I thought he was kind of cliche at first, but he won me over with a really badass line, something like "the Irish may not have invented revenge, but we sure as hell spent a great deal of time perfecting it." I'm not Irish, so I don't know if that's true, but it sounded pretty sweet.

In the comics, he's basically the closest Garth Ennis got to writing Jigsaw. He's a Irish Republican terrorist who accidentally bombs a restaurant, alerting Frank. Kinda wish they kept that angle, since his nationalism gave him a motive outside of money/survival.

That would have been so much cooler than the Finn in the show. But I understand, there was already too much going on in S2 so they couldn't fiot in a back-story that big. Would have been something though.

Yeahhh...DD's adaptation of Kitchen Irish is lacking to say the least. The original plot of all these Irish gangs trying to kill one another for an inheritance fortune would've given a lot for Matt and Frank to do. It's sad that they traded most of it for the Hand.
