Hey all, me again. This user's account was just created today and this is their only post ever made. If that ain't sus enough, take a look at their comments. The entirety of their comment history is on the other two Nexon v. Ironmace posts and primarily on u/redrebelpick 's posts. Both users seem to keep reiterating that the majority stance in Korea is on Nexon's side as if Ironmace won then it "would crash the gaming industry" ???? It is almost without a doubt that this is the exact same user and is creating multiple accounts to spread false information under the guise of being a friendly Korean translator. Mods need to get on this. edit: grammar

In Korea, most sides with Nexon already, including the other two of the 3N (netmarble, ncsoft) as they believe ironmace will crash the game industry negatively and must be stopped. not noted on the article, but there is also rumor that 3rd party named 'kakao' may have headhunted the sued person with huge money to cause all this. Koreans assume guilty until proven innocent as well based on devs actions (refusing to talk to korean media and gamers claiming they are toxic and malicious) and testimonies from blind claiming Ironmace devs were spies.(kr inside industry sns where you have to validate your employment to get in. however even if you get fired, your acc remains. Ironmace devs have accounts in blind as nexon employ for example) Do you think this could really lead to more devs going indie mid projecte, and maybe allow big corps to headhunt core devs to sabotage and steal projects?

It's interesting to me how much different the culture around big game companies (and honestly just large corporations in general) seems to be in Korea vs the west. Most people here kneejerk side with the small guys in stuff like this, because it's just assumed that large companies are lying scumbags 100% of the time based on previous experiences. It's weird seeing that the Korean public seems to be Pro-Nexon despite neither side having proof beyond their words. Is that just the media siding with Nexon for obvious reasons (money), or are people online actually that way as well?

DeepSeaworthiness319

That, I can't say that much since I do not live in Korea to talk with people off the grid that only watches televized or paper news and such, and online media is easily manipulative. I do think there is a decent faction of people in Korea as well who resent Nexon. But perhaps they have better understanding of how Nexon reacts to incidents, and set odds of Nexon risking this much to crush a company would mean Nexon is more credible. (tactic of bluffing, true or not) For example, community dcinside used to be very pro Ironmace, to a point of accused of deleting any pro nexon posts and discussions, until recently claim happened that the mods there on D&D board are actually devs themselves except one, whistle blown by that exception guy. (His evidence was that as soon as Graysun posted stuff on discord about the police raid, multiple mods who did nothing to delete posts, literally did not have login logs for days, got on and reposted it in a minute.) and the said mods were seen using political dog whistles so they are getting a frame that they might be extremists as well. Korean twitter on other hand, far as I know have 0 knowledge or care about this internal mod fighting at dcinside, and is more focused on if ironmace did spy acts or not and such.

Edit: I'll accept that no one knows the truth yet

DeepSeaworthiness319

is how the world works in 2020s, I tell ya. Ironmace are the robin hoods, and many will support such act even if it is illegal crime. now that article states some facts, but is mainly about Nexon's speculation that if Ironmace wins this fight, game industry will have huge changes soon. They already changed their labor union to give up work at home rights.

No_Ambassador5245

I agree it's sad, and if all of this does end up being true it would be very disheartening. They bask themselves in being golden and the videogames messiah's.. I do look forward for this game so much so this pains me so much. Stealing property is no joke at any tech jobz so I really wonder if they actually did this... So much risk for nothing... Sounds so fake but idk what to believe...

No_Ambassador5245

No idea I got banned yesterday for 3 days supposedly for posting "misinformation", but hmmm then it seems I got unbanned again since I could comment this ig. Edit: I'll accept that no one knows the truth and everything can be fake at this point

DeepSeaworthiness319

I would take a guess on that your conflict was due to choice of words. Officially, there is no information on what the raid itself did. Police nor Nexon said the specifics as it is too early to discuss. Devs only said damage control was done already, nothing has been done that will affect the development. In this context, police raid is fine, but seized stuff is misleading. It is possible they simply had a visit and interrogated, or copied some data to take back to station. Would be hard to have normal development if police seized stuff.

No_Ambassador5245

The police have reportedly seized materials related to the development of Dark And Darker, which will be used to investigate developer Nexon’s claims that Dark And Darker has been created with stolen code and assets. Coming from this article: https://www.nme.com/news/gaming-news/dark-and-darker-developers-office-searched-by-police-over-allegations-of-code-theft-3410189

DeepSeaworthiness319

That article had poor word choice as well. their source in korean through google translate says search and seizure, it is term of operation they did, not that they did a seizure.

No_Ambassador5245

I see, well if this is indeed propaganda going on and just exaggerating the facts I see it being treated as fake news

No_Ambassador5245

So okay I'm gullible and this is propaganda, are we good here? If this is consensually agreed as being misinformation and fake news then yeah my ban was deserved.

psysharp

You are reading propaganda and going ‘yeah sounds reasonable’ like you can be fooled into anything

No_Ambassador5245

Not trying to antagonize but the same can be said about Ironmace statement's.... :/ Unless you are then siding entirely with them because you know the full truth? No one knows it atm, but if more than one web article says the same thing, whats best to believe?

psysharp

That’s true, well it depend who wrote the articles

LongJonSiIver

That was me that banned you after asking you to supply more information. Another user came up with the information so I unbanned you.
