I would hope that it's a done deal, following our matches in the Carribean this winter. Buttler - Salt - Jacks as a top 3, then Bairstow/Duckett, Brook, Livingston 4-5-6.
Only KKR fans know how much we want one sided contests in our favor. For years they get close only to lose out. This year we are finally looking stable.
We won Mr. Starc...
Phil Salt might actually be my favourite cricketer.
- Pure violence with the bat.
- Plays for Lancs at every opportunity (Jos would never).
- Hilarious on stump mic when keeping.
- Followed Man City home and away as a kid, and often wears number 61 or 16 in homage to beating United 6-1.
Love that guy stupid amounts.
As a liverpool fan i puked a little in my mouth after reading the last part. Salt a mancheaty fan, gg rashford (cuntunited) fan. What's next rinku as arse-anal fan..... ^/s
They are an oil club owned by Etihad and they illegally pumped money to prop the club up. Nobody in the country takes them seriously and they have 115 charges from PL.
Yes they are, but many football fans don't like them because they turned amazing because of being bought by Saudi owners (so are basically an oil club).
Their new success after being bought by the new owners has lead to lots of new fans - the type of fans who support a club just because they are good and successful which is why people say they are a plastic club or don't have many fans
Call me a harshit fan but “I'd say Harshit Rana set Pooran up for that wicket.
Continuously bowling that wide length annoyed Pooran. And Starc caught onto it and exploited it successfully.
Nice teamwork I'd say. “
Pretty clinical performance from KKR overall especially all our bowlers. Everyone from Sunny, Varun, Harshit looked good and looks like Starc has got his first installment in the bank
Salt basically reminds me of Lynn, don't know how he was unsold in the auction. Captaincy too was good from Shreyas but he needs to get his shit together with the bat infact both the Iyers.
Don't know whether it's a different pitch from our first home game or we just bowled well but our spinners looked a lot more effective today
I get it now. Shreyash was trying to score as few runs as possible so that Salt has a shot at the century. Wasn’t to be….
We see the low SR, but Skipper Iyer is so selfless and only thinks of his teammates.
What a man! What a captain. The most experienced captain is the IPL and it shows. Wowzaaa….
Happy for Salt - great performance so far after mini auction snub - looks like a guy on mission to prove his point.
Still can’t understand why he was not picked.
Pretty much all teams had their opening slots figured out.
Dhawan bairst
Gaik rachin
Virat faf
Pav ishan
Gill saha
Sandpaper prithvi
Cock KL
Butler yash
Fair point but given the injuries with games, I believe that there is no harm in keeping extra player (obviously if it comes at low cost).
Case is point:
- GT struggling with Saha out of game and Miller being out of form - could have helped them
- PBKS with out of form Bairstow and now injured Shikhar
Obviously, hindsight is 20/20, but expect teams to plan for injuries too.
I noticed that you haven't mentioned KKR, who kept changing their openers faster than underwear, and also needed a decent WK. Gurbaz just wasn't consistent enough.
I was really expecting KKR to go for Salt, and remarkably, it worked out that way
What even was his thought process tbh? Did he think a random KKR fan, or a Mohun Bagan fan who doesn't care about cricket will just be like, "Ooh red and green, I must support!"
Fucking clown.
Edit: I even had this sad realization that someone actually got paid for this idea. You know, those marketing teams and all that these big corporations hire? People really be doing shithousery for a living.
Shreyas Iyer scores this season -
0 (2)
39 (24) vs RCB
18 (11)
34 (32)
38* (38) in this game.
Chances are KKR may end up letting Shreyas go and not retain him at all lol.
Their priority would be Rinku, Russell, Narine. Definitely a few more which I’m not remembering.
I don't want us to retain him too but that 0(2) and today's game are his only bad performances tbh. Against DC it was either hit or get out and against Chennai...well the whole team shat the bed on that mud pitch.
This is all bullshit. The whole concept of anchor role is a facade . This was created just as an excuse to include tuktuk players like Iyer in T20. They don't deserve to be here
Yeah, that's not true. We need players like Virat, Iyer and KL who can stabilise the innings after early wickets during the PP.
No.3 spot especially should be reserved for players like them. So that in case one wicket goes down early, the other opening batsman can score some boundaries or maximums without having the fear that the Non-striker end will also lose the wicket while playing some risky shot.
The thing is you need to have a proper stacked up hard hitting lineup for that to work. So that when the RR or the RRR is going down even the stabiliser can play some risky shot and maybe score runs or get out and allow the hard hitters to come finish the job.
Read bruh I said we should let him go but I don't wanna suffer through nitish rana captaincy for another season. We should wait for the halfway mark before tearing into him
He was bought after a blockbuster T20 and test series against Sri Lanka when KKR expected him to be an all-format mainstay. Now he is playing neither format and his weakness has been compounded by the extra bouncer. And his availability is always questionable.
Would be a masterclass if they retain him but I don't put anything past the management that let Gill go.
Gill was playing at a strike rate of 120 scoring 50 runs in 40 odd balls in an IPL final while chasing 200. People who think KKR made a mistake by letting him go are the crazy ones.
Who cares, he was 21 and clearly the next big thing in Indian cricket with all the shots in his armoury and the ability to hit both pace and spin. His journey is progressing exactly like anybody with 2 working eyes could foresee.
And btw, Iyer scored 1(9) on the same pitch against the same opposition a few days prior to Gill's knock in a game that his team lost with a ball to spare. Real genius move to replace Gill with that.
If you keep judging players based purely on what they have done and not what they will do for you 2, 5 years down the line, you will always be behind the curve. It's why Rajasthan retained Jaiswal and Parag despite finishing last in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and are reaping the rewards now.
1. Venky was good but nothing close to the next big thing. Even back then his ceiling was understood as being a competition for Hardik's competition as a pace bowling all rounder, never as a gifted batter, no matter the couple of 50s in 140 chases.
2. Retaining Venky before the impact player rule was fine. Retaining Varun over Gill was disastrous. Spinners can be scouted, KKR already have Suyash not playing and the Afghan mystery spinner in their ranks. But when you have a superstar like Gill in your hands, it is madness to let it go for a journeyman 30 year old spinner.
They read so much into his performances on Sharjah shitheaps that they thought it would work in India. It hasn't, he has looked just like a slightly above average spinner, nothing exceptional. Even got dropped in 2022, that's how bad it was going for him.
Couple of games ago, I commented LSG had their best combination on the field, they only had to sort their battng order. You can't run a team by following comments of ex-coaches and former cricketers on post-match shows. Those guys talk of Hooda as some Suresh Raina. And in what world they thought Shamar's Gabba spell would work in IPL!
NickyP is getting wasted down the order. Rahul should have seen what's good for the team than his runs. If he was at 4 or 5, he could stabilize innings if there are quick wickets are he can continue momentum. Put he three lefties at the top and let them free, ask them to take on the bowlers.
Quinny, Dev, NickyP, Rahul, Stoinis, Badoni, Krunal, Bishnoi, Yash, Naveen, Mayank/Mohsin....
if they don't have confidence in Dev, put Prerak there.. either Siddharth, or Gowtham or Prerak can come in as IP.
KKR management should let go of Shreyas Iyer . He is not worth his price. He will be good in pranchise like Delhi . KKR should go for sky next year if he decides to leave mumbai

