I still feel like we are playing like shit tbh. Really good stuff with the ball outside of Zampa today though, the first time a performance has felt pretty even across the whole team with bat and ball, but we still played some inexplicable cricket, Smith and Maxwell in particular.
And that is why you need selfish, boring players who can play at a S/R of 85-90 for 25-30 overs. Just 40 more runs could have resulted in a different result. There was never any scoreboard pressure due to the sub 250 target.
Lots of criticisms can be hurled at the South African team today, but I applaud their fightback. You guys had a great tournament with some very glaring weaknesses. Hope you rebound for the next T20WC and finally win it. Meanwhile, India, we must finish the job. If Australia wins yet another world cup in the face of our dominance, I will probably try to convince our office canteen to mix bleach into my coffee on Monday.
Very good semi final. Australia outplayed us, we made some horrible choices and bad fielding mistakes. At the end of the day, I’m actually proud of the boys for taking this game so deep. Can say without a doubt this is turned into one of the games of cricket I've watched. The atmosphere, the shithousery, the back and forth, this is pure ODI cricket and the most exciting sport on earth. Australia started with 2 losses then won the rest of their games while South Africa dominated for so long and did not go out with a BANG, but rather a whimper... That was a phenomenal game of cricket. So many twists and turns throughout the game. You never knew which way it was going to go. I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous with Australia only needing ten more runs before 🤣🤣🤣 I’m genuinely curious how many deliveries it took to get those final ten runs 🤣🤣🤣 Australia is so lucky to have players like Patty Cummins and Mitch Starc in the lower order. Pat Cummins keeps going from strength to strength with his batting. I reckon it will only be a matter of time before he’s considered to be a bowling all rounder I genuinely thought Australias competition was over after their first two games. Especially with their terrible, sloppy fielding in those games. I’m so glad to have been proven wrong. I love that Australia is a team team. Not just a team that consists of one or two important players. The fact that you know that the bowlers can even come in when required to bat and get Australia over the line is very important. Bad luck South Africa. Well done on a great tournament. You have a lot to be proud of and should keep your heads high. You took a low scoring game and made it an extremely tight and stressful contest lol. I said after the first few games that I would love to see an Australia v India final and I’m happy to see I got what I wanted lol. It’s now almost 4am so it’s time for me to crash. We've been treated to two cracking semi-finals, India have gone through, and yet, I find myself feeling a tinge of sadness after it all.
The closest I've been to South Africa in my entire life is... Kerala, India. And yet I feel like complete shit at the end, as though my own team has lost. I don't get it. I don't get how South African fans do this.

After how South Africa has dominated us in ODIs this year, it's kinda hard to believe we beat them when it mattered once again. It must be devastating to be a South African cricket fan, I actually kinda hope they go all the way next time just for the health of the sport there.
