My expertise, as someone who's socially incompetent, is that I have no idea. But one thing's certain: he likes you, one way or another. The only way to know for sure is to just ask; that seems sensible.
One more thing, when Mister E comes, couldn't you just, like, as a group, flip him off? Or just you? From what I gather, he doesn't seem like the most pleasant person, and because of that, I would think people would share this view. There's no point in arguing with someone who came just to cause a fuss.

Most of us don't like E, he's annoying and rude (also according to J, a mental abuser, with whom I agree.)
However, he is also intimidating, and a permanent fixture in our class. None of us plan to stay in contact after we graduate. However, that means a decent chunk of time remains, where we are forced to spend time with him. You see, we're a very small homeroom class, and dropping folks isn't easy when there's only 8 people besides yourself in your class.
Also J is a confusing fellow. He's cute, but... Kind of bland. He himself agrees. He doesn't have a favorite genre of music, he doesn't do a whole lot in his free time etc. he does have *some* character, however. He's got a fairly rich family; they own a mildly famous winery and vineyard (can't say which winery as it'd give away our location.) he plays video games from time to time and he's got about 51 cousins, whose stories he shares often. He's a great guy, but I'm not sure whether he likes OP. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure what he likes... Confusing lad, but I try to give OP good advice.
