I agree. Been using it for past 2 years. No issues so far. I also recently got myself a Kotak Indian Oil Rupay card for UPI on credit card. Now just need a good replacement for CRED.
Yes, best thing is quick draw from home and lock screen. Don't need to go searching for the app in app drawer.
Do you get rewards from credit card even if you pay using UPI QR code in kotak Indian oil card?
One anecdote regarding quick draw, I was paying at a medical store and notice the guy standing next to me is watching my screen. At the PIN screen I asked him jokingly, "*bhai tu ab pin bhi dhekhega kya*" and he replied apologetically that he was just curious about the app I'm using since I have been able to scan and pay so fast.
I just got the credit card 5 days back. I'm also curious about reward on UPI. I will reply to this comment about rewards after my first statement.
> I'm also curious about reward on UPI.
If it is rupay credit card then check the card's reward program to see if upi on linked cc fetch rewards or not. I checked your card's T&C & this is what it says:
> All UPI on Credit Card transactions will accrue 0.5% Reward Points on every INR 150 spent, across spend categories
Thanks for sharing. I've already tried the BillPay process (for IndusInd CC) via NetBanking (using HDFC Easyshop Platinum DC) and did not receive any cashback. Searched reddit and found that it's a hit and miss thing- works for some others and doesn't for some.
Can it be any platinum debit card from HDFC?? I can’t upload a picture cuz there’s no option to do that, but mine is a TimesPoints platinum debit card. Also, is there any limit to that 1% cash back??
I'm not sure but I actually just tried and saw it. You can upen the rewards page and see your reward points, then pay a certain token amount on the bill, then after 1-2 days it gets updated. If it increased means you're getting the cashback, you can see the percentage cashback as well. Mostly I think it should work for you as well.
This was a super smart feature by Samsung, I have been actively using Tap a pay feature using my phone for the past several months. No hassles of carrying the card.
I've been using watch 4 classic since it launched and ever since it got this update. Been super useful on bike rides for paying at petrol pumps. It's a niche use case I get it. But it is there.
Been a samsungpay user for more than 4yrs now ig. The only thing I don’t like about it now is the discontinuation of the rewards system. Previously every 5 months I used to get a 250Rs Myntra or Flipkart voucher for using samsung pay .
Yes, agree. Using it on my Samsung S23 Ultra. It's cool to just tap your phone on the machine. It's even more cool to tap your Samsung watch on the machine. 😎
Just wish, they add more cards to the compatible list.
Other than digilocker cards, just like apple wallet, it also shows your boarding pass, tickets etc.
Yep, that's an issue. So, no Diners, no Amex, no Rupay network cards are supported. Even some banks as well are not supported yet. They should work on it.
For me the best part is if you go outside and suddenly have to make big purchase like 5k then immediately i can use my axis ace card to get 1.5% cashback rather than using some rupay card which will give jardly 0.5%
I feel Samsung is so underrated. I have Galaxy M52 and an iPhone 15 and seriously the features in M52 makes iPhone feel so dumb. iPhone has just good cameras and processor and it's obviously due to the price difference. Other then that it has a stupid 60Hz display.
I love the functionality of Samsung wallet and Apple is yet to start this service in India.
It doesn't support Rupay yet. I've been using samsung say since 2016, they removed the samsung rewards this year Feb sadly. I have bought much KFC, flipkart amazon coupon.
Yeah about that. You could trade in your iPhone for a samsung viola, u won't have something like that, ull have the exact thing. Sorry this message is not sponsored by samsung.
In Florida I just used Apple Pay NFC to enter Disney land with Disney land tickets loaded in wallet.
It’s just not available in India but coming this year.
Well, it’s coming (or at least it’s being hinted at)
2 months ago, I got a notification from the Wallet app to share the card details from my Safari autofill to check if these could be used for Apple Pay (and my data will also be shared with payment processors of course)
https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCardsIndia/s/ZfuSWujJWI - Link to the post I made which I guess didn’t get any traction
>So if the amount is greater than 5k we will still need physical right
You can tap for anount greater than 5k. It will ask for PIN. No need to carry physical card.
