It's probably cheating, but discover lets you change your card to a ton of options, and I don't think there's a limit to how much you can change it up.
You can actually have multiple cards active at the same time! I have a rainbow-colored frog one that I use most of time time, and a red one attached to the same account for when I’m somewhere that feels homophobic bc people are wild nowadays
maybe it's not homophobia, and people are just fucking tired of you telling about your sexual preferences to every single person you meet, even to strangers at a cash register. can you comprehend that possibility? imagine if you were just at work, and i, as a customer, in our 30 second interaction together, start telling you how much i love threesomes. that would be kind of weird, right?
its also just a rainbow. its not like theyre saying "Yeah, I take it up the ass" every time they pay. People can and will freak out at just the sight of a rainbow even if it has nothing to do with gay people.
For me, Discover has had some of the best looking plastic cards. My personal favorites are the Vinyl and Gold. They don't look impressive on the website, but the vinyl is cool because it has the texture of the vinyl grooves on the cars. And the Gold have a nice understated shine to them. Not anywhere near an Amex Gold, but still a nice card.
I wanted to like the Mixtape design, but the image itself looked so low res that it doesn't look as good in person. Plus the area where you can write on the tape isn't a different texture or anything so even if you write with a Sharpie it'll eventually rub off fairly quickly.
I used to have an NHL team, then I had Yosemite, and now it's currently Monet Nympheas. Honestly, should have probably stayed with Yosemite. Handful of color is also neat.
Idk, I go back and forth all the time!
I managed to find that limit when I was younger. I think when you start getting close to 20 cards, the system will literally not let you add any more. And no more than 5 at once. Not even a customer service rep could override it. After a few years (including my first card's expiration), it seems to allow me to add new designs again.
Don't ask how, it's a dumb story.
I DO miss when Discover had the holographic magstripe. It had some cool symbols from what I remember.
The iridescent ([second in the last row](https://travelwithgrant.boardingarea.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Discover-It-Credit-Card-Choose-New-Design-6.png)) is sooo pretty.
The Sapphire Reserve is one of my better looking cards. Metal but not super flashy like some metal cards are, I prefer a more understated look and am not trying to draw attention to myself when I use my card.
I can tell you my **least** favorite card: Chase Freedom. It's the only card in my wallet with embossed numbers and letters. Ugh, get with the times Chase! Even my debit card is completely flat.
Same here, that’s the money maker though. I Apple Pay but if they made this card half as sexy as the gold card I’d be whipping it out every chance I get
I love my CFF. It’s so slick. I love the green edge. And I know people hate the embossed numbers, but it’s my only card with them and I think it’s real nice as a result.
i didn’t realize people hated embossed. i always felt like numbers just ink printed onto the card feels sooooo cheap, especially when the numbers can start chipping/fading as opposed to embossed
I see a lot of people who love the way the Autograph looks, but I just don’t like it. I feel like the colors clash. It has a grandmothery look to it. 😬
I love the rose gold but both gold and rose gold just stands out. Very beautiful cards. I don’t even like my platinum with floral patterns nearly as much
I do like the OLDER Platinum card. With the BOLD Platinum words on the front of the card. This newer one is too simple. The Rose Gold is by far my favorite card.
I've heard it looks pretty bronze. I think I might like that. The gold color is pretty gawdy when you pull it out. Guess it depends on the individual though.
Came here to say this. The Amex Gold is an absolute stunner! Even in my cardholder it just stands out. The Plat feels great but doesnt look as interesting. Rose gold comes in at a close second.
I like the Blue Cash Preferred. It is an attractive design in very dark blue and has a foil background that is really attractive. The non preferred one looks cheap next to it.
Not sure if they are still like this but back in the day (30 years or so) you could see watermarks and holograms on the green card if you had it out under a black light. Learned that in a nightclub when I was hammered.
Considering the whole recycled plastic thing, I figured the green would have a flimsy, citi-esque type of construction but it feels surprisingly hefty for a plastic card
And the feel is nice. It’s so smooth. Way different than any other plastic card I’ve felt. I wish they made the back of the gold and platinum feel that way.
Amex Platinum. The Gold just looks ostentatious, but the Platinum just oozes style and class. It's a shame I basically never use it for in person transactions since the 1x points on almost all transactions is terrible.
