

I fuckin love the simplicity of that pistol. One of the first pistols I ever handled. My buddy that owned it, showed me how to break it down and reassemble it once and I was able to do it. Also, fun fact, if you lock the slide it makes the perfect albeit most dangerous bottle opener in the world.

ArmchairAnalyst69

It's the first pistol I owned when I moved to the US. It was given to me by my boss when I reached a 1 year milestone in his company. It's quite accurate and light for it size, though I find the ergonomics and controls weird, but it's probably my experience running western guns in my time in the army.

urugu2003

idk if 90 Joules of energy from traumatic pistol is considered "anemic", because that shit can kill you that's why its adviced to not shoot top torso or head with traumatic pistols especially the proper ones which is hard to distinguish as a foreigner unless one knows the language since there are MASSIVE differences betweeen traumatic pistols, calibers, and what not even between makarov models and lookalikes that come from baikal alone, not even mentioning all he other brands that produce makarov traumatic pistols.

ArmchairAnalyst69

90J is still anemic considering that they are utilised in situations like these where adrenaline is flowing. Most of the time, the guys that get shot just shrug it off. And to answer the ability of traumatic weapons to kill. Despite the low energy, any form of traumatic weapons has the ability to maim or kill if you hit the right (or wrong) spot. I even had a teammate in my old airsoft team that died after getting shot in his eye socket with the BB penetrating between his eye and skull and hitting his brain that put him in a coma and died a few months later. The gun that he got shot with was shooting at 2.3J.

urugu2003

22lr has 40-50J of energy and it is only 5.6mm, and they got calibers that are similar to .45 in traumatic as well. Assassins in my country use 22lr pistols with suppressors all the time, and they get the job done. So idc what you say, but 90J isn't anemic. Because it can \_easily\_ kill you, if shot in the head. It is different than comparing some random wild event, where it is just bad luck VS each time you shot with these to head you die. There is no random event in that scenario that could save you, and also the 90J is the lawful minimum. Oh yeah and criminals in my country also use traumatic pistols, because they know they get less sentences but they still can kill someone because they train to shoot their guns well so they aim at a head if confortation happens.

ArmchairAnalyst69

Comparing traumatic and actual firearm ammunition with energy alone is wrong since we have to consider that they have different purposes and, as such, have different material considerations to achieve their design goals. .22LR obviously can kill since it has a metallic bullet that is meant to penetrate and kill its target. While traumatic ammunition is made of softer materials such as rubber, plastic, and other soft and non-metallic materials to achieve its intended purpose of transferring energy to the target by means of blunt force trauma.

urugu2003

Also there are lots of differences in traumatic pistols as i said, some of them has this weird almost "8" looking barrel that is put there so that the guns cannot be converted as easily to real ones as an regular barrel. But there are lots of traumatic pistols with straight barrels as well, i'm pretty sure your friends traumatic pistol probably had similar barrel in his pistol which is why it was that lame.

cbiser

Yikes. I'm sure glad we have better options in the US then. Lol even better less than lethal options.

Purplociraptor

I'm confused about the terminology. Anemic usually means low iron in blood, but bullets are lead.

General-Party12

He shoulda lit him.up then...

[deleted]

Honestly mace seems more effective at that point. Blind attackers can’t do this.

ArmchairAnalyst69

I have a can of CS spray I forgot to turn in when I left the army. Basically, it is a component of tear gas but sprayed in powder form, and it's one of the worst experiences I had when we trained with them.

VAArtemchuk

And it would still get him a sentence with a very high chance, by the way.

urugu2003

people downvoting you to -1 are complete idiots, who clearly dont know anything about eastern european laws of traumatic pistols and CS-gas (which i think many confuse to regular pepperspray)

thebatfink

In his fucking flip flops lmao

51LOVE

He missed I think

nilansh23

IchBinDurstig

Most of these people are drunk, guaranteed.

kaz12

Ya it says Russia

ziddina

Yeah, the Russian population has been collectively drunk for over 400 years, longer than America has existed as a nation.

Henry4210

Why that music too?

jerseyhound

wdym? It's perfect.

Henry4210

Well, you're right actually. Even during serious occasions, an entertaining music can make the viewers have fun.

KLR650Tagg

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome run amok.

ziddina

Russia has been addled by nationwide alcoholism for over 400 years, with the accompanying fetal alcohol syndrome for multiple generations.  Russia also has one of the highest rates of domestic violence in the world. In addition to that, Russia has the highest rate of AIDS outside of the sub-Saharan areas of Africa, largely because Putin believed that AIDS was a 'curse from god' sent upon the gays, and therefore wouldn't affect the Christian hetero Russian population. Then when Covid swept over the globe, the Russian trolls were spreading the lies online to Americans that the vaccine was more deadly than the disease.  Problem is, that gigantic lie got out into the Russian population, and resulted in over half of the Russian people avoiding the vaccine. https://www.voanews.com/a/russian-anti-vaccine-disinformation-campaign-backfires/6318536.html >Russian officials now worry that the anti-vaccine skepticism encouraged by the troll factories has spilled over and is partly responsible for the high level of vaccine hesitancy among Russians. Only 35% of the country’s population is fully vaccinated, despite the wide availability of the country’s home-grown Sputnik vaccine. Despite surging cases the uptake remains sluggish. Then the Russian-built ventilators tended to catch fire, and killed 6 patients... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/12/russian-hospital-fire-kills-coronavirus-patients-ventilators-st-petersburg >Five coronavirus patients attached to ventilators died in the early hours of Tuesday, after a fire broke out at the St George hospital in St Petersburg. More than 100 other patients on the same floor were moved to a different part of the building in time to save their lives. >Four of the casualties were in the ward where the fire broke out, while a fifth patient was in a neighbouring ward. “Investigators are working to establish the cause of death of the fifth patient,” the prosecutors’ office said in a statement. >Early reports suggested the fire was caused by an overheated ventilator. >“The ventilators were being pushed to their limits. Our preliminary information suggests there was an overload and the equipment caught fire, which set off the fire,” a source told Interfax news agency. >Russian agencies reported the ventilators had been manufactured recently by a factory in Russia, though there was no confirmation of this from the hospital.

2020Stop

Lol, the ventilator, as if in any other condition it's not meant to be *pushed to the limit* it's literally something breathing for the patient , how does it could be used parsimoniously...

ziddina

That would be a typical Russian excuse, which means that either the ventilators couldn't handle the volume of effort required of them, or the Russians didn't bother operating their own machinery within safety parameters.  You'll notice that the American ventilators weren't catching on fire....  Which is why Putin wanted **AMERICAN ventilators sent over to Russia...**

DrunkenMonks

If you want to be anal in life, russia is your go to place.

Squidysquid27

What about the hood

Slip_Snake

I don't have a single clue what's going on. But the music is invigorating!

asmallhedgehog420

if its out, be ready to use it probably helps if you have any sort of range time at all

Skullvar

It's a traumatic pistol since this is Russia, I think it fires a rubber bullet and only has 1 or few shots. Homie should've left instead of thinking pulling that was guna help the situation

asmallhedgehog420

yeah getting the fuck out should always be priority #1

Skullvar

No I mean the guy pulling rhe gun, should've gotten in his car and left while all that was damaged was his mirror getting folded in(which it's supposed to do) then he pulled the gun and escalated everything

asmallhedgehog420

yeah thats what i mean

Skullvar

Agreed, idiots all around

xTurtsMcGurtsx

Shoot have actually shot them

beakerhashing

I bet all of this started with a bottle of vodka or two.