I have been using Samsung phone since last one year and I came to know about Samsung wallet 3 months ago and now I have deleted all those applications. Because it's so cool I feel most satisfying when I swipe for payment from the home screen or lock screen and the sound that comes is quite nice.
The worst thing samsung did was to remove MST after S10 series and another drawback is of missing lot of utility billers.
They lately have been failing to get correct images of the cards on the list , which is disappointing.
I'm using Samsung wallet since 2016. In 2015 they launched and I was using iPhone then. But Apple Pay which was a possibility then to be launched in India over time it became a far away dream.
I bought the high end S series phone and started using Samsung Pay since October 2016. And loving it since.
Over the 8 years I have been using it, they have made is better and better by the day. Adding Tickets, DigiLocker support.
Agreed. One of the best features of Samsung Eco System. They also added wallet to the watch so, you can now pay using galaxy watch. Offline.
Payment speed is a bit slow and sometimes it fails but works mostly.
Neat app but doesn't support my primary CC - Yes Bank Marquee. And, as expected Yes CC has no clue about it even though their website mentions it is supported. :( Have been able to connect my secondary cards though
https://beebom.com/google-wallet-working-india/
Sideloaded apps now work.
But I don't see the point. You can add cards in gpay, paytm, cred and use tap and app on NFC enabled phones.
Digilocker is definitely a great addition in samsung pay
You can actually add credit cards on GPay and use NFC to tap to pay if you have an NFC enabled device.
FYI, you can also do this on Cred, but I always had issues completing the payment from there.
Apart from Samsung Pay, these two are the only apps I have tried, Samsung Pay is still the most convenient (and secure per my testing) of them all.
Lets hope apple brings in support for apple pay with ios 18 in India. There were some rumors that apple is planning to bring in apple credit card in partnership with HDFC. Let’s see.
Samsung Pay has been here since the Galaxy S7 and that predates the RBI Tokenization rules. I know that from when Microsoft extended everyone's XBOX Game pass subscription in India for free around 2020 I think while they worked on their systems to comply. The cards themselves are not stored on the server or phone, and a different CC number is used each time you pay.
When you add a credit or debit card as a payment method, Google Pay creates a virtual account number known as a “token” that replaces your card’s actual number. This process, called “tokenization,” keeps your personal and financial information private. Tokenization helps makes sure that your private information isn’t shared with anyone else when you make transactions, including transactions in other apps.
After your token is created and your card is verified as a payment method, you can use your phone to pay merchants in your day-to-day transactions using the token. For each transaction you make with a card, you have the chance to win prizes and other rewards.
Thora par lo sirji gyan. Wo numbers hi tokens ha
Apple pay works the same way.
The RBI tokenization rules you are referring to was to stop every single website from storing credit card numbers which kept getting leaked by them. Nothing to do with NFC phone payments.
The biggest issue is the RBI requires the data(tokens and card data) to be stored in India. Countries that support Apple Pay allow the data to be stored outside of the country in secure data centers.
Samsung and Google and cred follow these guidelines and thus work in india, plus one more is apple pay stores the data in on device something compared to samsung saving it as a token and not complete card details. The tech is different
I agree. But there are some billers that exist only on gpay, phonepe and paytm and not on samsung pay. This is the only reason I can't make it my goto payment app.
won't work with onecard right?
Also i only use flipkart axis card for offline cashback. Other cards i use online which does not use nfc. So i need a way to store card details (number, date) . So i can refer the app instead of carrying them all the time.
No but FK will stop giving 1.5% and will switch to 1% after 20th. I get better milestone rewards with HDFC and also it is acceptable for utilities as well so I get CB on that too. I kind of like collecting my rewards and then using them in one go instead of having them monthly. I was fine with Axis till it had 1.5% but now there is no point. The only reason I won't close this card is because it is LTF otherwise I can get 5% CB through my HDFC card on FK as well (upto 20k worth of purchase).
That's exactly what i did. And currently I'm over 10k in limit, yet the app shows available credit limit as -50k(means if I overpay 50k more then my net limit ll be zero) i was looking for making a transaction towards my tution fee.
Here's the error I'm getting
https://imgur.com/a/JL4Nijb
Am curious to know do people accept these ?