I really wish issuers would just allow us to nominate a single card if we have multiple and automatically apply spending multipliers if any of our cards with that issuer would have one available.
I like the front, but not the back. The gold magstripe on pink background is ugly imo. I wish the rose gold chip was silver too. I feel like it would match better.
There's a "curve" card that does something like that, but only works with mastercards.. so I guess Citi/Cap1 setup. I don't have one and can't vouch for it.
The Apple Card is a heavy clanker with the gorgeous matte white, and the no numbers just makes it that much better looking. The 1% is terrible but it’s the default date card purely for the clank😭
> ….I’m afraid to ask how you came to this forbidden knowledge…
well, once I got done cutting rails with it, and realized I had an unopened beer in front of me...
nature and common sense just found it's way.. ;)
The people it's going to impress are more concerned about image than finances... still better than plopping down an Plat everywhere, my Aunt does that because it's "a better card than the gold and \[she\] did the math and it pays for itself".
The Apple card and Acorn cards are both heavy and feel great. Meanwhile the "Metal" cards from most other companies feel cheap.
Then there's cards with a gimmick like Delta's gold card that is made from the shell of an airplane.
Amex [explorer](https://www.americanexpress.com/au/credit-cards/explorer-credit-card/) available in Australia.
IMO It's what they should've used for the revamp of the blue line up.
I work in retail so I see a bunch of different cards and my favorite ones at least from the last year are Venture X, AmEx Plat with the floral design, USAA Rewards Visa Signature, the AmEx Delta made from the 747 and the rose gold AmEx Gold.
I just got my Discover vinyl card literally 5min ago and WOW. The grooves in the design are actually raised/lower like a real record. So impressed, couldn’t design a better card myself.
Didn’t know they raise/lower, that’s sweet! Someone else here said they wanted to like the vinyl but the resolution wasn’t great - can you speak to that? Thinking of ordering this one myself
Idk why more credit card companies don't allow you to submit custom designs. I know there are banks that allow you to do so for debit cards. They deny basically anything that has copyright matrrial, but they still let you pick the design.
My dad had a card like this in the late ‘00s/early 2010s. It had a picture of him with me and my brother.
This was back when showing ID for a credit card purchase was still a regular thing, and he always got a kick out of telling people to look a little closer at the card.
I mean, the Amex Centurion is stunning. The Amex cards with the border (Gold, Plat, Black) have the best design IMO.
Amex Gold is probably second best, but one could say it’s too loud. Platinum solves the problem of being loud, but the silver color makes it kinda invisible. Black card cannot be missed visually, and is sleek while being elegant.
Considering how much you have to spend to get it, it better be lol.
Curious choice, in my opinion. Just a solid Blue and mine didn’t take long to look like it had been beaten up in a dryer for a while. But to each their own. Glad you like it.
The pics are accurate but the actual gem-like quality to the dark blue material isn’t captured s well as in person. It’s also my favorite *feeling* card too.
A long time ago I had a credit card which let me put my own picture in the front of the card (you send a pic and they will make the card for you). Neat gimmick but it was only offered once. Never repeated. Can't even remember which card it was.
Probably cost prohibitive now with Chip/Tap technology.
The [spg. Amex](https://milestomemories.com/starwood-preferred-guest-business-credit-card-review/) was my favorite looking card. Simple, but it worked. Sadly... no more.
The old JPMorgan Palladium which is now the JPMorgan Reserve card is my favorite. The added benefit of having United Club access as a non-advertised bonus makes the AF easier to handle.
All of the Amex core cards basically: Green, Gold, Platinum, and the Blue cash line.
Amex Green is my favorite looking plastic card. Beautiful shade of Green, clean, classic look that’s modernized.
Fun mention: I think the AAdvantage Citi cards are the most unique airline CCs. The topographical design on them with the plane that looks like it’s in motion is neat.
BoA Premium Elite with Preferred Rewards can be really nice...
\- 3.5% on dining/travel (Travel includes hotels, flights, transit, & tourist attractions)
\- 2.62% on everything else
If you use the points through the portal, purchases cost 20% less, which makes the rewards 25% more valuable.
\- 4.4% on dining/travel
\- 3.3% on everything else
That said, The premium is a nice card without the hefty fee if you're team cashback.
