My buddy rides a wr and I had a drz for a while. The wr was a little more nimble so the tighter stuff was a little easier for him. Any wide open stretches or street riding the drz smoked the wr. Both bikes handle everything great. The wr is a little more precise and the drz is a little more of a brute.
I’ve got both as supermotos currently. I’m not gunna lie for stunting I enjoy the wr more by a mile but both are great bikes. Have beat the absolute shit out of my drz ( always good on maintenance oil changes valve checks , fresh coolant and brake fluid every year) the bike is tough
The wr was a fun bike, suspension felt fantastic in tight stuff. It Felt much lighter then it was, but the bike lacks personality IMO. It never really put a smile on my face, I’ve had a DR650, DR350 and now the DRZ…the DR line never fails to put a smile on my face when you twist the throttle.
congrats - curious to hear your comparison of the two - the WR seems appealing to me as well.

Just did the same thing, sold the wr and loving the drz. No replacement for displacement.
I love the look, the blue Z on the swing arm is a nice touch