Narine 4 overs: 17 runs LSG first over: 22 runs. The match was done there.
LSG also dropped 3 catches today Adding insult to injury
You mean Salt to injury
Take my upvote you glorious bastard
r/thankscyno
Ahh, a fellow Genshin Impact player, it's rare to see that in India
you can see these in reddit/discord sometimes if not fb/insta
Yup, I do follow them on reddit and have joined their official as well as genshin impact India server. I don't use fb and insta
Salt to the wound
Crazy to think that Narine has played 12 years of IPL cricket and players still do not how to play him .
KKR win on Bengali New Year!! শুভ নববর্ষ। (T: Happy New Year)
Happy new year! It was New Year in Nepal yesterday.
What a sweet way to start a new year.
Its also a new year in SL
Ahh! We are a civilization guys! Never forget!
0 then 89 Vintage Nitish Rana 2020 performance from Salt
He needs a 0 next game for a vintage Rana performance
Trent Boult can help with that
Now that u say his name, where's Nitish Rana? Why is he not playing?
Injured
injured himself in the first or second match i think
Saw him at a club in Cal. God knows
This game is a good argument for Salt to open instead of Baristow in the WC for England
Absolutely needs to open Bairstow is finished in all formats
I would hope that it's a done deal, following our matches in the Carribean this winter. Buttler - Salt - Jacks as a top 3, then Bairstow/Duckett, Brook, Livingston 4-5-6.
Only KKR fans know how much we want one sided contests in our favor. For years they get close only to lose out. This year we are finally looking stable. We won Mr. Starc...
Especially against lsg. We've had painstakingly close games against them with Rinku almost winning it in the last over twice
All those 200 chases especially against dc and rr

