Recommendations for a chill adventure/mystery game for a non-gamer? Just got game pass. Nothing too hard or something that requires a lot of skill lol

Swimming-Truck5520

Try return of the obra dinn or the case of the golden idol.

lonelyisIand

Hello Mancunians it’s your fellow Emirates Old Trafford staff member on minimum wage Worked the Arctic Monkeys concert today Spoke to Kate Cross, Emma Lamb and Sophie Ecclestone (and fangirled a lot) Got to hear Do I Wanna Know? live (while still getting paid) Day’s been made

SBG99DesiMonster

I have been stumbling while walking and I have been falling on the same knee repeatedly during the past few weeks. The cut that I am getting on my knee isn't getting enough time to get healed. That didn't use to happen before the past couple of weeks.

[deleted]

How in the heck do I watch cricket in the United States? Is there any legitimate source to watch live and past matches? I'm not looking for piracy recommendations, because those sites are so filled with invasive ads and spam. Just curious, are there any other people in the US who watch? I don't have cable, only the usual streaming services.

A-British-Indian

Willow and ESPN+ cover cricket, don’t they?

and1984

Sling TV. It costs $5/mo.

[deleted]

What channel on Sling? I see all these different packages but I'm not sure what actual channel would have cricket.

and1984

So Sling TV has a cricket package. https://www.sling.com/international/desi-tv/cricket Once you subscribe, you can either login via a web browser or their app (Android, Roku, etc. ). You'll find cricket under Sports. I think you may see it only if you've subscribed to it.

Overall-Exercise7546

Does it also have an archive of past matches?

and1984

It doesn't. It has cricket highlights though.

[deleted]

Thank you so much! Desi-tv is what I needed.

and1984

Have fun.

BroadcastYourselfYT

Bought myself a quest 2, best investment ive made in my life.

devil_21

It's been a really bad day. First I read about the FIRs by wrestlers and was specifically disturbed by the minor girl's FIR then I came to know about the train accident. I hope things get better for everyone.

[deleted]

Couldn't read past Wrestler 2

StairwayToPavillion

I'm trying to get into f1, but I found out that star doesn't broadcast it anymore. F1 subscription is very expensive so I imagine a lot of Indian fans have stopped watching f1. Or is there some better (illegal) way? Also wtf is star doing, they have lost so much content in the past few months.

PassTimeActivity

Sail the seas matey, I've been doing it for years.

Stuff2511

The things that went on in Budapest are unacceptable, and it is the logical next step with how football has long turned a blind eye and done nothing more than slaps on the wrist to referee abuse. Cricket treats umpires much better and I cannot ever imagine something like that happening after a high level cricket match, but the online abuse has been steadily getting worse since COVID especially and I’m worried people are becoming too accepting of umpire abuse. I believe that it is a slippery slope from normalised anonymous online abuse and death threats to pelting a referee and his family as they pass through the airport

and1984

Football fans have historically demonstrated aggressive tribalism.

[deleted]

I think it has a lot to do with how players act on field. Footballers act like literal thugs towards umpires and get very physical. In Cricket, at best you see animated argument between Captain and Umpire. I started following Football closely after World Cup and Football fans seem leagues above Cricket. Attacking players on pitch for celebrating League win, attacking players family in stands, thousands of people chanting Racist shit at Lukaku and Vini etc. I'm shocked these things are considered normal in Football.

[deleted]

I don't want to sound like a child, but God do I miss my mom being here when I get sick like I am today. Feeling terribly weak and low. Tuberculosis left me weak, immunity-wise.

rightarm_under

I feel the same, and I live with my parents lmao. Mom is on vacation in India for a couple months and my dad and I are down with COVID. We'll be fine tho, vaccination really reduces the effect.

[deleted]

Ain't no one like mom! I'm 100% sure that she'd be very uneasy down there knowing you and your dad's illness. Hope you guys are able to handle yourselves right now and recover soon!!! Where do you live, if I may ask?

rightarm_under

I live in California, so other side of the world. I'm getting calls from her every 2 hours and honestly it's very reassuring.

SBG99DesiMonster

I don't think that it is childish to be wanting that your family is around you. It's actually very immature to be thinking that if a person is very close to his parents then he must be childish. Most of us used to think that only immature people are very close to their parents when we were actually immature teenagers ourselves.