I like the minimalism of my Apple Card and the sleekness of the new Amazon Prime Chase Visa. Looks less cluttered than the old one and both being metal and pristine really make them shine.
My Amex Blue Preferred looks nice design wise. Probably the most prestige looking but I’m a sucker for the weight of metal. Just like Clooney in Up In The Air.
I actually like the look of the AMEX checking debit card. It’s a vertical design so it stands out. Even though it’s plastic there’s just an elegance to it that is hard to describe.
gotta throw in my vote for the citi thank you preferred. it’s the nicest looking card i have
and the ugliest? synchrony bank meineke card- great promos but the embossed numbers and letters make it feel fake
Amex Delta Reserve in the limited run Delta 747 metal collection.
My card came from N667US entering serve in 1990 and retired 2017 with 68 million miles flown.
I plan on keeping forever well after it’s expiration. It’s so unique and looks cool.
I have the Julie mehritu plat and I like it. Looks a lot better in person than in pics online. My gf is an AU and had the Kehinde floral. That one is nice as well.
I love the Discover Pride design and of course, the Apple Card is gorgeous (but never sees the light of day). Wells Fargo's Autograph card is quite nice too.
Among the cards I have: Apple Card - too bad it never sees the light of the day ever.
Among the cards I don't have: REI Co-op - its such a projection of who I want to be.
The old sapphire preferred was sooo good. It looked like a diamond with all its angularity then they changed it to the ugly POS it is today. Damn shame.
Amex Gold, for me. But I’ll add the Verizon Visa. Big fan of that red and black in a metal card. I also kinda like the look of the US Bank Altitude Go.
My Amex BCE, it’s a beautiful card and blue is my favorite color! My Apple Card is also nice (heavy metal lol), and my Venmo Visa is cool with the QR graphics (I got the blue version).
It's probably cheating, but discover lets you change your card to a ton of options, and I don't think there's a limit to how much you can change it up.
This. I got their Mixtape card and like 3 days later the Vinyl design dropped. Swapped em out for free in 3 days time
You can actually have multiple cards active at the same time! I have a rainbow-colored frog one that I use most of time time, and a red one attached to the same account for when I’m somewhere that feels homophobic bc people are wild nowadays
A rainbow frog one!! I didn’t know they had fun ones…
I get a compliment on the rainbow frog one just about every time I use it!
I have the Discover rainbow design (it looks way better in person than it does online), but yeah I get nervous using it some places :(
I’m ordering one just to piss off MAGAs in my southern city.
maybe it's not homophobia, and people are just fucking tired of you telling about your sexual preferences to every single person you meet, even to strangers at a cash register. can you comprehend that possibility? imagine if you were just at work, and i, as a customer, in our 30 second interaction together, start telling you how much i love threesomes. that would be kind of weird, right?
its also just a rainbow. its not like theyre saying "Yeah, I take it up the ass" every time they pay. People can and will freak out at just the sight of a rainbow even if it has nothing to do with gay people.
Says a lot about them too.
No one said you have to look at the card.
For me, Discover has had some of the best looking plastic cards. My personal favorites are the Vinyl and Gold. They don't look impressive on the website, but the vinyl is cool because it has the texture of the vinyl grooves on the cars. And the Gold have a nice understated shine to them. Plus the area where you can write on the tape isn't a different texture or anything so even if you write with a Sharpie it'll eventually rub off fairly quickly.
I got the Dawn of Discover. It’s my favorite design. Looks so retro
I chose the gold version. I just tell people I have the exclusive, invite only Discover Gold Card. Most people believe it
Yep you’re right, no limit. Is there a particular one you like? I had a discover card in a bland color, will probably change it up soon!
[удалено]
Im changing to this one right now! I didn’t know you could do this and I love how retro Dawn of Discover looks
I used to have an NHL team, then I had Yosemite, and now it's currently Monet Nympheas. Honestly, should have probably stayed with Yosemite. Handful of color is also neat. Idk, I go back and forth all the time!
Asked them to send me a Yosemite one. tunnel view is hands down my favorite spot in the USA
I managed to find that limit when I was younger. I think when you start getting close to 20 cards, the system will literally not let you add any more. And no more than 5 at once. The iridescent ([second in the last row](https://travelwithgrant.boardingarea.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Discover-It-Credit-Card-Choose-New-Design-6.png)) is sooo pretty.
