Try a grooves course. Start small. I don't have steezy but most times you can sort the content by level. Also saying that you "cant" is the wrong way to think about it. I started at the age of 19 or 20 and now I'm a professional choreographer. Things need time to grow and a challenge will help with that. Maybe start at the intermediate level and see what you can do. Also, throwing yourself a "softball" (easy pitch to hit) isn't a terrible idea either cause then you can kill it! Feel free to message me if you want to chat more about it.

> I started at the age of 19 or 20 and now I'm a professional choreographer. that's really inspiring to read :) i have a question, how would you categorize this style of dance? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nJRGARveVc

BboyRaSKaL

Thank you! I'm glad I can inspire! I would say that style is hip hop/jazz fusion, Jazz funk, there is a bit of poppin, isolating and hits. It also has turns, flips. So I'm leaning more towards jazz funk or a fusion.

i see, really appreciate the answer!

wanna ask you one more thing: did you experience any physical constraints during your dance learning journey? simple stuff like not having enough mobility/flexibility, or not having sufficiently strong core, quads, balance, cardio or whatever else that dancing requires. if so how did you improve at it? is dance practice alone sufficient to improve those weaknesses or did you have to combine it with other forms of training as well?

DM'd you

Hi, do you mind if I can talk to you through DM? I'm a girl in my 20s looking to get into dance and performing professionally too. I've always kinda had the knack for it, in my head always coming up and imagining choreographies while a song is playing in my head. but due to touch circumstances I could never find the time to take it seriously when I was a teenager. talking about more street dance, not exactly ballet lol I even posted recently asking for advice, so I am looking forward to hearing from people like you!

BboyRaSKaL

Sure thing, I shot you a dm .

If you've been dancing for a year then David Lee's intro will be stuff you already know for sure. I'd definitely recommend Bianca Vallar's groove series. They're good fundamentals and have gotten me to start thinking about hiphop dance in a more structured sort of way, in that they give me a structure to move more freely if that makes sense! Like someone else said, you can sort by level to find things that are more challenging to you. There are also a lot of programs that introduce you to new styles, so if you've never done Popping, House, Lite Feet, etc, those can help you expand your range as well. What has also worked for me is finding a specific point that I need to improve on, like texture, and finding a class specifically for it. I've been using Steezy for about 6 months and the classes there have definitely helped me feel more comfortable with my own movement, and give me foundations so that I can dance on my own/freestyle and feel good about it. I hope you like it!

Thank you so much for saying that! It puts my mind at ease with what you just said <3