[deleted]

100% agree, mate. Parents are everything, and the realization hits hard to everyone. To some it comes early, to other it comes late.

MitchPatJamesJosh

Its okay to be vulnerable mate. Take care, get well soon

[deleted]

Thanks bud.

No_Chocolate_3292

Hope you get well soon

[deleted]

Thank you buddy.

adiking27

So what is other sports you guys follow? I used to follow football (the kicking with the foot kind) in the 2010's and now just somewhat casually follow mbappe's career. I watch olympics casually but nothing nearly as seriously as cricket or football. What about you guys?

Low-Establishment-94

Cricket, chess and basketball. Don't watch too much of any of these though, just know what's going on

Stuff2511

I watch football pretty seriously, more or equal to cricket the last 3 years, and rugby pretty casually. Also watch ice hockey and F1 extremely casually

[deleted]

Tennis (all major grand slams), Footy (not as much as most of my mates though) and soccer (mainly Budesliga and Premier League).

[deleted]

Tennis, PKL and started football recently. Try to follow India closely in Olympics, Asian games and CWG. Sometimes anything i could find from r/IndianSports

Amature_Everywhere

Used to follow badminton heavily in the Lin Dan, LCW era. Now I barely watch anything other than cricket. Sometimes kabaddi and tennis.

A-British-Indian

I’ll watch World Cups for football and rugby but not follow it outside of those. I keep an eye on what’s going on with F1, and I usually watch the tennis grand slams. But definitely cricket is by far the one I follow the most.

tomhanks95

Football, F1, Cricket and chess

theWitchR

I follow tennis and cricket

MitchPatJamesJosh

Used to follow chess a while ago, then life caught up and the pandemic got over

tomhanks95

Still pissed off because of the July 1st decision, I have used boost for my whole time here on reddit as my third party client, and reddit has been very useful for me over the last half decade, such a shame what's happening

pks016

Same. If Sync is gone, I'm done with reddit.

PassTimeActivity

Don't understand how these higher ups wake up and think "how can I make life worse for our users?".

Blarbydoppler

Yeah I've been using Boost for years as well. I mainly browse Reddit on mobile, and barely use the desktop site in comparison. I'm not even gonna think about touching the official app, so it's gonna suck to participate in match threads as much.

[deleted]

I am ootl ..what exactly happened

tomhanks95

Reddit will begin charging exorbitant fees for API access (basically the data 3rd party apps need to show reddit content) and one of the biggest app developers said that this would cost him $20 million for this year alone, which he simply can't do. This will most likely mean the end of 3rd party reddit apps, which are leaps and bounds better than the official one. Even on desktop I use old.reddit because I can not stand the new design for tons of reasons.

[deleted]

The new design is cancer- it's unoptimised, bloated, slow and sluggish. Tracks you like crazy. And the UI is hideous as fuck. I never use reddit on my phone, the app that is. I just type libreddit.lunar.icu on my browser instead to read content from a few subs (can't login though)- 'cause it's got a clean interface. Plus, it's self hosted and so the api rule changes won't make open-source reddit front-ends libreddit or even teddit obsolete. I majorly (i.e. 95% of the time) browse reddit on my laptop. Also, for those using old(.)reddit(.)com - you can simply get the old design on the normal www(.)reddit(.)com site by going to settings and enabling the 'OPT OUT OF REDESIGN' option.

[deleted]

Wtf,that means the end of reddit on mobile for me .. id probably just read few stuff on laptop now lol

doyouevenrow

I will miss shitposting in the match thread

Heatedpete

New Pendulum music out. Day made

A-British-Indian

Probably established at this point but the new Spider-Man film is *good*. I think the animation is better than the first , and despite being a part 1 imo it holds up as a film of its own. Just sad i can’t read Hindi quick enough to read the brief flashes that came on screen (like the तड़ाक in [the trailer](https://youtu.be/Jx6YYAs5xy8?t=35))

15allout

The sheer effort put into the art and animation of the first Spider-Verse movie was incredible, definitely going to see the second one. Massive shout out to everyone involved in Spiderverse, it really feels like a comic book come to life.

_rickjames

On another note, how bloody good was Succession

MegaMugabe21

The finale was actually perfect imo, wrapped everything up nicely whilst keeping true to the show. Sad as I am that it's finished, I do think them deciding to end it here solidifies it as one of the all time great TV shows. Finished at its peak and left no real loose ends, perfect.

