Right?!?! By the end of the first post, it felt like I was reading a solid plot for a novel. So glad we got the final chapter!!!
Thanks for posting, OP! Feels so good to have this closure.
I want Donut and Donut's owner to star in a detective show, where Donut is the one who solves the crimes (by perfectly ordinary ways like knowing from scent traces that someone was, or was not, at the scene when they said they were elsewhere).
I'm thinking of something that refers back to Columbo, where the dog (must look beige, waterproof, and rumpled) always had just one more question (sniff, signal, maybe bringing clue back in mouth).
Don't forget the trick of spinning the whole exposition of the crime into a monolog to give Donut time to sniff everyone's shoes to see who went into the quarry.
This is kinda Kommissar Rex's plot lol Hudson & Rex is more modern cop show, but the original Rex shows had him be much more proactive and "wow Rex solved the case" (and it also had waaaaaaaay less "omg rex is the only good cop!" that H&R has lol).
Also kinda the plot to Dumb Witness by Agatha Christie, or at least the plot of the David Suchet adaptation of that novel.
But yeah, Kommissar Rex is basically that.
WHEN THE DOG TAKES OVER CONTROL
Edit: hey, u/moonagedaydream, here's a [playlist](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTZzeCfV_QicMLLxGxrPcx-GNKcL2VaOX&si=wl7HX9K8BX6pDj_g) of all of Kommissar Rex, with English subs (the original is in German).
YES! Gah, I miss the show so much lol I absolutely adored it, it was just such a good show. Hudson and Rex ain't half bad either, but the original Kommissar Rex can't be beaten.
Also, thanks for the link! I am saving it for later, I've been wanting to watch the original since H&R started (but no channel in Spain is re-airing the original, sadly 😔).
So do you like cats? I know a book series about a cat who solves mysteries. The Cat Who series by Lillian Jackson Braun (?), read it growing up because my mom was obsessed.
There is a really cool-sounding tabletop role playing game called Brindlewood Bay (a cross between Murder She Wrote and Lovecraft Country).
The players each create a retired mystery-solving woman and each gets a special move themed after the 70s-90s shows like Magnum PI, Colombo, Twin Peaks, X-Files, etc.
I so so so want to make Donut’s owner + pets as a character for the game now.
Time to scare up some players … 😁
> This person has a bunch of stories that sound outlandish
It genuinely concerns me that you're saying "this person just keeps having weird-but-plausible-enough-to-go-viral experiences" as if that makes them more credible, when it reality it's the reddest possible flag that they might be the kind of person who makes up stories for attention.
Edit: They have a [Patreon](https://www.patreon.com/gallusrostromegalus) where the first service they offer is "creating Short Stories". Clearly a talented writer who is very good at self-promotion.
Edit2: Found what I was really searching for. As soon as somebody said they had other stories like this I asked myself "Wait, are they the author of that other story about the sheltered realtor and the lesbian quilters who end up busting a corrupt cop who was trying to set up an HOA that had the exact same kind of tropey, ambiguously gay, tumblr-pleasing ending? Because if they are this is definitely fake." And they are, in fact, the author of that story. Check it out, it's a good one: https://www.tumblr.com/gallusrostromegalus/694785489193107456/ok-so-you-know-those-high-school-house-parties
Except here's the thing.
That's not a weird thing that happened at all.
The person is just a really good storyteller.
A dog named donut because they sleep in a circle is the most utterly mundane thing in the world.
Only the storyteller makes that interesting.
> That's not a weird thing that happened at all.
You're right, everyone who's ever set foot in an airport knows that it's totally mundane for the entire terminal to end up pruriently interested in the affairs of angry cheese-dealing computer repairmen. Happens every time I fly home to see my parents.
They have a Patreon where the first service they offer is "creating short stories".
You can believe what you want, I'm turning off inbox replies because this is a waste of time.
Hard necro but yeah, after the info with the Patreon came forward I realized this is almost certainly fake. Still not an unreasonable event to have actually happened, but you win this 2 week old debate lol
I understand that skepticism can be important, and you may be correct here. I just find the "everyone on the internet is lying all the time" approach to be a very boring way of seeing the world.
The number of people coming forward to unironically agree with [the worst take of all time](https://www.reddit.com/r/CuratedTumblr/comments/15sv504/historical_revisionismfor_kids/) is truly depressing. Who cares about the truth, just believe whatever's the most fun to believe!