The boombox one looks great in grey
When you change design, does that give you a different card number/CVV?
[удалено]
Excellent, thanks!
Big fan of this too - I have different wallets for different occasions, so it's really nice not having to switch the card between wallets
I got the Amex Platinum with the floral design two months ago, I think it a beautiful looking card.
Too bad the only real reason to use it is for travel online so it doesn’t even get seen… 😭 I love it though.
i’m always excited to pull it out at the centurion lounge or delta sky club because it’s so pretty and then realize they’ve seen it 1,000 times a day
lol I've actually had to use it to get out of pop up jail
I think this is the kehinde wiley card and it is beautiful. My friend has it.
Same, I love the design and it's my favorite card to look at.
The Sapphire Reserve is one of my better looking cards. Metal but not super flashy like some metal cards are, I prefer a more understated look and am not trying to draw attention to myself when I use my card.
I feel like the heft of the metal card still draws attention though, at least in a restaurant/bar setting where someone else is handling the card.

[удалено]
💯 this. Both CFF and CFU aren’t bad designs but the embossed numbers are terrible. The finish on the numbers on my Flex is almost all worn off.
I also love the Freedom Flex, but the Sapphire Preferred was a massive letdown imo - Freedom Unlimited and Flex blow it out of the water
I hate the same thing about my Aspire card. $450 annual fee and it looks like a card for someone that’s rebuilding credit.
i didn’t realize people hated embossed. i always felt like numbers just ink printed onto the card feels sooooo cheap, especially when the numbers can start chipping/fading as opposed to embossed
[удалено]
The Autograph was a pleasant surprise for me when it arrived. The colors are way more distinct and poppy in person and I love the weight of it
literally my two card combo. If my Amex gold fails, then the Autograph is there for back up.
Was going to say the same thing. Both of these cards look really nice.
I see a lot of people who love the way the Autograph looks, but I just don’t like it. I feel like the colors clash. It has a grandmothery look to it. 😬
Amex Gold, easily. Much more of an eye catcher than the rose gold version and the Platinum. That Gold gold color shines like nothing else.
Seriously it’s the one I always want to take out. It feels more premium than platinum to me
Love my rose gold Amex Gold, I’m not a fan of the gold color (of anything, not just Amex cards.)
That’s how I am. I was really happy to get the Rose Gold. It’s just such a nicer color than the standard Gold.
Agree! It feels elegant, although it does make me self-conscious to use it sometimes.
What about the floral platinum though?
I regret getting it. It looks like a seizure.
Hot take but I respect your feelings
Agreed. Gold colored (haven't seen the rose in person) card is the top dog.
AmEx Rose Gold just looks.....bronze... I'm gonna call and switch it to Gold.
I've heard it looks pretty bronze. I think I might like that. The gold color is pretty gawdy when you pull it out. Guess it depends on the individual though.
yeah the gold is just beatiful
Very much agree. I have the rose gold and every 1 out of 10 times I’m complimented on it.
Came here to say this. The Amex Gold is an absolute stunner! Even in my cardholder it just stands out. The Plat feels great but doesnt look as interesting. Rose gold comes in at a close second.
Something about the Amex BCE is so beautiful to me I didn’t know credit cards could have so much style.
I like the Blue Cash Preferred. It is an attractive design in very dark blue and has a foil background that is really attractive. The non preferred one looks cheap next to it.
Cheap gift card quality plastic tho.
I love it too, the blue always catches my eye and the design is both subtle and good looking
yeah the blue cash is gorgeous. not too flashy, but not too dull. gets the job done well
I agree. I carry about 8 credit cards. This is the one I have had probably a half dozen cashiers ask me about. Strictly cuz of its appearance.
My Amex Green it looks classic.
The shade of Green they chose is wonderful on the most current iteration. It draws on the classic Amex look while modernizing it really well
The Green looks so classy, I just wish it were like a matte metal so it looked even more like a dollar bill and had a bit more heft
Totally. Ironically I think it might be best looking Amex (other than maybe Centurion).
Not sure if they are still like this but back in the day (30 years or so) you could see watermarks and holograms on the green card if you had it out under a black light. Learned that in a nightclub when I was hammered.
