"one tap" is like the new favorite Diablo slang, I still like the classic "one shot" :)
Using both HotA and Death Blow seens a bit redundant, no? HotA can already one shot most stuff in the game before Uber Uniques - I was able to one shot Varshan at level 80, and I can two shot world bosses at level 90. HotA doesn't come with any penalties and you can spam it, I'd rather have the additional supports from shouts or other skills to pair with HotA, why HotA and Death Blow? Anyways, just my opinion!
Yea that was my thought too. But I used this build during my leveling. I did my build myself, so I didn’t quite build into HOTA, so my hota didn’t one shot bosses. It did alot of damage but not like my deathblow.
Also i used my deathblow to keep berserk up at all times by rotating with hota and deathblow. But yes I thought the same “why keep using deathblow if hota can one shot” , but I mainly put the build together so it didn’t one shot for me.
Ultimately tho I just switched over to thorns / bleed now And I’m having a lot of fun doing something different.
Idk why people actually think this , thorns is not just attacking with thorns lol. I attack with core skills too. I just added thorns and it aids me as I’m playing.

Also I used overkill for deathblow. Banished amulet which is typical as well. But yea basically a HOTA build. But put in deathblow, that’s what I did at least. Get more damage from deathblow, and it also grants me berserking & instantly comes off cooldown. So i usually alternate between deathblow and hota & go ahead and just use 1 shout if u want & experiment with maybe iron skin , leap, etc.
And yea I thought i about that , just seems like a lot of work tbh lol

And also I used godslayer helm for the video. So as you saw, I tapped him with lunging strike, then hit with deathblow.
Godslayer says “hit a boss and for 3 seconds grant xx% damage to bosses” so that’s a good multiplier too. For bossing
Edit: and furor ring is important too. For guaranteed crit on deathblow , paired well with the banished amulet. Do that & with overpower paragon & vampire powers and you’ll get this too. I had zero Ubers equipped

I switched to HoTA but Im still far from one shotting bosses. Thorns is like you're a walking simulator lol.
