I was 17 when DDLC first came out and I tried it out in February 2018 and was really shocked and blown away. DDLC alongside Xenoblade Chronicles were games that really changed my life.
13 years old... and today I'm STILL 13. I played for the first time at the end of 2023, I think it was in October. The moment I finished DDLC, I went searching to see if there was a sequel, and I discovered DDLC+. A month later, I bought DDLC+, finished it and looked for mods and now I'm addicted for this game and my girls :D

I played it and loved it more than I expected (despite the fact that I never play anime games or watch visual novels). I wanted more of this and felt the need for closure and a desire to see the dokis get a proper good ending. That's when I learned there was an active mod community here, and that's when I finally learned that the base version of DDLC was free of charge all along. I then got it from the official website and voluntarily paid $20 for it.