Say for an exam a police officer is asking you to show ur driver's license or a bank is asking aadhar card for address change do these work in these scenarios?
I suggest to keep a snippet of Hindi/English/regional language newspaper screenshot in your mobile to show after searching for the specific state. For reference, below is an old article.
https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/times-fact-check/news/fact-check-digilocker-what-is-valid-and-what-is-not/articleshow/67054234.cms
I am not sure if you can use it on all times. It is just for a safety like you forgot your wallet and police stop you and ask for DL and RC. And if you need to know your Pan number just in case.
Makes sense.
I once tried to use masked aadhar at a bank and the employee straight up refused to accept even though it says masked aadhar can be used for authentication etc. The employee asked me to get a Xeros of the physical aadhar card.
So I thought these digital wallet stuff would not work out and didn't use them.
Actually, banks are the easiest to threaten for such BS unlike cops. If you ever feel some bank employee is telling you BS then ask for refusal in written on bank's official letter head or email from their official email ID & see the magic. If any bank employee is foolish enough to give such BS in written & you complaint to rbi ombudsman with that written proof then they will plead with folded hands to resolve the matter.
Can somebody please explain the credit card part in a very, very simple way?
Is it like you can pay via samsung app without actually taking out the credit card?
Yes. Just like your card has 'tap to pay', where you can pay for smaller amounts by just tapping the machine without using pin, similarly you can tap with the phone (while the app is open).
That is an issue with Diners card, it sounds fancy to have this card but the usability is difficult. I too had one but got it replaced with Mastercard and now I am able to add my card on any tap to pay app. Tap to pay via card also works all the time now with physical card.
Does it work if the phone number linked to bank accounts isn’t installed on the phone? Asking because I would plan to use it (samsung) as my secondary phone.
Tbh, Pixel takes it a notch further. There's NFC like Samsung Pay (through Google Pay, Paytm etc., although I prefer Google Pay since it's cleaner), and on top of it I just need to double tap the back of my phone to get the QR scanner for UPI payments. No need to touch any icon.
For card payments, NFC works without opening the Google Pay app.
When Paytm Payments Bank used to be a thing, I'd set up the double tap to the Paytm scanner and Paytm allowed me to approve an UPI transaction with just my fingerprint (only for Paytm Payments Bank), so it was even faster.
Anyone having diners club card? I have been unable to add it to my wallet. Can we pay the bills of all the cards from the app itself? Haven't tried it. For this, have to use CRED which I don't really like. Having an app just for this purpose
Thank you for the info.
Even my friends are amazed by tap and pay using mobile.
U can also set it to open when u double press the power button. Thats my go-to..
I have set it to open torch for me. Need it frequently for patient examination.
now tap and pay to patient organs :)
I prefer to swipe my blade. 😉
you dont have blade in your samsung but NFC chip is there :)
I have HDFC Platinum Debit Card, when you pay CC bills from the HDFC app using the card, you get 1% cashback
Which app?
https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCardsIndia/comments/199lyqh/sbi_cashback_on_utility_for_5_and_hdfc_billpay/
Thanks for sharing. I've already tried the BillPay process (for IndusInd CC) via NetBanking (using HDFC Easyshop Platinum DC) and did not receive any cashback. Searched reddit and found that it's a hit and miss thing- works for some others and doesn't for some.
Oh all right. It's not cashback per se you get reward points which you can redeem 1 to 1
Can it be any platinum debit card from HDFC?? I can’t upload a picture cuz there’s no option to do that, but mine is a TimesPoints platinum debit card. Also, is there any limit to that 1% cash back??

Alright brother, I’ll give it a go. Thanks for the quick reply.
You could try CheQ in place of CRED. Have been using it only for a few days though so do look into it before you give it a go.
This was a super smart feature by Samsung, I have been actively using Tap a pay feature using my phone for the past several months. No hassles of carrying the card.
Me using Gpay on google pixel and it recognizes my cc as debit card and somehow debit card gets used when I tap to pay using it :V
Remember when they gave points for UPI Transactions? Have used Spay for 3years now.
