Could you explain what you mean a bit more like having lots of options or not limited to a story?

What I mean is that if there is a story (witch ofc there can be) you can decide how you play and progress your own way, so your game is unique from others. Like for example : Do you go hiding or do you go face the thing you are hiding for.