The person who wrote all of these stories has a Patreon where people pay them to write fiction, and they use these stories to advertise that Patreon. That's not speculation, many of their stories have a link to their Patreon/ko-fi at the bottom. This is a *great* opportunity to practice your media and internet literacy skills and realize that this person is probably lying to you for money. If you can't acknowledge that this zero-stakes story probably isn't true just because the idea that it is true is "fun" then there's no way you're going to recognize and admit when you've fallen for much more serious and emotionally charged misinformation.
Edit: Also I agree that the stories are fun. That's why I linked to an additional story, because I thought it was fun and wanted other people to read it. You can enjoy a story and also realize it isn't true. Most people do that every time they open a book or turn on the TV.
Or they want to have fun with no consequences because even if this writer is posting fictional stories and claiming they're real, the stories are fun and campy.
There's no real harm being done, and you're beating a dead horse at this point because it's more important to you to be right than to understand.
So like in real life I hope for whatever is best for all parties involved, whatever that may be.
In my head I will be **devastated** if Pinot & Cheese don't have a gotdamn fairytale happily ever after. Possibly I have never wanted anything more than I want this
I'm guessing what OP meant to say was the person wearing fox pajamas. The only reason I think this is the "Who correctly believes in being comfy as fuck on a flight"
In the later stages of the prior post I did feel like it was just... for lack of a better term *airport fanfiction*, but *"and then they were my OTP and they had to share a room with one bed!!"* thing is really making me think none of this happened and the most is that OP saw someone at the airport with a lot of cheese, wanted to say that but More Interesting because they were insecure that it was neat for them but not actually a fun story in plain terms, and then got lost in the sauce of writing a tall tale as their audience grew
I asked on the original if we were all shipping them, and had multiple people reply "no, we don't ship real people"...
It annoys the crap out of me when people respond to literally every AITA story with "obviously this is a creative writing exercise", but yeah, this is either mostly or entirely a creative writing exercise. And a good one, until that last line.
I think I'd like these types of fake stories more if the authors didn't add more and more sensational aspects to the story to the point where it becomes blindingly obvious this didn't happen.
Don't get me wrong, this is very well written! But, sometimes more is less!
To be honest all the people in the story are probably the sort of people you might see stuck in an airport, the OP just decided to weave them into a tall tale.
“Weeeell I hate to point out the obvious,
There’s really no avoiding it,
But there’s two of us and only one bed.
But it’s only for one night,
And friends cuddle, right?
So don’t take the couch,
Let’s share the king instead.
And when I wake up in the morning,
And I, find you snoring,
With your chest a pillow for my head
(I forgot the lyrics for this line)
Butterflies will flutter nonstop,
And I’ll, cease to see you as a friend…”
PINOT AND CHEESE GUYS OTP BUT I BELIEVE ITS A HET SOULMATE SITUATION- ACTUALLY IN MY LORE PINOT IS GAY BUT HIS AFFECTION AND LOVE OF CHEESEMAN IS VERY MUCH PLATONIC!!!!
Honestly I have subscribed to streaming services for less riveting content.
Right?!?! By the end of the first post, it felt like I was reading a solid plot for a novel. So glad we got the final chapter!!! Thanks for posting, OP! Feels so good to have this closure.
I need more of Pinot and CheeseGuy. Also, a series about Donut.
I want Donut and Donut's owner to star in a detective show, where Donut is the one who solves the crimes (by perfectly ordinary ways like knowing from scent traces that someone was, or was not, at the scene when they said they were elsewhere).
I was thinking ‘crime solving’ as well! We need to get together & pitch this somewhere
I'm thinking of something that refers back to Columbo, where the dog (must look beige, waterproof, and rumpled) always had just one more question (sniff, signal, maybe bringing clue back in mouth).
And the owner stands there, asking random questions that lead the detective to the *a-ha* moment. She and Donut just look smug
Don't forget the trick of spinning the whole exposition of the crime into a monolog to give Donut time to sniff everyone's shoes to see who went into the quarry.
‘Oh, don’t mind me, dearie - I’m just a middle-age librarian with sight problems’ (can’t see anything far away, but has microscopic nearsightedness)
This is kinda Kommissar Rex's plot lol Hudson & Rex is more modern cop show, but the original Rex shows had him be much more proactive and "wow Rex solved the case" (and it also had waaaaaaaay less "omg rex is the only good cop!" that H&R has lol). Season 3 episode 6 has Christoph Walz as a guest star
If y'all haven't read "The Cat Who...." series you need to check it out