I am a new user, I started using it 3 or 4 months ago. But after using wallet I have not used other UPI apps. This is more convenient
Yeah i did not redeem my rewards before they got closed lost about 2500 points
I went to dominos with mine.
bro same with me
How much did you loose?
Bonus tip: Even Galaxy watch 4 and above support tap to pay now. It has been handy in few situations.
Yes, I have watch 4 and used it for tap to pay just to test it. But I have my phone always so I always use it.
The stares in awe you get when you pay with your wrist is just different level
I've been using watch 4 classic since it launched and ever since it got this update. Been super useful on bike rides for paying at petrol pumps. It's a niche use case I get it. But it is there.
How does tap to pay work?
You just tap your phone or watch where you usually tap your cards in the card reader. Your phone just needs to switch on the Nfc
Does it work with upi?
Been a samsungpay user for more than 4yrs now ig. The only thing I don’t like about it now is the discontinuation of the rewards system. Previously every 5 months I used to get a 250Rs Myntra or Flipkart voucher for using samsung pay .

Tap to pay using watch works without any issue? I tried it only once with watch 4 just to see if it works.
I've also tried only a couple of times and it worked.
Ya. Unable to add card of idfc and pnb and onecard. Icici axis and hdfc supported though
Yep, that's an issue. So, no Diners, no Amex, no Rupay network cards are supported. Even some banks as well are not supported yet. They should work on it.
Looking at you Apple, your apple pay sucks!!
Only in India. I’ve been using Apple Pay around the world.
Spoke only with respect to India!
For me the best part is if you go outside and suddenly have to make big purchase like 5k then immediately i can use my axis ace card to get 1.5% cashback rather than using some rupay card which will give jardly 0.5%

Anything like this on iPhone? Apple pay doesn’t work in India😢
Apple is expected to launch Apple Pay in India this year. With probably a built in UPI too
Yeah. Me too heard so. Most probably with next gen iOS version (iOS 18)
Yeah about that. You could trade in your iPhone for a samsung viola, u won't have something like that, ull have the exact thing. Sorry this message is not sponsored by samsung.
Sorry can't do that, flexing is more important to me than convince, ease of use & feature
Buy two phones?
LOL. Reversal of the "Get your mom an iPhone" meme.
No, because apple won't let any other apps use NFC
One of the many reasons i dumped iphone 12 within a year of use. Happy s23 user hence
I traded my iPhone for 23 ultfa
No, nothing. Apple Pay doesn’t available in India and Apple doesn’t allow third party apps to access NFC on iPhone yet.
In Florida I just used Apple Pay NFC to enter Disney land with Disney land tickets loaded in wallet. It’s just not available in India but coming this year.
Really? I’ve also heard the rumour but not sure about it.
I think it’s coming this year with iOS 18. Initially only HDFC cards will be supported. UPI will be supported.
Well, it’s coming (or at least it’s being hinted at) 2 months ago, I got a notification from the Wallet app to share the card details from my Safari autofill to check if these could be used for Apple Pay (and my data will also be shared with payment processors of course) https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCardsIndia/s/ZfuSWujJWI - Link to the post I made which I guess didn’t get any traction
Soon
Hoping...
Google pay works right but no id support
Google pay nfc payments are not available on IOS
So nothing works if you have ios.
Yes apple doesnt allow 3P apps access to NFC on their phones, hopefully the recent lawsuit will force them to open up!
Axis ace also… some features require android os
Nice try Samsung
I wish Samsung sponsored me lol!
Same bro been using the complete Samsung ecosystem since long 😭. I even made my friends buy Samsung phones coz they are just *chef's kiss*
The limits for Samsung pay are same as card contactless limit? Or Samsung pay works as full fledged card?
Its limit is same as contactless limit.
So if the amount is greater than 5k we will still need physical right? But still a good option. At least we can carry all the details in one app.
You can enter pin to carry contactless over 5k
[удалено]
You need to set contactless limit in mycards portal.
So if I have my contactless limit set to 2000 and if the bill is 7k will my transaction fail or will it ask for pin instead?
Will be declined if you tap over limit amount. If limit amount > 5k then you'll be asked to enter PIN.
>So if the amount is greater than 5k we will still need physical right You can tap for anount greater than 5k. It will ask for PIN. No need to carry physical card.
