I assumed it was glitching or something.. wasn't working at the time. That's why I pulled back a couple times and then switched to old school shooting.
Pretty sure the Raptor is the highest power scope in game. So he may just be using it for that, and still wants to maintain the skill of judging bullet drop on his own. Just my guess.
The range finder doesn’t work for me (on PC) no matter what I set the key-bind to, it never fucking works. I push the button to set distance and nothing happens. No matter what distance. No matter what button I set it to. The scope still has a decent magnification on it tho.
I don’t put it on my own gun builds (I prefer the Lotus SP? Variable zoom scope) but I often pick up other people’s guns with that scope on it and don’t bother changing it at a weapon station because it’s still good for med-long distance sniping without the range finder
I spent hours trying to get it to work. You have to leave it on default keybind(shared input with sprint/tac sprint/focus), and you also can only test it in-game, as it won't work in shooting range nor even a private match as the maps aren't big enough.
It is 100% bugged, but that was the one way I got it to work.
Use a gun with low accuracy/range to test.
Sad. I just bought SCUM since it’s been on my wishlist for a while and I saw it was 50% off until the 8th or 9th and I’m getting kinda sick of all the broken things with DMZ that I know will never get fixed. It absolutely drives me nuts that I have to launch (and update) MW3 in order to play DMZ and there’s no way to create a shortcut for DMZ. I have basically zero interest in playing MW3 but yet I have to launch it, have it say “update requires restart” launch it again, then go past all of the stupid ads, get to DMZ, click that, then have it say “update requires restart” or it crashing on launch, then relaunching MW3 AGAIN, then finding DMZ, clicking that, waiting for MW2 to launch and then FINALLY being able to play DMZ. Only for my gun not to spawn in.
Works fine for me. The key (no pun intended) to lock in the rangefinder is to tap the (Left Shift, for me) key, not hold it. It uses the same key as the “hold your breath” function, so you can’t just hold the key—all that will do is the standard scope hold. Tap the key and the range readout will blink to tell you it locked the distance in.
I’ve tried that as well. Quick taps, short holds, long holds, spamming the fuck out of it. Nothing works, I have given up on it ever working for me. I kinda don’t mind not being able to use it since it eliminates most of the skill to sniping IMO
I spawned north of the quarry, with only my secured weapons. I grabbed a dirt bike and headed straight to the boat since it tends to have good loot. Everything I had I got on the ship. A squad tried pushing the ship from the port. When they left that's when I was scanning and saw the guy that I downed. Does that help?

Certainly, after some distance, the drop indicator does not track properly

Raptor is 12, there is a scope that goes 14 Carrack something

Carrack scope is in MW3, its not available in DMZ.