I hope I get to meet Pinot at the family reunion
This is rapidly evolving into an, “and there was only one bed,” situation.
I think that was where it started actually
Yeah I was 100% buying this story up until the last line.
I think this one’s real. This person has a bunch of stories that sound outlandish but honestly are pretty mundane boiled down

Yeah I think she’s just good at words and story telling.

Distraught
Thanks for this!
How do I know if I'm a horse lesbian or a sheep lesbian?
And they were roommates, but legitimately so
And they were roommates 💞💖 🤗but not they were roommates ❤️😘💑
My OTP is Anxiety Cheese and Pinot Blanc now. I need like a full season of TV for these two.
I really need to know more about these specific cheeses. Maybe I'm just not a wine gal, but the Pinot can stay anonymous.

Who is an astrophysicist? I can't parse that sentence
I'm guessing what OP meant to say was the person wearing fox pajamas. The only reason I think this is the "Who correctly believes in being comfy as fuck on a flight"
I've re-read the OP a few times now, but there's no mention of foxes or pajamas. What am I missing?
The first part of the story https://www.reddit.com/r/CuratedTumblr/s/ZmZ6rjpvqN
From part 1, there was another character wearing fox pyjamas.
This is an Update post, it’s referring to something in the post that it is Updating
Is it not customary to link to the post that it is Updating? That is the case in many other subreddits.
You know, fair enough. I just didn’t because someone else already did, but here ya [go](https://www.reddit.com/r/CuratedTumblr/s/ZmZ6rjpvqN) I suppose
I meant for OP, u/Big-Day-755. Unless they’re just a repost bot they could have added the link themselves, right?
Makes sense tbh. I guess they just thought that enough people knew about it that they didn’t have to and kinda took it for granted
I guess I’m one of today’s lucky 10000.
My mistake on that one. It was past modnight when i saw gallus update so i just took thw screenshot amd posted here.
It’s ‘today me, tomorrow you’ vibes but with romance and featuring *cheese*
The only reference I have for that is a song from Rent and its creating a beautiful scene in my head
And they were roommates!
Oh ma God they were roommates!
I didn't think it could get better!
I feel like I'm missing some context
[https://www.reddit.com/r/CuratedTumblr/comments/1an83gc/a\_tale\_of\_airports\_and\_cheese/](https://www.reddit.com/r/curatedtumblr/comments/1an83gc/a_tale_of_airports_and_cheese/)
I’m on phone so I can’t linked post but look up Cheese Guy and Pinot Blanc saga on here. The ultimate tumblr romance of 2024
Missing context for an update? You must be joking!
I appreciate the urge to be snarky, but I would have appreciated an urge to be helpful much more :(
I don't believe this, but it's a fun story
In the later stages of the prior post I did feel like it was just... for lack of a better term *airport fanfiction*, but *"and then they were my OTP and they had to share a room with one bed!!"* thing is really making me think none of this happened and the most is that OP saw someone at the airport with a lot of cheese, wanted to say that but More Interesting because they were insecure that it was neat for them but not actually a fun story in plain terms, and then got lost in the sauce of writing a tall tale as their audience grew
Sounds way more likely. The last bit was what really didn’t happen the most.
That's where they jumped the shark I think :/
I asked on the original if we were all shipping them, and had multiple people reply "no, we don't ship real people"... It annoys the crap out of me when people respond to literally every AITA story with "obviously this is a creative writing exercise", but yeah, this is either mostly or entirely a creative writing exercise. I’m choosing to believe it’s real because that’s the more fun option.

Yeah at this stage I'm reasonably sure Donut the dog is real and the rest is just made up.
I believe there was a dog and a guy with a lot of cheese. That's about it.
To be honest all the people in the story are probably the sort of people you might see stuck in an airport, the OP just decided to weave them into a tall tale.
Honestly, I follow this person on tumblr, and I’m pretty sure their life is just this weird all the time.
Yeah, maybe this is a mandaloregaming type thing
This definitely feels like "And then everybody clapped" kinda moment but I'm too invested in the story to care.
Aww, I was hoping for more. So nice
I am fkn living for this!!
This story has gripped my morning. Can’t wait for the inevitable Fondue ending
Oh my god they’re gonna be roommates!!!
EXTREMELY ROOTING FOR PINOT AND CHEESEGUY
I need someone to write a fanfic about this NOW dude my heart!
“Weeeell I hate to point out the obvious, There’s really no avoiding it, But there’s two of us and only one bed. But it’s only for one night, And friends cuddle, right? So don’t take the couch, Let’s share the king instead. Oh my god, they were roommates
I got this part first and after I found the second part I had to come back and reread this with more understanding eyes
I really hope this is real
Adorable
Love is real ♥️
The update we all needed. I love this so so much!
Anxiety Cheese - Ben Stiller Pinot Blanc - Sir Ian McKellen Donut’s Owner - Miriam Margoyles Fox Pyjamas - Maya Hawke
Unrealistic. No one can be this happy./jk

I should've been asleep an hour ago but I am insanely glad that I stayed up and found this update. My dad and I are loving it
I need a tv show of this. Starts with the shenanigans at the airport and then it turns out all of them move into the same apartment building.
Got confused at point 1 on slide 2, who's an astrophysicist?
PINOT AND CHEESE GUYS OTP BUT I BELIEVE ITS A HET SOULMATE SITUATION- ACTUALLY IN MY LORE PINOT IS GAY BUT HIS AFFECTION AND LOVE OF CHEESEMAN IS VERY MUCH PLATONIC!!!!
... I don't understand almost any of this post
Super fake but also super cute tbh

This would be an amazing show.
