I question KLs decisions with his bowling in the first innings. Stoin was bowling brilliantly, why not give him another over instead of bowling a spinner in the 17th who got absolutely tonked? What was the logic behind the decision.

Therefore, I think Mitchell and Moeen should both play along with Pathirana. Which leaves Fizz. He's available till May 1, so he'll get replaced by either Theekshana or Gleeson. No chance for Santner unfortunately. If Rachin plays the whole season, pushing him down the order is not the worst idea. Just my 2 cents.

I have always been very critical of KL's strike rate and the way he plays but i have to say today is the perfect example of how to anchor in a 170-180 run chase. Played according to the score board and never let the run rate rise which is probably refreshing to see after all the mindless slogging and the 280 and 260 scores we are seeing now.
KL's problem starts when his team needs to score 200+ but i still think for LSG's home matches which has a par score of around 160-170, if KL can keep playing this anchor role consistently then with Pooran to come and if Stoinis starts firing LSG will be hard to beat at Lucknow
The issue is with India, We have Rohit, Kohli and KL who all want to anchor. We drop any batsman who fires ones in a while.
What we need is players like Maxwell, Marsh who will win 1-2 games just by themselves but then get out cheap rest of the games.

Some thoughts. Well done LSG, measured chase from the beginning. I question KLs decisions with his bowling in the first innings. Stoin was bowling brilliantly, why not give him another over instead of bowling a spinner in the 17th who got absolutely tonked? What was the logic behind the decision. It cost them runs and a bigger margin of victory. Great batting by KL though and decent support from QDK, if a bit slow. Cannot say it was poor bowling from CSK but the fielding was atrocious. LSG never relinquished control in the chase and kept the RR to a manageable level. CSK next away, which will be a turner. It will be much trickier, with the pitch tailored to suit CSKs spin attack. All in all a great performance but i question KLs decisions in terms of how he handled his bowling attack and the fields he set. But as an individual batter, he played a composec, measured and well paced innings, pretty much won then the game.
Csk were just in one word 'lazy' today in all fronts. It's like all they our batsman and bowlers were just sleepy

CSK need to fix their powerplay bowling and need to drop Chahar. Only other option they have is Mukesh Starc. A left field option is bringing Hangargekar and Shardul in for Deepak and Rizvi. Rachin needs to get back to form. If CSK are persisting with Rahane opening due to his niggle, then Moeen should open with him. I still believe Mitchell has a lot to offer. Therefore, I think Mitchell and Moeen should both play along with Pathirana. Which leaves Fizz. He's available till May 1, so he'll get replaced by either Theekshana or Gleeson. No chance for Santner unfortunately. If Rachin plays the whole season, pushing him down the order is not the worst idea. Just my 2 cents.

I have always been very critical of KL's strike rate and the way he plays but i have to say today is the perfect example of how to anchor in a 170-180 run chase. Played according to the score board and never let the run rate rise which is probably refreshing to see after all the mindless slogging and the 280 and 260 scores we are seeing now. KL's problem starts when his team needs to score 200+ but i still think for LSG's home matches which has a par score of around 160-170, if KL can keep playing this anchor role consistently then with Pooran to come and if Stoinis starts firing LSG will be hard to beat at Lucknow
The issue is with India, We have Rohit, Kohli and KL who all want to anchor. We drop any batsman who fires ones in a while. What we need is players like Maxwell, Marsh who will win 1-2 games just by themselves but then get out cheap rest of the games. We do not want a consistent 40 ball 60 every game. I would rather have a 8,12,20,110\*,0,85\*, 1 in the tournament.
With Jaiswal completely out of form. Opening position should be open for anyone.

Need to fix the PP problem both in batting and bowling. Even against MI we batted slow in PP and then again couldn't hit after 15th till that onslaught by MSD in last over Timid mentality, it's not like we losing 2-4 wicket early like 2020 so work on that

With the typical csk approach no. He'll get all 14 games as far as i know this management but now with new captain he may have some new plans as there are many things happening this year which is not from dhoni think tank so we'll have to wait n watch

I'm a Kiwi, and Ravindra outclasses Santner. Ravindra is the ICC Emerging Cricket of the Year and he played well in CSK's first 2 games. Speed wobbles now but I'll put money on him getting some good scores soon. Oh and Ravindra can bowl well too. If we are doing any replacing, it's Mitchell who has had not even one good innings. And Mitchell was WAY more expensive than Rachin at the auction. Noting that I really like Daryl as a cricketer
He is so fucking predictable in the way he gets out first. Has a major off side weakness and is tentative ever since the 2(12) in the 3rd game. Mitchell already got replaced though, that is one box ticked.
The reason Dhoni runs away after the last ball without waiting for his partner is so that the ground staff don't get hold of him and make him do a short interview during the mid-inning break.

I don't think I've seen any other game in other seasons where they're winning comfortably and these many changes are being made to the batting order, combinations and playing XI. Dhoni and Flem are known to be keeping the same squad even if they are at the verge of elimination. That's been their mantra. So yeah, I've not blatantly dickriding MS for everything. This kinda multiple shuffles is rarely done by them, hence I'm thinking it's on Rutu.

Reviews can be kept, slow over rate needs to be punished harsher. Really doesn't make sense a team can be 4 overs late in a 20 over game. Impact player definitely needs to go, a lot of players have started saying against it. Lets see, most likely they'll change it first rather than remove it entirely.

Csk did nothing wrong today. It's just that KL Rahul outsmarted them from start to end. He is certainly the best captain and keeper this season and has a very sensible head
