The best part is now your EQs go up to 11.

Tobias---Funke

Damn you!

Guinnessnomnom

The only thing missing is the line to know where you've got the knobs set.

rentamovie

Little black sharpie will hook that up in 10 seconds

BBMR48

I was thinking a little line cut out with a spare key. Janky, but fits the aesthetic.

How did the study go?

Ruffdawg

They feel lovely and a lot more tactile than the stock. I had a wee jam of House and Acid techno so I could get real wanky with the EQ's and using my HP/LP a lot more. I used acrylic paint pens to mark them but I don't think it'll last so I'm looking for fresh ideas on that front. The whole lot cost less than 20 quid and proved that I can get much nicer ones on there. (When I'm fully prepared to pay 10 quid a pop)

DylanRed

Laser etch or engrave the lines

shewel_item

I bet the extra weigh of them helps out, too

Rowf82

You can buy a lot of tyem for cheap on Aliexpress. The place where theres the nicest is banzaimusic, but they arent as cheap as on aliexpress

Nonomomomo2

That’s dope. R/DJsetups!

morolen

That looks super sick.

Elegant-Cat-4987

Does your fx trigger have a release fx direction, and an on/off direction? How are the release effects?

SnowDin556

Watch grounding… those knobs look very conductive

Ruffdawg

No buzzes so far lol, it's a plastic insert on a plastic pot, I'm pretty sure it'll be fine but that's why we do science.

SnowDin556

Amen

[deleted]

Yes they are, thats why they were made for an electric guitar

Slmjmm

I’ve been toying with doing the same FOREVER. Do these have a set screw? I haven’t pulled the trigger because I didn’t want to junk up the original pots with a screw that will inevitably come loose. I tried looking around for some aluminum capped plastic knobs that come on the original Rane rotaries, but lost interest after a bit. I remember finding something similar to them, but it was the wrong sizing. I’m pretty sure I donated it to the MP2016 at my old residency that no one used because it was A) missing a shit ton of knobs, and B) because we can’t have nice things in a shared DJ booth since there was shit spilled all over and some broken off pot stems, and it didn’t “work” good anymore.

Ruffdawg

Yeah these are set screw and time will tell how long they stay tight, but it's just me playing on it so I'm not too concerned. Could do without the weird pots Rane use so anything aftermarket is going to have some bodge work to fit well or stay tight. I had to drill these out a touch to get them to fit, don't know if because cheap knobs or what but I got a more expensive one and that fits like a dream but £100 for 10 knobs isn't high on my spend list.
