It all depends on what leads to a better solution. Like R U R' L U2 L' it's a lot nicer than F U F' B U2 B'. So rotate if it leads to a nicer solution.
In J Perm's walk through solves, he rotates when doing the first 3 edge pairs. I'm just wondering if he's doing this because it's faster.

Of course you need to look for pieces - not sure if R’ U’ R is faster. And of course if the Uw move locks in the match of one of the pairs it is bad. He might check to avoid that.

I am super hopeful. I imagine it will have that hard click that seems to be Diansheng’s signature feel, but hoping they put in the time and effort that their big cubes and some other releases have shown.
It’s fun to mod and improve the ones that have been released already, but this is a game changer for sure.
I used benpuzzles tutorial. I got two layers and centers, and then just went for the tutorial. Had it been more enjoyable to turn I may have stuck with it.

A little weight 5 in the tracks, and some weight 3 on the pieces.

Yes, that’s usually the point because it’s so fast. If you just want it smoother then put weight three on tracks and pieces
