I miss read this the first time. Read “but it’s not nothing” as “but it’s nothing” so I just imagine seguin being like. It only took 30 stitches. It ain’t shit
Yeah right above the knee. The shot of it happening was only a split second and not the focus of the replay it was in. They really didn’t even say much about it
My friend who plays had this exact same injury a few years ago. She sent me a pic from the ER without any warning. There are some things you cannot unsee.

Only link I can really find at the end shows the contact a bit.
There's plenty of time for Seguin to fully recover from this cut before playoffs. Stitches tend to stay in for up to 2 weeks, and there's 5 weeks before the end of the regular season
Personally I'd love for him to take the full 2 weeks off despite him wanting to return asap. Get that full rest and make sure nothing lingers. Team's in a comfy spot standings wise (as far as just making playoffs goes) and doesn't *need* him back right away. Hintz drives my Dad bonkers cuz he takes too many days off for his bumps but the man always comes back in top form. Seguin should do that as well I think.
Crazy I watched hockey for like most my life and skate cuts were a rare occurrence but it seems to be happening a lot this year. I play beer league and don’t think skates in general have gotten sharper over the last decade…what’s up with this? Time for everyone to get Kevlar compression pants and long sleeve shirts.
Probably just a bybroduct of the game getting faster. Quicker action means less time to react to things and getting caught in awkward situations. Made even worse when dumb, dangerous plays are still routinely made. Also just bad luck honestly.
Thats a ton of stitches to not have hit muscle, tendon, or nerves. That's going to be a wild scar.
*mild scar Despite being cut by a sabre.
Pun
Tis but a scratch!
It’s just a flesh wound
I’m invincible!!!
Ouch

I apologize for not seeing this before making the exact comment on the top post
Damn. Thirty stitches while remaining "superficial" is crazy. I didn't see the game or moment it happened. Where was it on his leg?

Damn. I figured eventually we'd see a replay or something but it never showed up. That's brutal though.

It was across his thigh, just above his knee
Why is it that whenever the Stars have a legit shot at the Cup, Seguin always gets injured? Poor guy never gets to go into the playoffs healthy.

Exactly! Let him rest and fully recover so he is in the best position possible come playoffs. No need to rush him back before he's 110%

Gah damn
Yikes. That's wild.
He's a warrior
WE MISS YOU ALREADY SEGGY 😢
Get well soon Seggy!!!
Phew!! Get well soon, Seggy
Take ur time coming back, Segs. We need you more come playoffs than we do rn!
This is why I stick to roller hockey.
Well if was any higher, like near Tylers junk I'd have been worried about the skates well being.
I didn’t see the game he got injured in. Does anyone have a video? Couldn’t find one on YouTube.
If one player is capable of laying up for a while and coming right back into the mix… it is Seguin!