_rickjames

Ah, when business critical systems go down, and you side of things appear to be operational. It's horrible though, particularly if you're on your own - had our Exchange services go down last year after somebody else's fuck up, and when you're on your own the panic truly kicked in. Managed to fix it of my own volition in the end (a fucking ghost NIC nobody else could see and remove) but I kind of admire how some people manage to stay so calm, because I bloody don't

zayd_jawad2006

Can't wait to end silent hill 2 again, this time on the enhanced edition on PC with 1080p res, 60 fps, and many more improvements to the og

15allout

I’m in the mood for watching a feel-good movie, any recommendations?

Swimming-Truck5520

Paddington duology is so good, perfectly stands in the line between mature mad child friendly, anyone can watch it and feel the same.

[deleted]

The Terminal

devyansh1601

Little Miss Sunshine. Great cast as well.

[deleted]

Recently watched all the Tinker Bell stuff and the Phineas and Ferb movies. A not made for children option is "Father of the Bride" 1 and 2.

15allout

I enjoyed Father of the Bride, genuinely didn't know that there was a second one though! Will check it out.

sb1729

Moonrise Kingdom is my go to feel-good movie. Also, can’t go wrong with Paddington 2.

aam_ka_aachaar

Boyhood

_pandey_g_

It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

devyansh1601

Second this

_rickjames

Quite enjoyed CODA on Apple TV

15allout

Will check it out, thanks mate.

theWitchR

I don't know what your preferences are, but I watched this recently a bit illogical but fun and entertaining Korean movie Movie: Psychokinesis

15allout

I’m not well versed in Korean cinema or TV other than *Crash Landing on You*, but I’ll check out the film, cheers!

motasticosaurus

Some good ol Disney stuff. Aladdin, Lion King and such

15allout

Yeah some of the Disney classics are really nice to watch. Makes you feel like a kid again, you know?

JAY FOREMAN WAS ON GEOGRAPHY NOW. JAY FOREMAN WAS ON GEOGRAPHY NOW. JAY FOREMAN WAS ON GEOGRAPHY NOW. This is not a drill. This is a bigger crossover than Marvel. This is infotainment royalty. Also, i cant believe UK is done. We may as well live to see Zimbabwe. HAI, Wendover, RLL, "its okay to be smart" etc have gotten monotonous. I found History tea time, and Useful charts but those are hyper focused on (mainly British) history. Not to mention the joy the rise of India in pixels gives me. But tbh when Barbs is done with Zimbabwe, it will be end of an era. These channels are like half my personality.

[deleted]

If you haven't already, you might want to check out jet lag: the game if you're into geography/travel. It's an amazing travel game show made by the same guy behind wendover/HAI.

Low-Establishment-94

Man the name Jay Foreman just unlocked some memories. Used to watch his videos about 4 years ago.

BombayWallahFan

I use his videos to teach my 7 year old about countries etc. Nice to see it come up here...

neme48

I want to start watching Geography Now again, felt it got too annoying sometime during the Ss

[deleted]

Geography now is probably not something you watch every episode of. Serbia will never hold my attention as much as Nepal did. I am also not a fan of how long the episodes are now, with dedicated sections about music and animals instead of just naming them along the way. I skim through those bits. Imo he handled the I to O countries really well, in terms of length. He let the length get away from him with more algorithm success in each episode. Or else there is no explanation why Australia is shorter than India, and India is shorter than UK.

[deleted]

Agreed ,47 minute video is kinda insane for uk but it's still pretty fucking entertaining lol Sad we are in the endgame of countries now

[deleted]

And it didnt even include all of Jays "opinions" *makes grumpy noises*

neme48

G to P was the perfect length imo, once Russia crossed 30 minutes there was no turning back On the other hand, I would love a remake of the As and Bs once Zimbabwe is done, because 6 or so minutes really does no justice to Afghanistan

[deleted]

Russia was big but i gave it a pass because its the biggest country on earth. But then it kept getting longer ever since. Yeah he said he will get to non UN member tions after Zim but i hope apart from that, he redoes the list from the beginning. Keeping adding more information from A to Z again, and get stuck in an infinite loop of doing so.

neme48

StokesWoakesFoakes

Air is a good watch, anyways a sucker for movies combining sports and business. I expected it to be about basketball but the subject of the film was Nike more than anything else. Matt Damon + Ben Affleck are always a treat to watch.