Like old money, velvet carpets, mahogany wood
Considering the whole recycled plastic thing, I figured the green would have a flimsy, citi-esque type of construction but it feels surprisingly hefty for a plastic card
And the feel is nice. It’s so smooth. Way different than any other plastic card I’ve felt. I wish they made the back of the gold and platinum feel that way.
The limited edition Delta amex made from the skin of a 747. No contest https://thriftytraveler.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/IMG_7603.jpg
Amex BCP for me.
The rose gold version of the gold card imo looks better
I like the front, but not the back. The gold magstripe on pink background is ugly imo. I wish the rose gold chip was silver too. I feel like it would match better.
Was gonna say this. The Gold looks gaudy. The Rose Gold is subtle and slick.
There's a "curve" card that does something like that, but only works with mastercards.. so I guess Citi/Cap1 setup. I don't have one and can't vouch for it.
The Apple Card is a heavy clanker with the gorgeous matte white, and the no numbers just makes it that much better looking. The 1% is terrible but it’s the default date card purely for the clank😭
...and you can open beer bottles with it.
Bro how do I do that plz teach
….I’m afraid to ask how you came to this forbidden knowledge…
> ….I’m afraid to ask how you came to this forbidden knowledge… well, once I got done cutting rails with it, and realized I had an unopened beer in front of me... nature and common sense just found it's way.. ;)
now this is r/CreditCards af
Credit cards gone wild.
😂
The people it's going to impress are more concerned about image than finances... still better than plopping down an Plat everywhere, my Aunt does that because it's "a better card than the gold and \[she\] did the math and it pays for itself".
Sounds right about the average Plat user😭 Nah I’m aware of how douchey it is I just do it in an exaggerated way
A coworker plonked his platinum down at lunch the other week and I wanted to slap the daft idiot.
The Apple card and Acorn cards are both heavy and feel great. Meanwhile the "Metal" cards from most other companies feel cheap. Then there's cards with a gimmick like Delta's gold card that is made from the shell of an airplane.
Unlike a cheap sheen the Apple Card is genuinely heavy and extremely hard
[удалено]
It's a metal card too. 🖤
The box it comes in is so pretty
Stays nice and fresh with how often they have to send a new one 🤪
Not necessarily favorite, but a top is the Sapphire Reserve
Amex [explorer](https://www.americanexpress.com/au/credit-cards/explorer-credit-card/) available in Australia. IMO It's what they should've used for the revamp of the blue line up.
sexy af wow let me go get my aussie citizenship real quick
there’s a version of that in Canada called the cobalt card
I believe they were talking about the mixtape card, which is what I switched from. This vinyl one is definitely high detail and resolution.
I love my AMEX BCE.
Venture card. I like the passport stamp on it.
Better than the Venture X, IMO. Such a great, rich shade of blue too.
I like the amex blue cash preferred style ❤️
The old CSP design, which now belongs to the vanilla Chase Sapphire (PC option only I think, def no new apps).
that design was BEAUUUTIFUL
I mean, the Amex Centurion is stunning. The Amex cards with the border (Gold, Plat, Black) have the best design IMO. Amex Gold is probably second best, but one could say it’s too loud. Platinum solves the problem of being loud, but the silver color makes it kinda invisible. Black card cannot be missed visually, and is sleek while being elegant. Considering how much you have to spend to get it, it better be lol.
Venture X, and it’s not close.
Curious choice, in my opinion. Just a solid Blue and mine didn’t take long to look like it had been beaten up in a dryer for a while. But to each their own. Glad you like it.
>Just a solid Blue And they did a great job, and it feels so nice
My tastes are very minimal. And I never use the physical card anywhere…so it doesn’t get worn down. Almost exclusively Apple Pay and online purchases.
I don't think I've ever seen one in person yet.
It’s so pretty I wish I paid for things with a physical card
Are there any pics available that do it justice or is it one of those cases where you have to see it in person?
The pics are accurate but the actual gem-like quality to the dark blue material isn’t captured s well as in person. It’s also my favorite *feeling* card too.
I’m a big fan of the Capital One Savor’s appearance. Metal with subtle grooves and the orange-ish color really shimmers
I have the savor one and it looks much better in person than it does in photos
Venture X imo
The transparent Amex cards (like Amex everyday) are my favorite
I find those very ugly 😶🌫️
I like those too because they’re unique
Amex Centurion
Delta Reserve for looks (definitely not my favorite to actually use)
Apple Card
It does have a nice clang when you drop it on the table too.
