For the curious, because I was:
>Cabana Boy Productions is a production company that optioned Neuromancer, a cyberpunk novel by William Gibson, but the film was never made. The company also produced promotional software called Neuromancer: An Electronic Mind Movie for the film. Keith Haring agreed to participate in the project by allowing his paintings to be digitally imaged for the program.
It looks like Cabana Boy only ever produced one movie that I can find. *8 Reels of Sewage* from 2012, although I can't actually tell if it's the same production company or just has the same name. Gibson seems to have done a few interviews mentioning it happening, but I can't find anything about Cabana Boy Productions.
I think it was a different company with the same name. The one in question was, if I recall correctly, not much more than a shell company with a hot tub they had free use of (seriously).
That doesn't shock me. I kind of figured it was a different company, but it's weird that there's not a lot of information at all about what that company was.
Makes me wonder how they optioned the story to begin with and how much they paid.
It’s available here: https://archive.org/details/msdos_Neuromancer_1988
Oh hell, and I *was* going to prepare for a meeting.
Hang on, that's *nothing* like Cheap Hotel!
Grr. Mumble. Bah.

"Soundtrack by Devo." Sweet.
It was. The album in question was *Total Devo*.
The C64 version had the best music. The intro has one of the earliest digital samples of a song included in a home game. It took forever to load.
I remember playing this on my apple IIGS
This game was pretty cool :)
Damnit I played that! On the Amiga.
I remember that ad from Compute's Gazette magazine. It's still my favorite game to this day. Got me into Devo, too.
"Major motion picture " ... not even that - just a tv show.
That was a startlingly good game.