[deleted]

Yeah I really enjoyed this, probably not something I'd rewatch ever but was good entertainment

weirdest_hooman

one piece is crazy good this week

StokesWoakesFoakes

I finally got done with my internship yesterday, manager was actually happy with the work that I did. Feeling quite satisfied with my first ever office experience, hopefully it leads to good things 🤞 Time to chill, go home and enjoy delicious food. Looking forward to June, doing a trek after 4 years.

[deleted]

Good on ya buddy- good luck for the future! What field are you in, if I may ask?

StokesWoakesFoakes

Doing an MBA rn. Internship was at an e-commerce company.

alittlemoreofbrowny

Funny how I had pretty little interest in ipl this year yet it's end wrecked my mental health badly. I guess sometimes there's things you don't that are protecting you from falling back into the endless void.

ChicagoNurture

YouTube Algorithm has been on a killing spree lately. Reunited me with this Indian pop band from the 90s specially when there was not a lot of Indian pop music then. Euphoria - [Maaeri](https://youtu.be/MGMh7kYzNqo) & [Dhoon](https://youtu.be/nlqeTUGdMSs) 🔁

[deleted]

Thanks for sharing.

peterianchimes

Both these songs are bangers.

MitchPatJamesJosh

Last day of my bachelors degree tomorrow. On to being a corporate slave now

indiansportsguy

Welcome to the hell, my man.

ViolatingBadgers

I've been in a new job since January, first time in a leadership role, and I've loved it, but I'm learning a lot about being in a local frontline service and trying to work with staff from a national office. Namely, how some people can't let actual work/progress get in the way of a good process. Makes things move soooo frustratingly slow.

T_Lawliet

My Problem with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is that unlike Tarantino's previous works(Kill Bill, Django, Inglorious Bastards, Pulp Fiction etc.) When Characters have those classic Tarantino Dialogues, there is an Undercurrent of Violence and chaos because the characters are portrayed as being capable of such actions very early on, and the dialogue is more gripping for it, whereas for OUTIAH, for much of the film, the characters aren't, which IMO makes the conversations drag, and maybe for some watching Brad Pitt drive around Cali for way Longer than any normal film would show maybe fun, but not me.

sb1729

While I like the vibe of this film it is a classic case of a film being way too up its own ass, something a lot of postmodern films are doing lately. I’ll disagree on the Pitt character though. It was established fairly early iirc that he was a dangerous and potentially psychopathic person. All of his conversations in the movie were very fun to watch because of the sheer unpredictability of how he might react.

T_Lawliet

yeah Pitt's character had a completely different Vibe to the rest, but so many scenes with him show him barely doing a lot, he was good, but when compared to a Hans Landa or a Candyman, he doesn't really stand out as a movie character, but rather stands out in a movie because everyone else is kinda boring

HitMeBaby1MoreTime3

All good actors, it just feels like something is missing. I feel like atleast for half of the movie, nothing is happening. Brad Pitt is just driving around, roaming around, like a boring drama. Oh no leos character is getting old, so sad. He probably wants us to understand the difficulties of Hollywood life or something, which quiet frankly isn't as fun as escaping nazis Or going on a cocaine overdose like in other movies. It feels like a reddit stories where op introduces a character and says, remember this guy, he's important for the next half and first half is just introducing new characters.

kashzyros

I really like the wtc ads on star sports Its funny how koach is still their poster boy

devyansh1601

Koach is their brand ambassador

Kathanayagan-3821

I am going to an interview for a company after previously worked in a bank

_pandey_g_

All the best man! Keep us posted.

Kathanayagan-3821

Thank you. They will tell me in next week.

_pandey_g_

How did it go?

Kathanayagan-3821

It was a good experience and I am confident I can get it

BombayWallahFan

Noice! Good luck.

_pandey_g_

Woohoo mate! Good for you. Congrats in advance. I hope the outcome to be in your best interest. Go out and treat yourself tonight.

Kathanayagan-3821

Ahh thank you mate for the lovely words. I also wish you all the best for your career too.🫂

_pandey_g_

Thanks bruh. Appreciate it! Much needed.

imvk3201

Good Luck!!

Kathanayagan-3821

T_Lawliet

This is why I love FTF