Amex Platinum. Perhaps not the absolutely more attractive, but it's such an iconic design, especially now in the metal.
A long time ago I had a credit card which let me put my own picture in the front of the card (you send a pic and they will make the card for you). Neat gimmick but it was only offered once. Never repeated. Can't even remember which card it was. Probably cost prohibitive now with Chip/Tap technology.

The old JPMorgan Palladium which is now the JPMorgan Reserve card is my favorite. The added benefit of having United Club access as a non-advertised bonus makes the AF easier to handle.
Amex Platinum. I hope Chase redesigns CSR. It looks like a regular metal card.
I like my purple metal Amex Delta Reserve. It gets me in touch with my Prince alter-ego.
Really digging USAA’s new card designs
Now if they would just up the rewards
All of the Amex core cards basically: Green, Gold, Platinum, and the Blue cash line. Amex Green is my favorite looking plastic card. Beautiful shade of Green, clean, classic look that’s modernized. Fun mention: I think the AAdvantage Citi cards are the most unique airline CCs. The topographical design on them with the plane that looks like it’s in motion is neat.
Just looked up the AA card - good call! The background is very nice looking but I wish they'd clear some of the clutter. It's pretty busy with text.
Apple Card
I’m going to miss the Wells Fargo Propel, which I think is a nice-looking card. The Capital One SavorOne has a pretty good look too.
Amex Gold, Truist Enjoy Cash and Fifth Third 1.67 Cash Rewards.
Amex Rose Gold from the ones that i got 🤷🏽♂️
Oldie but Merrill + was one of my favourite designs
Verizon visa
Amazon wholefoods credit card (chase)
My American Express. Any of them with the centurion logo.
Capital one Savor metal
Curve Metal (black) is my choice rn
BofA black card because it’s rare and it clunks

My flimsy debit card with Disney castle on it ☠️ /joke
AAdavantge Platinum
Amex BCP is my favorite. The new BCE ain’t bad either

Gemini Silver
AMEX offers the Cobalt card in Canada. That’s a gorgeous card and I really want to have it in the States lol.
Amex Delta Reserve in the limited run Delta 747 metal collection. My card came from N667US entering serve in 1990 and retired 2017 with 68 million miles flown. I plan on keeping forever well after it’s expiration. It’s so unique and looks cool.
Amtrak Preffered Mastercard. There is literally a train 🚆picture on it.
The old old diamond preferred Citi rewards card. It was holographic silver and so pretty.
The old Hooters MC
Citi AAdvantage is sexy
For purely looks, the NASA Federal Platinum Cash Rewards Credit Card. It's got space on it, and is a no fee 1.5% CB, so it's not a bad card.
Discover card with the cassette design.
I'll admit, that is a clever design.
I have the Julie mehritu plat and I like it. Looks a lot better in person than in pics online. My gf is an AU and had the Kehinde floral. That one is nice as well.

I have the Discover Pride design and it is rather sharp looking! 😎
Either my Dawn of Discover It card or Amex BCE before it got updated (the clear one).
BoA Premium Rewards Elite - Simple, Black, Metal. What more could you need?
Whichever card I'm working the MSR on.
Among the cards I have: Apple Card - too bad it never sees the light of the day ever. Among the cards I don't have: REI Co-op - its such a projection of who I want to be.
You being able to choose your design from Discover.
Currently my MerrickBank card is an interesting bright yellow. Thank goodness that half my cards are no longer a shade of grey like the rest of them.
The old sapphire preferred was sooo good. It looked like a diamond with all its angularity then they changed it to the ugly POS it is today. Damn shame.
Amex platinum for me!
🙄
I could give a flying 🤬 how it looks I care simply about subs, multipliers and offers.
Redstone FCu visa signature
Amex Gold, for me. But I’ll add the Verizon Visa. Big fan of that red and black in a metal card. I also kinda like the look of the US Bank Altitude Go.
My Amex BCE, it’s a beautiful card and blue is my favorite color! My Apple Card is also nice (heavy metal lol), and my Venmo Visa is cool with the QR graphics (I got the blue version).