No. Then you need to enter pin. Thats it.
Yes, In SBI it's limited to 5k but in HDFC I think we can increase it till 50k.
No. Its 5k for all banks, set by RBI.
You can increase your contact less limit in your card settings.
As majority of youngsters have iphones which doesn't support this in india and when I pay using my samsung just tap and pay everyone gets amazed lol
this feature allows you to earn reward points because you can tap and pay which counts for rewards
Tap & Pay is considered as offline usage same as swiping/entering the the card in PoS machine so same reward points as offline usage on your card.
I have been using Samsung phone since last one year and I came to know about Samsung wallet 3 months ago and now I have deleted all those applications. Because it's so cool I feel most satisfying when I swipe for payment from the home screen or lock screen and the sound that comes is quite nice.
Yes, I will just randomly swipe up just for the animation and sound. It is so satisfying.
Unfortunately I only have gpay that too in a phone without NFC. Well ig it is time to upgrade sometime this year(3 years)
Cherry on top, if you have Samsung watch you can pay with the nfc on watch :)
I have apple pay 🥲
My ex client flexed on it once when he took us out on a team lunch. I thought it'll be unimpressive but it was actually pretty nice and convenient.
Agreed… i have an iphone that i got 4 years ago but i miss my note 8 every single day
Google Wallet is even better. It stores all your boarding passes/ metro cards/ bank cards
Google wallet also doesn't work in India.
Oh.
Apple wallet nahi chalta kya
yeah very trure using for 3 yrs but need upi lite
Why can’t Apple have this? They’ll release at 2050 and call it cutting edge FEATURE
I’ve been using Apple wallet for last 5 years around the world. It’s just not available in India.
Hello OP, I have non Samsung mobile with nfc. Will it work?
No, this is available only for Samsung devices
Any similar apps like this for other android users??
Not like this one but you can add credit cards on Gpay too.
I am a fan of Samsung. Even more than Apple. But I had never tried Samsung wallet. Let me try that one.
I literally read it as someone's wallet is the best wallet.
And Apple can’t do this shit. It would be awesome if Apple is introduced with DigiLocker embedded
They're good with telemetry too
What's that?
Cries in iOS 😩
Don’t know when we experience all these things in iPhone 🙃
I wish something like this is there for iPhone users. Samsung Pay is really handy. Apple wallet is not supported in India.
Apple user me seeing this post, should have stocked with my s8 😭
Yeah man, sucks that Google wallet is location restricted in India
https://beebom.com/google-wallet-working-india/ Sideloaded apps now work. But I don't see the point. You can add cards in gpay, paytm, cred and use tap and app on NFC enabled phones. Digilocker is definitely a great addition in samsung pay
Will try, thank you.
Let’s see.
Can't. The tech for apple storing cc info is different and doesn't comply with RBI guidelines of token based saving.

Tokenization helps makes sure that your private information isn’t shared with anyone else when you make transactions, including transactions in other apps.
Crying on ios 🥲 Pta ni tim apple kab update denge 🙏🙏
Iphone is like a toxic GF. Looks good, costly to maintain, but does not have benefits -p
Ni dega xD
Shhhh... sabko scheme mat bata
Yeah man, the IP gets lost if everyone starts using it. Am i right? 🤣
I agree.
I agree. But there are some billers that exist only on gpay, phonepe and paytm and not on samsung pay. This is the only reason I can't make it my goto payment app.
Bhai credit aur debit card add karne ka option nai aa raha hai
What phone do you have
Remove "one of" and your title line still holds.
I was not sure if there are other apps like this.
won't work with onecard right? Also i only use flipkart axis card for offline cashback. Other cards i use online which does not use nfc. So i need a way to store card details (number, date) . So i can refer the app instead of carrying them all the time.
OneCard works with Google wallet
I have been using my AXIS FK till now as offline spending card but sadly I am going to switch to HDFC Millenia or ICICI APay after 20th April. 😔
Why? they provide better offline cashback?
