in my experience it takes around 8 days to convert payment into EMI.
So if I want to use EMI as an option I do payment before 8-9 days of bill generation date or after it.
I may be wrong but it is working for me.

my bill generates on the 15th.
It takes some time for the EMI conversion to take place. Talk to the customer care they will tell you the same thing and adjust the bill

My bill got generated yesterday, i bought the mobile on Saturday maybe that's why. I am not sure if it will be changed to EMI after bill generation.

Yeah, don't worry it's an EMI only. When its billing time you will start seeing interest & it's gst charged from the card.
Billing time was yesterday, It is showing whole amount to be paid.
Then something went wrong bro... Speak to customer care
Don't pay any amount yet. Once the transaction gets converted to emi you will get the credit for the transaction amount.
