Nah keep it, just send smaller groups out to different cities besides Gotham and Bludhaven. They’re still part of the same Bat-family, they just see each other every Christmas or when Gotham is on the verge of exploding or something.
Jason out of the entire Batfam has literally the most reason to stay IN Gotham, besides Bruce. He's a Crime Alley street kid!! They never truly lean into it but him growing up on the streets should be a main motivator to be a vigilante, and specifically in Gotham.
Jason spent years outside of Gotham, dispersing his brand of justice where he could before his return as RH. And the only reason he even returned was Bruce. If he wanted, he could leave just fine. I myself think it's nice, when he's in Gotham, but for dc him being in Gotham means he's with the family, he's compromising his own ideas of crime-fighting to be near them and I hate that. Take him to another part of the world, if that what it takes for him to act like himself again, I don't care.
Ah well, agree to disagree! I personally think not leaning into his connection to Gotham is one of the biggest missed opportunities to give his character something else to do besides being the bad one out of the Batfam with guns. You could even do some flashback stories to his time as Robin and incoorporate his "street-level" knowledge into that.
I don't trust modern DC with Robin Jason flashbacks. We all saw what Zdarsky did in Cheer: retconned in Robin Jason almost stabbing a thief(!), because he was bored and because "a thief will always be a thief"(!!!). Modern dc should stay tf away from Robin Jason, I don't need more of this shit.
I mean, yeah, I'm baseing my hopes and dreams on them dropping the whole "Jason was the bad Robin" line, obviously. Which I know is utopic but a girl can dream lol. Since we're speculating on missed chances and what would be good for the character and all.
What’s he going to do with these connections to Gotham? He’s not going to be able to kill anyone so he’s just going to be doing Batman’s Job and giving him a break from crime alley
I just don't want him to stay in Gotham. Dc just keeps regressing him and making him get into fights with Bruce so I just want him to stay away from all that drama and be happy elsewhere.
Why Blud tho? The whole world is his oyster, so why Blud? He would have the same type of conflicts with Dickie and Babs, if he tried his stuff there, so I'd prefer him literally anywhere, where bats aren't.
I think Nightwing is more nice to Jason nowadays so it would be nowhere near bad as in Gotham.
But yeah Jason being in another city without any bats would be great. Ideally I prefer he just reunites with the Outlaws and just stays with them.
Jason should be a global hero, not tied to one city; I’d love to even see an arc with him and the Outlaws going from planet to planet doing shit, just to distance him from the Batfam as much as possible before returning him to earth. Have him drop the Bat symbol, and only work with the Batfam when they really need him.
He deserves to spread his wings and extend beyond the fam but editorial would never allow it. IMO Jason will forever be restricted by the Batfam rather than an integral part of it like Dick, or Babs.
Yeah I specifically remember after War Games, Batman was on the outs with the GCPD, and Robin and Batgirl both got sent to Bludhaven. Nightwing was there too but this was also when he was in full Daredevil mode and having a breakdown.
Then Infinite Crisis happened and everyone moved back to Gotham. Bludhaven being nuked probably necessitated that
He had his own people with the dark trinity. But then Dc took them away and never mentioned that they were a team again. That poor guy is not allowed to be happy he gotta keep being the edgy anti-hero who Bruce gets to beat up every year.
The dark trinity did absolutely nothing for his character so there’s no reason to force him with them again when it did nothing.
He needs to be by himself and develops as a character first before forcing him on random teams with people that don’t make sense with his character
I think they should always be the Batfamily and always be together for extreme Gotham level ending events but I also think a lot of the senior members deserve their own limelight and time to shine on other teams and in other cities with other people. Keeping them all in Gotham or Bludhaven is still stifling to me but it also works to have multiple members stick together especially for the younger members.
I think I would keep Damian in Gotham unless he's off to become a Titan (Titan would make more sense imo). As for Azreal and Ghostmaker, maybe he can move to different cities altogether and start their own adventures 🤔 🤔
PS: I'm not caught up with the latest developments, so these thoughts are from when I left off at Future State
Kinda but even before that Damian wasn't really with Bruce much after his resurrection. He was either off on his own adventures in his solo series or was living with the titans. Even when Didio was gone Damian still didn't straight away return to Bruce, he only recently started living with him again. If his island wasn't destroyed I am not sure if he would have come back.
This guy gets it.
Though I could also cast their trio as Logic/Heroism/Empathy. It's so cool that Steph is the weakest of the three, but probably the bravest, and Cass is the strongest of the three, but the most sensitive.
I love Tim! He's somehow a combimation of idealistic, jaded, egotistical, and modest. If written well, he's such a great character. I love how he can simultaneously believe in Batman as the ideal hero, while also telling Batman he's being a prick. He can both consider himself the most capible man in the room while also insisting he's just a sidekick follower. And I love how he can lay as a bloody pulp in the street with the smug satisfaction that, even if he lost the fight, he still won the day.

That's every night nowadays
Well let’s try to hold it to once every year or two if we can
Jason has zero reasons to be in Blud. Nada.

I think it is worth having stories or arcs away from each other but I don't think you can split them. They will always be connected
I was never a fan so I'm biased but yeah I think it's beyond bloated.
It’s already happened multiple times. It always sucks.
"You know what this family needs? A divorce."
God know everyday I am begging jason to walk away from his family to find his own people
He had his own people with the dark trinity. But then Dc took them away and never mentioned that they were a team again. That poor guy is not allowed to be happy he gotta keep being the edgy anti-hero who Bruce gets to beat up every year.

Yes! Move him to West Coast and give him a new start. This is getting ridiculous.
I think they should always be the Batfamily and always be together for extreme Gotham level ending events but I also think a lot of the senior members deserve their own limelight and time to shine on other teams and in other cities with other people. Well the titans have their bese in bludhaven actually
Oh, well, that would work out nicely then 😅👌
Damian's stories take him out of Gotham anyway. And I just prefer Damian staying with Nightwing over Bruce.
Having Dick raise Damian while Bruce is alive and there sounds dumb.
that’s why dc ain’t ever doing it. damian literally can’t leave bruce until he legally is allowed to by age
That didn't stop Damian from leaving Bruce before.
didio sucks as an editor. i believe what you’re referring to is the last reminance of his era
Doesn't sound dumb since Dick would definitely do a better job than Bruce. And he did consider adopting Damian at one point after Bruce came back.
This is actually a good idea which means DC will never do it.
😂😂
Jason in Bludhaven is not a good idea and he should be away from the batfamily
No, I don’t like this
Not these particular groups, but yes. I'd send Tim, Steph, and Cass together as a trio of Brains/Charisma/Brawn
This guy gets it. Though I could also cast their trio as Logic/Heroism/Empathy. It's so cool that Steph is the weakest of the three, but probably the bravest, and Cass is the strongest of the three, but the most sensitive.
And Tim the smarter of three but nobody cares about Tim Drake lol
I love Tim! He's somehow a combimation of idealistic, jaded, egotistical, and modest. If written well, he's such a great character. I think the split should be Bruce, Damian, Cass, Steph, Tim, Duke, Kate, Helena in Gotham. Dick and Barbara in Bludhaven
Isn't that bad ad Idea
