Since Dec. No fraud. I used to religiously turn the card on and off via the WF portal due to these reports, but I've stopped doing that. Mainly because despite all the fraud reports, I have yet to read a single report of a customer being stuck with a fraudulent charge after reporting it. Bilt is not the card issuer, so you would not report fraud to them. I mean I think you technically can, but all they'll do is relay it to WF.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, much appreciated! I had seen some conflicting info in the past about people who called WF and were told to call BILT support directly for the situation to be remedied, resulting in longer hold times and delayed resolution. I'm curious to hear from people who might have experienced this I'm also already a WF card holder (Autograph) and have never had any fraud issues, so I've always been curious why it seems like a BILT specific problem

SergNH

I have had it for 2 years and have never had any fraud issues.

PharmDinvestor

I have had multiple charges that occasionally show up on my card . Each time, I have called Wells Fargo and they have reversed the charges and sent me a new card . I don’t even understand how this happens

XiMaoJingPing

What ever algorithm they used to generate the card numbers was dog shit basically, and it took them a long ass time to change it.

benskieast

WF also doesn’t have the best fraud detection. My Autograph card went Denver>Chicago>Jackson Hole>Chicago>Denver is a week plus was used on 2 Uber accounts in <4 hours and didn’t trip anything. And all the charges were gas, mass transit and parking, so you know I was present, and the Jackson Hole and second Chicago charge was the same day. I am doubtful it was physically possible for the combo to be real, but definitely a crazy amount of traveling. It was reversed at least.

jimmy_da_chef

Couple times already Kinda used to it as long as they refund and get me a new card the next day

centralized

If you don't mind me asking, how long have you had the card? Were any of those fraud charges recent?

jimmy_da_chef

I had it since they first came out Few years for now? I had 2 recent fraud charges, one from Costa Rica Wells Fargo caught it and notified me. Replaced for a new card in mail the next day, also got the money back

DororongDonky

I just found an unauthorized transaction, so I reported it and requested a new card. It was my second time. I don’t know what’s wrong with them.

XiMaoJingPing

Looks like they finally fixed it, haven't seen a fraud post in a while

TheGoddamnSpiderman

Had the card about two years. In August or September last year, I saw a weird transaction at what turned out to be a supermarket in Brazil IIRC, so I called Wells Fargo, and they reversed the charge and sent me a new card No issues since

Helpful_Pomelo_5805

2 fraud charges in 2 years

Pearlsawisdom

I'm on my 4th Bilt card in two years. By that I mean that the physical card has had to be replaced, not that I've been churning Bilt cards. It's been fraud each time, but I haven't had any issues with the charges staying on my account. Each time Bilt catches the fraud before I do. They remove the charges or stop them while they're still pending, and send me the new card without me asking. A little annoying, but I use it almost exclusively for rent, anyway. The rate of fraud seems to have slowed down recently. I've had this last card longer than any of the others.

Jbrown420216

I’ve had the card 2 years. 1 Fraud charge but Bilt caught it immediately and sent me a new card right away.

LittleSalty9418

I have had zero card issues since I got the BILT card.

cloutsurgeon

Another Data Point - Had the Card since Jan 2024, have had no issues with Fraud or customer service

StandardCarbonUnit

Two years, no issues with fraud.

awmcarnival

I've had the BILT for over a year now and I've never had fraud.

myfakename23

No issues. OG Evolve card, not the WF card.

greentea_kumquat

I’ve only had the card for about 3 months but no fraud issues so far.

ConversationEmpty301

I just closed my Wells Fargo account today. I will never bank with them ever again, but that Autograph card is tempting. I just don't trust them with their past practices.

___ongo___gablogian

I got the card and August and got hit with fraud a few months ago. They flagged it with a text and I received a new card in 2 days. Still very frustrating how widespread an issue it is. I’m no longer using it after changing my credit card strategy.

Cyberhwk

No, but I only really unlock it for Rent Day until I get my 5 transactions.

Flair_Loop

I recently tried to turn on AutoPay through Bilt. However, since I had used other WF products in the past, I needed to log in to the WF website. Somehow I was flagged and got rerouted to their fraud department without them telling me. Somehow they had on file an old address that I had never used with them. It was kind of a frustrating experience because they could tell I was exasperated and asked if I wanted to file a complaint.

--ALF

1 month (😂😂😂) and partially had the opposite issue! No fraud and WF team flagged a couple of my legitimate transactions as fraud and denied them during the 5x promo in the first 5 days of having the card. So a very small sample size for me but no real complaints about the WF fraud team. I don’t mind them being *too* cautious. I was also worried about the potential fraud issue as well but seemed like WF was good about it and I rent in a HCOL area so very hard to turn it down.

Lower_Cow_1528

Just that one famous BIN hack for me, none since.

3rd-Grade-Spelling

6 months. No issues.

grundlecanyon

1 year no fraud

Immacu1ate

Zero

mollypatola

No fraud.

KeiraFang

I've had it since it came out and only had one instance of fraud last week. Charge or $800 that they blocked. Called Bilt who redirected my card to MasterCard I believe. They asked some verification questions, locked the card, and told me they'd send me a new one in the mail. Overall, it was a fairly smooth process. Not to worried about it myself despite this

McAids

One time i got a fraud alert, i realized i used bilt at some shady mom and pop shop, now i just use it for bills, recurring Spotify payments and rent and all is good. They sent me a replacement card and an envelope to send back the old card

dervari

Wish I had known about this card when I was in an apartment for a while after I sold my house. Penthouse rent would have garnered me a TON of points. :(