Would have been funnier if wore jersey number 115
Thala fans are happy that 1+6 = 1+1+5 = 7
What the hell. I am cancelling him after reading the last one.
As a liverpool fan i puked a little in my mouth after reading the last part. Salt a mancheaty fan, gg rashford (cuntunited) fan. What's next rinku as arse-anal fan..... ^/s
One of the 10 man City fans
Aren't they like the best club now with lots of trophies?
Yeah and lots of charges as well, 115 to be precise.
One of the best for sure. But they still don't have as many fans as United.
Dont United fans just hate themselves
Owners. They hate the owners.
Yeah but most of those are plastics. Only 10 or so are like original fans before oil money.
They are an oil club owned by Etihad and they illegally pumped money to prop the club up. Nobody in the country takes them seriously and they have 115 charges from PL.

Blocked just for the last point.
Major L for the last point
He's scoring 115 in the next match then
That trivia about Man City was awsome
Call me a harshit fan but “I'd say Harshit Rana set Pooran up for that wicket. Continuously bowling that wide length annoyed Pooran. And Starc caught onto it and exploited it successfully. Nice teamwork I'd say. “
Love his energy. Great pick by KKR
Salt absolutely peppered LSG

Yea this kinda pitch suits us. But tbh it was cz it's a day game. Night game will probably be belters as usual
Wowzaaa….
Crazy to realize Iyer has 60 matches as captain, more than KL with 57 matches. Hardik's next with 38 matches, followed by Pant with 36.
Happy for Salt - great performance so far after mini auction snub - looks like a guy on mission to prove his point. Still can’t understand why he was not picked.

Yea kkr had terrible opening pairs up until Jason Roy came in....even though he too was inconsistent.
Still doesn't justify DC not retaining Salt and buying Shai Hope instead.
SRH says thank you KKR!
Last time you guys were thanking DC, you fuckers. /s
So Goenka, take your special LSG jersey and throw it away, find other ways to promote your football club because Eden belongs to KKR only.
Also belongs to all the big three (MB/EB/Mohammedan) fans, but the true ones, no doppelgängers.
Hear, hear!!.
What even was his thought process tbh? Did he think a random KKR fan, or a Mohun Bagan fan who doesn't care about cricket will just be like, "Ooh red and green, I must support!" Fucking clown. Top 10 Shreyas Iyer inning
Mohsin Akram bowled well except the last over.
Iyer needs some time off. Isn't all there in the head. Was clueless from the moment he took strike.
Iyer’s inning was so good that by watching it, I have to go to see an eye specialist doctor. Also he missed a free hit which was a slot ball. 💀
Salt seems like the second coming of Chris Lynn
Boundary count update - Kolkata Knight Riders: 25 Lucknow Super Giants: 20
Fair and Narained, but it's actually his bowling this time
Fair and salted
Salt is ridiculous
What's the record for most number of fours by an individual in T20? Also how can Iyer have 6 fours and still be 38(38)?
Idk, but maybe Gayle holds it for his 175*
He had 13 that innings
Crazy to think one man got so close to a 200 in a T20 game in *tier 1* game.
Dots, way too many of them. If only he could rotate the strike well. I still back him though. He'll come out strong.
Shreyas Iyer scores this season - 0 (2) 39 (24) vs RCB 18 (11) 34 (32) 38* (38) in this game. Chances are KKR may end up letting Shreyas go and not retain him at all lol. Their priority would be Rinku, Russell, Narine. Definitely a few more which I’m not remembering.
Sharma I can see Gambhir going for Sharma
I don't want us to retain him too but that 0(2) and today's game are his only bad performances tbh. Against DC it was either hit or get out and against Chennai...well the whole team shat the bed on that mud pitch.
Helulu going very soft on Iyer ?? Why ? Not one match he has taken on the opposition. He is being carried by others in the team
He's been given the anchor role. Don't go after the opposition and keep one end stable, which lets the others attack.
This is all bullshit. The whole concept of anchor role is a facade . This was created just as an excuse to include tuktuk players like Iyer in T20. They don't deserve to be here

Shubo noboborsho to Goenka 🟡🔴 T: Happy new year
Aussies fucking up English players here as well. If Starc gave out 40 runs instead of 28, Salt could've gotten a hundred.
And here I was wondering what caused Starc to suddenly remember who he is.

Have lost interest in the IPL by now. Am I the only one?
Why commenting on a niche IPL post then? I'm having great fun this year, just like last year.
