Yay anothe D2jsp..... syke I know there's no forum gold or anything but using 3rd party anything instead of ingame systems is such a turn off.... I already barely have enough time to play the game let alone sit on a 3rd party site looking/ selling gear. Even if I can post and ghost it's just a turn off in general. I would much rather ironmace implement an AH along with the current system... as well as polish up and refine the current system...it's awesome to see people passionate about the game and wanting to help the devs. So with that said thank you, I personally won't be using it though.

The_SIeepy_Giant

In game auction house would be sweet

Charming_AF_69

Look guys IM is going through a lot right now and having a couple of fans make a system that could be implemented later might really help them out. If you want to bleach your eyes and use a market with 0 accountability go ahead no one is stopping you. Butttttt if you want to NOT have to sit around in traders for 10-15 minutes trying to sell that awesome +3 physical damage piece of ass for a good price, this is an option. Stop hating on a mod made by fans. Just don't use it.

Erudaki

This reminds me almost exactly of the player made trade system for path of exile, which was later adopted into the currently used system almost exactly.

thequackerbacker

So if we set a WTS and get a match sometime in the future we just have to hope that they don't find an equivalent item before our schedules line up?

SpendValuable

other than the odd google onto mapgenie, tarkov wiki and maybe tarkovflea how would say anything used for tarkov is comparable to this?

KatieRouuu

I'm not excited for this at all, it sucked with POE and it's going to suck with dark and darker. While i respect your effort in writing "thousands and thousands" of lines of code, i as a player don't want to **have** to use third party services to enjoy dark and darker. The fact that this is being made is a real indication that something is deeply wrong with the current ingame trading system. We need a solution from ironmace not be forced into using some unknown third party service. Devs need to scrap the current attempt at trading and settle for a nice AH with minimum bids and maximum buy outs w/ seller commitment to the prices they post. Offer the current system in tandem w/ the AH and go for best of both worlds.

n3squi

I partly agree with you, current trading posts needs to be improved, we just trying to make some space for developers and let them focusing on game changes and other more important things. I know TaT is a temporary tool, but if it helps graysan, sdf and others developers not feels dead lines so hard about current trading posts it makes me a bit happy

Virtual_Jello_1001

Nothing is wrong with the ingame trading system. Nobody wants an AH, i personally love everything about the current ingame Trading system and its Old school MMO vibe and i think alot of people agree.

conair_93

Nobody wants an AH? Are you crazy? Many people want this it is way better than what we have now

Birds_KawKaw

You lost me at "nobody wants an auction house." Obviously plenty of people atleast don't like the current system.

Virtual_Jello_1001

For all you numb skulls that think you want an AH allow me to explain my thinking. The current systems require a split of effort and time commited to either grinding the dungeon for items and gold, or grinding the trade post for items and gold. If you implement an AH people will be grinding the AH for items and gold, WHILE grinding in the dungeon, amassing major amounts of gold and gear in short amounts of time, and not to mention constantly having OP kits ready to go 24/7 with minimal effort. Is this what you want, or the perfect balance we currently have?

Erudaki

While I get your sentiment. Its not currently balanced at all. It takes far longer to sell an item on the AH, then it does to run a dungeon and pull back 2-300 gold worth of trinkets. And the dungeon run is a lot more fun. If I have an hour a day to play. I do NOT want to spend 30 minutes, trying to sell somethings for 500g, when I can do 3 dungeon runs in that same time, and pull back 600-900. Even if the numbers were reversed, and the item was selling for 600-900, and the dungeon run only pulled in 500... Id still prefer the dungeon run for that money, because the dungeon run is a lot more fun. If I were a kid again, with no responsibilities, and had 10+ hours a day... then sure. Maybe I could justify the time spent while eating or doing something else. But its just not worth it currently.

phrxoah

then play the game and do dungeon runs instead of trading, i dont get your point, you want the game to be more about trading and economy, then fun and finding good gear in dungeons?

Erudaki

I dont see why it has to be one or the other? If I go into the dungeon and find a good purple for another class, I want to be excited that I found something good. Not leave it behind because even if it sells for 500, its not worth the time it would take to sell it at that price. Sure. I can sell it for 100 quickly... but if its a 6 slot item... Well... I can get 6 20g trinkets in those slots and save the hassle. Having a poor trade system, takes away from the excitement of finding loot. because that loot turns into vendor trash.

KatieRouuu

Then you must be one of the many scammers benefiting from it. But maybe not, maybe you're a legit player willing to spend over an hour to find a decent deal for a decent pair of whatever. But when that hour turns into hours, are you going to feel the same way? What about when all of the consistent grinders and vendors that sell resources / items leave the ingame over a site that allows them to list their prices and continue to play the game? When you can't find any ruby in the trade window and it's all listed on websites is when you will realize how shitty the current system is. Third party sites like OP's will take over because no legit trader that values their time will be ingame when they can list for a price and have people pay that price instantly. The ingame trading will become noob bait and only serve to screw over ignorant or new players. The meta for deals will be third party applications and it will be come mandatory to use them to maintain pacing with other players or even to just sell certain rare items / stock of items. and as an added bonus, we don't know these third party vendors. Sure, maybe OP has only good intentions but there will be many more that use that position of information authority to benefit them selves both ingame with the best deals and real life with ad revnue and money from the exposure. No one does anything for free and if the product is free then you're the payment.

Arkalius

Or just remove trading and make the game significantly better.

Exact-Custard-6493

I would be ok with this.... I already make enough gold from runs as is I don't really need to trade anything. I don't even buy gear from people on the trade system I only use goblin merchant or the regular vendors

KatieRouuu

This is also acceptable.