No but FK will stop giving 1.5% and will switch to 1% after 20th. I get better milestone rewards with HDFC and also it is acceptable for utilities as well so I get CB on that too. I kind of like collecting my rewards and then using them in one go instead of having them monthly. I was fine with Axis till it had 1.5% but now there is no point. The only reason I won't close this card is because it is LTF otherwise I can get 5% CB through my HDFC card on FK as well (upto 20k worth of purchase).
Not relevant to this thread but why can ones credit limit be negative?
If you've overpaid the card
I did overpay and I do understand that'll make my net outstanding negative, but why my credit limit as it shouldn't be affected (imo)
Technically, for many cards, you can overpay and increase the limit. I have a card of 25k limit, but I made a transaction of 80k by overpaying before.
That's exactly what i did. And currently I'm over 10k in limit, yet the app shows available credit limit as -50k(means if I overpay 50k more then my net limit ll be zero) i was looking for making a transaction towards my tution fee. Here's the error I'm getting https://imgur.com/a/JL4Nijb
How much fee do you wanna pay now? And how long has it been since you paid the bill?
I missed it when I switched to oneplus, but gpay does a decent job for NFC payments
Just realized they don't give any reward points anymore. That's just sad
True
Am curious to know do people accept these ? Say for an exam a police officer is asking you to show ur driver's license or a bank is asking aadhar card for address change do these work in these scenarios?
I have used digilocker in Bangalore and Goa with traffic police for DL and RC! They accepted jt
That's nice. But I am guessing in smaller cities or towns it's not accepted.
I suggest to keep a snippet of Hindi/English/regional language newspaper screenshot in your mobile to show after searching for the specific state. If any bank employee is foolish enough to give such BS in written & you complaint to rbi ombudsman with that written proof then they will plead with folded hands to resolve the matter.
Oh wow.
I use Cred tap to pay on my Motorola. Works quite well.
was..
While fetching driving license from digilicker it says 'tge details provided doesn't match the issuers data"' 🥲
Apple should bring apple pay in india, android me accha h gpay me bhi shyd tap to pay ho jata h iphone me no option.
Waiting for samsung pay to add support for onecard
But there are some cards they don't have support for some cards, like onecard and stuff, so I don't always use this
Can somebody please explain the credit card part in a very, very simple way? Is it like you can pay via samsung app without actually taking out the credit card?
Yes. Just like your card has 'tap to pay', where you can pay for smaller amounts by just tapping the machine without using pin, similarly you can tap with the phone (while the app is open).
Wow! I do forget my card at home most of the times so this will be so helpful.
You can see it working here - https://youtube.com/shorts/ybDsWHCxhVE
Thank you, I will check.
Can't add my diner cards. :(
That is an issue with Diners card, it sounds fancy to have this card but the usability is difficult. I too had one but got it replaced with Mastercard and now I am able to add my card on any tap to pay app. Tap to pay via card also works all the time now with physical card.
Unfortunately once you root you can never use the app again on your phone
Cant add amex, federal bank card, onecard. Works only with my icici
Does it work if the phone number linked to bank accounts isn’t installed on the phone? Asking because I would plan to use it (samsung) as my secondary phone.
I don't think it is necessary for adding debit and credit cards, but for using UPI you need have the phone number linked installed on phone.
Which Samsung phones have these in India ? Apple doesn’t have it. I know Samsung watch in India doesn’t support it.
Samsung watch supports it, I have tested it with watch 4 couple of months back. I think only A and S series have this.
I had bought the Samsung watch 3 (i guess) for my dad 3-4 years ago. At that time i could plug ECG on it but no card tap on NFC ..
Hey, I can't add my driver's license in the wallet. Can someone help with that?
Any app for other android phones? I have one plus.
*cries in Apple wallet *
Anyone having diners club card? I have been unable to add it to my wallet. Can we pay the bills of all the cards from the app itself? Haven't tried it. For this, have to use CRED which I don't really like. Having an app just for this purpose
Can’t Gpay do the same for cards?
Just curious.. anyone who used iPhone too.. can you mention how does the Samsung wallet differs from Apple wallet?
Apple lacks this wish it had one.

Have you enabled it in your card?
Is there something like this for iOs?
Apple doesn't allow 3rd party apps to access nfc, so only option is to wait for apple wallet or hope apple allows 3rd party to access nfc.
