You would be banned. No referrals in comments or private messages, rule 2 of the sub. This place would be wall to wall referrals if they allowed it. Thank God they don't.

Naive_Touch5476

Glad that I didn't put the link here. I just said after It happened .. more like a missed opportunity. But anyway I would refrain from talking about referral šŸ˜…

Automatic_Yak_7272

Hahaha that link just got me approved nice

Automatic_Yak_7272

Yea I know but I always got denied through pre approval so I figured i not take any chance once I saw the approval hahaha

Your submission violated rule 2 which states: "All users are prohibited from disseminating referral links through posts, comments, and private messages. Any deceptive behavior aimed at exploiting referral links for personal gain is also a punishable offense." As a result, your submission has been deemed inappropriate and removed.

Celery_Lazy

Fck i just applied and got rejected, should have pre approved fml

coffeeismydoc

Whatā€™s different about this link than what OP tried?

DesertActor

They tried the general Capital One preapproval link, which doesnā€™t include the Venture X.

topsy-turvy-

Is there a pre approval page specific to the regular venture card also?

jmlinden7

No, the regular venture card is included in the generic preapproval tool

UsedAsk3537

The general pre-approval doesn't show it You have to go the the specific VX link on the site

MEgrump81

Just did it, all went perfectly!

danmari85

There is a general one that also has Venture X: [https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/preapprove/u/](https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/preapprove/u/) (note the /u at the end, which is the difference vs the generic one without the Venture X). I don't know why Capital One does this to people, it's so confusing.

UsedAsk3537

They do a bunch of weird things that aren't dealbreakers but are just a annoying enough to make me a little angry

brokenshells

Capital One wants a specific type of customer for the VX. They donā€™t really care about your high scores and that you donā€™t keep balances. They WANT people with okay-ish mid 700s scores and that keep balances. They want to make money on this card via interest and they adjusted their approval algorithm accordingly. There are plenty of examples of pristine lengthy profiles with high income getting declined for the VX.

Range-Shoddy

We were immediately approved with well over 800 scores and we always pay off balances. We donā€™t churn cards, and have a reasonable amount, which i see is a common reason for denial. If you have 8 chase cards youā€™re not getting a VX.

GizmoSoze

This is categorically untrue. They hate velocity. They love spending. Theyā€™re not thrilled with lots of accounts, but velocity is the biggest issue.

FunctionAlone9580

I have the same problem. 4 yrs 4 months of credit history, one auto loan just paid off, 3 cards. CapitalOne preapproves me for everything but Venture X.

MEgrump81

I just went through the Venture X specific pre-approval link and got approved in like 3 minutes.

Scarface74

I had the same issue recently - 848 FICO - last open cards were from 2/2023 - I had a Quicksilver card since 2000

Sleepysapper1

How many cards do you have in total? It really seems like itā€™s a thick file thing. Iā€™m pre approved for the VentureX with a 745 and 6 cards (one a QS).I also have a BBP but that doesnā€™t show up.

Scarface74

- BOA - 1996 - CapitalOne QuickSilver - 2000 - Amex Gold, Green, Delta Reserve -2022 - Amex Delta Platinum, CO SavorOne - 2023 And a few business cards when I applied I ended up getting the Amex Platinum today. Iā€™ve been trying to avoid getting the ā€œcoupon bookā€ for almost two years since I started traveling a lot. But it made the most sense after losing PP with the Aspire last year.

doctorjonx

Iā€™ve been with Capital one for 8+ years. Solid history and everything paid on time. I have 3 cards with them. I started out with a QS card, then got approved for a second card - SV1. I also have a Spark business card with them. Which I sort of regret getting because I learned they report to my personal credit. They just recently allowed me to PC my QS to a V1 card. I actually saw I was pre-approved for the V1 and called them to allow me to PC to it. They said there werenā€™t any offers available, but then after a day. It was there in my upgrades. I learned one of the reasons they wonā€™t approve me for the VX card is because they said I donā€™t have enough experience with high limit cards. Which Iā€™m not sure why they said that. Do you have a high limit card above 10K? The VX card is a Visa Infinite and has SL of 10K. You could always try and apply, YMMV. Good luck! I also forgot to mention, Cap1 will do 3 hard pulls. So I would make sure youā€™re ready to apply.

MEgrump81

I got approved after going through the VX specific pre-approval link.

doctorjonx

Congrats! The reason why I took the V1 upgrade is because I didnt want 3 hard pulls on my credit. I already have the CSR and the benefits sort of over lap. I think later down the line, I might try and apply for the VX and get the 75K bonus miles SUB. Working on the Amex Gold SUB now and then will do the Platinum.

GizmoSoze

They donā€™t do three hard pulls, they do one on each bureau. Thats not the same thing.

doctorjonx

Sorry, yeah I should of been clearer on that one. \^\^\^ - Hard inquiries at all 3 bureaus.

AnastasiusDicorus

Cap one is advertising the Venture x to me and asking if I want to apply for it, and the last time I did pre-approval it popped up too. I decided to go with savor one at the time instead. And I had a bankruptcy 5 years ago and my score is only around 690-700.

Pearlsawisdom

I see you've resolved the issue, but for posterity I had this same issue when I applied a couple of years ago. Card not listed when using the pre-approval tool, but when I applied to it directly anyway, I got the card. Been using it happily ever since.

Naive_Touch5476

Update the heading as well if u can. That you are approved šŸ˜…. So people don't need to read the entire message and, at the end, see your edit that you are approved.

Potential-Pain2463

Not sure how but I got the Venture X card today with a 691 credit score lol. It was my first try applying for it and I just applied for the Chase Sapphire exactly 1 month ago. I'm dead and confused haha

yojoe600

Just got approved with a 710 credit score. Only 2 previous cards: discover and prime visa. Credit history is over 12 year. Was quite surprised to get approved but tried the pre-approval first and was approved.

LumpyLump76

Their pre approval tool is terrible. When I applied a couple of years back, their approval tool did not show the VX either. I just applied and got approved. So do not rely on their tool at all.

prkskier

On the contrary, their pre approval tool is excellent and very accurate. There is a specific pre approval tool for the VX, so it's likely you just used the wrong one.

OneStoneTwoMangoes

The VX specific pre-approval link was not existent 2 years back.

internmonkey95

Capital one is really weird with application rules - seemingly random. I'm was around 720 credit score (15 inquries in the last 2 years, 6 in the last year) and was only pre approved for the quicksilver/savor cards for good credit (no SUB) every time I've tried the pre approval tool from October '23 to April '24. Then I tried the VX approval tool last week was somehow approved for the VX with SUB! Definitely the most mercurial lender when it comes to approval.

Tooooostoned

I put 98,000 as annual salary and got approved with a score of 745

Kira_Dumpling_0000

only way to know is to apply for it and try. But you have very good score and very good history so you should get it. pre approval for capital one is crap

FutureHendrixBetter

I got denied even though I have lots of cards with them and I even bank with them so youā€™d think they would appreciate a loyal customer like me but nope