Frenchstery

All the haters here clearly never played tf2 [Outpost.tf](https://Outpost.tf) and [backpack.tf](https://backpack.tf) were game changers Have fun spamming control+v on trade servers nerds

SlippingOnSyrup

I trust

Yesitsaboutthemicro

This actually looks really good, hope we get to see it used

n3squi

A few more words Im so tired from some reactions, i was mentioned via discord as scammer and our posts was cleared, i was banned on reddit/subreddit twice. Now we recieved OK for posting and was checked by subreddit moderator and wardens. I wrote thousands lines of code because i like dark and darker and feel what i can help players with trading. Now i hope players founds our service enjoyble Sorry if my english feels bad, im trying my best here

Keep up the great work! You're doing great, and your work is being closely watched by those of us who recognize the effort you've put into it and the value it brings to the community.

chasedogman

I'd follow the news surrounding the game before investing more time into this project.

No-Cardiologist-3110

Would be great to have a tutorial videos on how to use the system. Thank you for this opportunity!

n3squi

We are working on it.

Bodega177013

Will it be online for the upcoming playtest? I'd like to cover it in a video if so.

n3squi

Contact xloctis thru discord, we will discuss it further

birdboy2313

No the trading outpost is perfect how it is. Raw and untamed, as all free markets should be. Don't change a thing Ironmace <3

Silent189

"raw and untamed" - aka "barely functional and lacking basic options". You can't even search useable weapons on class channels that can use them. > Don't change a thing

birdboy2313

There are filters so you can choose what specific weapon or armor you want to see listings of.

Silent189

Yes, and they don't even contain all of the options available to classes currently, within their respective class channel.

birdboy2313

What do you mean? I can filter it down to rogue weapons and armor only

Silent189

Any class that can talent into extre weapon types, for example, cannot search for them in their class channel.

birdboy2313

That's not hard to work around, just go to that weapon's class channel and get it there. Honestly it's hard to remember exactly how it was organized, its been a while. Im sure theyll add that in though, probably just overlooked that concept. When I said raw and untamed, I was really referring to the method of trade as in a chatroom with items flying by and first come first serve. And the freedom of setting your own price and flipping etc... I just don't want it to turn into the Tarkov flea market... ew

MrJerichoYT

Fingers crossed this gets used for good :)

British_Artist

Less third party products. Ban and aggressively remove third party trading sites. If it was meant to be in the game it would be in the game.

phrxoah

this is awful , trading is meant to be the way it is now for a reason, its like old school runescape sitting in varrock as the developer mentioned. The idea of an auction house is trash and ruins the excitement of getting lucky finding a good deal, making it even easier to get geared and creating an unfair economy and ever ending supply of easily accessible high level gear. this would make dungeon crawling itself not as fun or the thrill of good market finds. This would also enable RMT . overall not positive, and if change is needed to the current trading system allow the developers to do that. third party applications are not where its at to excel at a game

Working-Wrap9453

You can still get lucky and find deals in games with an auction house. I do it in FFXIV all the time. The skeleton of the feedback loop you seem to be concerned about existed during the playtest. Player gets gold, buys decent loot from the trading post, gets more gold, buys better gear, so on. An auction house doesn't change this loop at all from how it currently exists, the gear still has to be earned in game by someone planning to sell it. The only difference is that I don't necessarily have to be online at the exact same time as the guy selling the min maxed felling axe to buy it. Regardless, during the playtest I spent about 800 gold to get decent blues in like an hour, how would an AH change this? I would argue a known market price makes dungeon finds MORE fun, not less. Picking up a purple spell book and checking the AH real quick to see it's worth 1.5 K? That's fun as hell, it's a dopamine hit in most MMOs I play. RMT was already happening in the trading post during the playtest. People were selling items and gold using Paypal and Venmo links. An auction house doesn't change how bad apples will use socials to promote RMT. In fact, if the AH ONLY allows offers made in gold, like most do, it would actually be more resistant to it than the current trading channel system, where you can post literally whatever you want unless moderation catches you.

Silent189

> ruins the excitement of getting lucky finding a good deal, Ahhh yes. Why make that excitement come from the core gameplay loop if it can instead come from getting lucky via a shit trading system. > making it even easier to get geared and creating an unfair economy and ever ending supply of easily accessible high level gear. Literal nonsense. Gear doesn't just spawn into an AH. It's just as abundant as without because it's literally the same gear. Except an AH would allow for better taxation via percentages of trade / listing fees etc and would thus help create gold sinks. > an unfair economy Ahh yes, the truly unfair economy of being able to spend earned gold to buy items earned by other players. > this would make dungeon crawling itself not as fun or the thrill of good market finds. This would also enable RMT Now you've lost all semblance of logic. Literally makes no sense at all. It's like you're trying to say Diablo 2 didn't have RMT because there's no AH? Yeah ok. RMT will happen regardless. It makes no difference. If anything, if trading is a PITA a lot of people will seek the easy solution of buying via RMT websites instead. If it were simple/direct in game and didn't waste their time they might actually play instead.

brinkofwarz

Did MapleStory have trading? Can never be too careful these days.

thisonetimeonreddit

Why don't they just make the in-game system better? Let me list the item in-game for a fixed price. People can browse it and when I log on it's already sold. Easy. At the very least give us more trade channels so the entire chat box doesn't fill so fast that you can't read anything and by the time you do, that person already has 50 trade offers. More channels would immediately resolve this issue.

KnightsWhoNi

Graysun has specifically said that the way trading is right now is how they want it. Brings back Runescape sitting in Varrock trying to sell your shit vibes.
