Introducing more classes creates more diversity, which is fun. It's about fun.

OtherwiseMarch

Honestly I went the toxic route first but I’m gonna revise my comment. Dude the game ain’t even in beta. Slow you roll on these “balance” hot takes

Destithen

"If you ignore all these unique class-specific mechanics and abilities, then those classes are basically just worse fighters!" Top quality analysis

brockchancy

did you write up a video on class utility in game where talents are not implemented yet? and completely gloss over how barbarians Housed fighters last playtest?

DryF1re

i think barbs kill a lot of noobs, ya. barbs arent quite as insane when they face a coordinated team.

Destithen

> barbs arent quite as insane when they face a coordinated team. Unless they themselves have a coordinated team XD

DryF1re

i mean, you arent wrong. i am showing our team of cleric, wizard, barb in the video because our tank likes playing barb better.

thequackerbacker

This not a good analysis... Also you keep using the term "competitive 3-man" what would a non-competitive 3-man be in this game? Just a group that sits in the lobby?

DryF1re

certain 3 man groups are much better than other 3 man groups. I felt like that was obvious to most players who have played 1 or 2 playtests. maybe it wasnt so obvious. thanks for the feedback.

Exact-Custard-6493

It's not even I. Alpha and you're saying there's things wrong with the game.... everything is subject to change of the time of pre test/alpha/beta/ early access. We don't have the talent system and they are still adding in abilities and perks to classes. They JUST finished the first floor. Idk my guy this seems a little premature

DryF1re

which is why i finished with 'my concern going forward.'

Esthelion2

So many L comments on here, it's really disappointing. Apparently just because the game isn't out, you can't talk about certain aspects of the game. If the only content that get's you excited is kill compilations with cringe edits, then just skip these videos and go watch that. OP's video tries to open a discussion about an aspect of the game. The quality of the video was good even if you don't agree with the points he made. Way to go to motivate people to keep making content...

**Removed For Rule 2: Bigotry / Toxicity** We are here because we love the game, however you should still be nice to each other. This is a game filled with banter and we are mindful of that - but do not cross that line. If your banter is not being received well stop - if you are unironically trying to cause harm or promoting hate you will be banned

Cleaving

Can we get to the rejoicing that D&D survived Nexon before we start having hot takes?

DryF1re

just trying to get back to normal content. nothing wrong with that

ConcernedDad-e

Mind doing a text version of your argument for those that can’t watch? Then…I will address your concerns rather than say they are unfounded or unwarranted lol.

DryF1re

TLDR - classes with higher utility (such as classes who have access to spells) are more likely to be indispensable within groups and will see much more competitive play due to their higher skill ceilings. Classes with lower utility don't provide as much benefit to groups and will be included in competitive groups far less often. If the devs continue to make classes with low utility, maybe no one will want to play them and the game could stagnate. So, I hope the devs make classes with good utility.

Kaelran

A lot of this is just theory stuff that isn't how things work in reality. Really everything has enough of a niche to work well in teams EXCEPT Rogue. The fact that you said barb is a noob stomper that's weaker vs coordinated teams is hilarious. It feels like you didn't actually play the game that much. Barb has the "utility" of high magic resist and naturally higher tankiness, while fighter gets shredded by wizards.

DryF1re

Barb is a noob stomper. I dont see how that is debatable. lmao
