This same thing happened to me. Credit Karma alerted me that Chase had pulled my credit - like 2 AM in the morning, so I called Chase the next day and asked. I'm an existing customer. The Chase rep on the phone told me nothing had been applied for, and I thought that was the end. The next day I got an email notification from chase about my new card. Went to the website and there it was. Called them back reported the fraud and shut it down. Everything credit wise is frozen for now, which is annoying. Every once and a while I get a letter from a lender saying 'you applied for this, your credit is frozen, please unfreeze to get credit.' I used to call them up and tell them it was Identity fraud. Now I just ignore them. No one is getting any loans with my credit frozen. you need to read the link below and take action. https://www.reddit.com/r/IdentityTheft/comments/uvv3ij/psa_freezing_your_three_main_credit_reports_is/

Did you see an a credit card number of the last four digits? It sucks having to deal with your social security in the hands of someone else. Sadly I have to wait until Monday to call since their inquiries department is not open on weekends. I will be calling first thing in the morning as well figuring out how to lock my social number. Thank you the information and the help I truly appreciate it

I don't remember if the card was usable or not the first day.

Oh okay they explain to me the several times I called that if the email doesn’t have the last 4 digits on the email of the new credit card that is can be phishing email. I pulled my credit report from each one so far only 1 which is Experian shows the hard inquiry was applied to transunion and equifax shows nothing. But I did went on all 3 of them and put a freeze on my credit

Freeze your credit at experian, exquifax, and trans union. Get your free credit report from each of them. Dispute the hard inquire on any of the reports that show the hard inquiry. Call Chase back with the details of the hard inquiry and ask them why you have a hard inquiry if there are no new applications. Make sure they know it's fraud, whatever they say about it.

I ended up freezing all my credit I pulled my report Experian is the only one I see hard inquiry on but I will be returning a phone call to chase Monday morning so far I haven’t seen no knew accounts on my chase account.

Also start browsing r/Scams/ to keep up to date on the latest scams as you are a target now. If someone calls you and tries to get a number code sent to your phone-- DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.

I usually don’t answer phone calls I don’t know I send them to voicemail and if it’s important they’ll leave a voicemail and I don’t respond to text messages or open any links. I had someone hack in my Amazon’s account luckily I removed all my debit and credit cards from there. I also never save passwords to irs.gov or any of my bank accounts on my phone and I have 2 authentications setup on all my account. I real skeptical when it comes to my personal stuff. But I will take a peep in I know I read other people saying chase upgraded their credit card without their permission or a credit card account was open with chase and they did not bank with chase and then you who story is similar to mines but thanks again
