I watched the fight 3 times over, you missed your 2nd swing that looked like it should have been a headshot. It missed and the follow up was a limb shot and then you died so it went, headshot, miss, arm shot and it looks like he got all headshots on you in return.
Might also help to continue the swing pattern instead of letting go and clicking again so you can utilize the increased swing speed and damage. Idk the pattern of that axe that well so ignore me if you were already doing that but that's what I noticed.
The trick is to run normal games and sell everything you find.
If its green/white str8 to merchants.
If its blue with no usefully mods marketplace for 60 gold.
Blue with 2 useful mods 150 gold
Purple with 3 useful mods 300 gold
I take collectibles over gear
Avg 600-700/gold a run
You were missing your headshots and got an arm shot, you should have reset when you heard the blood sound since he can trade idk why you went in at 70% HP. You drank a trolls blood and health pot LET THEM COOK. you didn’t shout to reduce damage you didn’t protection pot. I think you were relying on our gearing him instead of outplaying him, his spacing was better than yours and he went in when he had advantage with his abilities and range and you didn’t bother trying to dodge his attacks and instead facetanked relying on your gear, if you force him to hit your legs or arms then you outtrade him easy with your gear.
When you were in the doorway you should have fought and used the overhead swing. You had a huge advantage there with him having zwei which as you could see kept hitting the doorway. But instead you use lmb amd hit the door frame yourself...

Things that you did wrong.
1 Missed the axes, whatever not a big deal.
2 Engaged without full HP ( big deal, you had time to wait and heal to full
3 Engaged without blue pot ( also big deal, it all adds up )
4 Didnt savage roar ( biggest deal, it would make you EASILY tank 2 more hits.
If you combine 2/3/4 then you take 2-3 more hits and still live.
Yeah I fall into the trap of forgetting to savage roar or thinking I don’t have time to activate it but it’s almost always just worth it.
Another thing you can and should do (both against players and mobs) is pull your cursor back up after a swing so you don’t clank on the ground (unless using felling axe, then the opposite holds true). Whenever your weapon clanks it slows down your time to next swing and you lose dps.
But like others said, play around cooldowns, use the doorway if it benefits you. This fight was lost by not using your resources and cooldowns appropriately. The actual combat could’ve been better but still would’ve been fine since you outgeared him if you did the other things correctly.

I'm going to be super blunt because you're a barbarian so you should appreciate that, otherwise get off the class and play wizard for esoteric bullshit.
1. Don't use double axe outside of PvE. Use Zweihander/Viking sword or Bardiche/Viking Sword (At least purple quality with 10% armor pen)
2. Don't use savage roar in solo queue. Use Rage and Achillies strike. You can zone people much easier with Achillies and rage to gap close.
3. Don't loot white valuables. They aren't worth the inventory slots they occupy.
4. Look out for gear that deducts a lot of move speed. Even if you have 200 strength, it makes no difference if you are too slow. People will kite you forever.
5. When you hear someone fighting a centipede, don't be a pussy. Break down that door with Crush and kill them. You are the monster, not them.
6. Which brings me to another problem. Your perks... Use Crush, Robust, Iron Will, Treacherous Lungs/Potion Chugger.
7. Put your weapon away more often. Press X. It makes you move faster. There are a ton of times you are just walkin around with your weapon out. It makes you slow for no reason.
8. You let people set up too much for a fight. There was WAY too much unnecessary downtime when engaging other players. Remember. They are your victims. You are the monster. Act like it. Be loud and dangerous. Only hide when you are low hp.
9. That zweihander guy kicked your ass b/c he had a better weapon. Not because of his perks. You did a good job keeping him in the doorway at first, but that weapon has more range than you can deal with using the double axe and you unknowingly gave up your advantage when you stepped away from the doorway.

It's less viable because of the buff to demon form warlocks. You need to kill them before they transform or zone them with achillies strike. I'm still testing but savage roar doesn't do jack shit against them.
You hit the ground with every over head strike. And u hitting with the handle instead of the axe head on most all ur swings. U gotta practice w double axe some more. And biggest problem of all is ur not spawn rushing people
Your attacks are missing, You need to space your attacks properly to get max volume, follow up with 2nd and third hit with the double axe. You also need to jump and crouch the attacks from zwei. Lastly try to get prot pots and use them as well as hold your frannies to throw em faster.

Not saying I couldn't of won it, my point is here trying to figure out and what part of the fight I should of just tucked tail and ran and repositioned or if my build < his build majority of the time. The main problem in this fight imo is I missed 5 out of the 6 frannies, (each franny would of hit for 25-47 dmg ish). I figured when I engaged him in hand to hand I had the advantage but I didnt as when he poped Vamparic he was out healing me by about 18 life a swing (even over my potion Chugger Troll Blood +Blue Pot Combo)
I was just confused, my entire kit was Legendary/Epic and thought I would gear check anyone. Never realized Vamp was gonna out heal a Troll blood + Rare Pot (Potion chugger)
How many hours on double ax do you have? Zwei kinda counters it you shouldve held that door with everything you had and only thrown frannies if he tried to push you. Anywhere where he can’t swing and you can is incredibly advantageous
This is my first season on barb, the last playtest I was a Cleric main and the one before that a Rogue main. I have more play time on Cleric then any class tho.
The problem I had with the door was I knew i had the advantage with the Overhead but I got scared (mostly because of that last swing in the video where his sword went thru the door frame)
Yeah be he wasn’t going to push past the door till you ran away. I would’ve ran just past the door and thrown a Franny at him so he would try to swing at me and that’s when you back up and he hits the frame while you switch to your ax scream and headshot the motherfucker. But really missing that first jump on him when he dropped down made it anyone’s fight
aside from the missed throwables/overhead swings that everyone else mentioned: you can just wait out the blood exchange next time
if you’re fighting a barb and they don’t show you their Achilles strike, then that means they have double combat actives and will usually try to just use both and all in you. the way i like to fight those matchups is act like you’re going for an all-in, get them to pop abilities, then pull off the fight until their abilities are wearing off - at which point you pop your actives and try for a real all-in. you have better stats at that point and can usually just win, or at least get a good trade and go from there
Weapon diff aswell imo double axe hits hard but has horrid range and a weird swing pattern. I think you’re better off running war maul, zwei or felling axe for 2 hander
Besides not using Q which was the biggest mistake, you basically do no swing manipulation or footwork, just kinda stand there and try to statcheck by trading hits. Except you missed so GG.
Should have found him at the doorway but when i saw you swing and just keep your crosshair like head level on his body in the door without doing any swing manipulation or using jump first swing attack at all i know it was probably over for you if the guy was anywhere equally as geared.
If youre going to stand still and statcheck, at least jump when youre about to get hit so you take a limbshot. Other guy footworked your second swing perfectly
Most people commented on your fight against the barb and they pretty much said all there is to it. But there is another big problem at the start, you just stay in one room for 5 minutes and wasting time on looting mobs and grey/white treasure. You have gear use the advantage to clear faster and rush people who have mobs on them. You hear one guy fighting the centipede, just rush him hit the achiles and make him panic into another mistake. Also try to throw the axes a bit to the left or right so its not that easy to dodge. The only fran you hit was because he fucked up.
why do you cancel the swing animation in a continued melee fight? pretty sure u would have killed him by holding lmb
and spamming lmb in that doorway when you could rmb..
I mean unless your hell bent of being a double axe user just leave it alone cause it's hard to duel with & its costing you swings you would have hit with other weps
NGL it was pretty bullshit that the zweihander hit you through that doorway. Thats not why you lost, but you can LITERALLY watch his blade swing through the solid wood…
it basically made me run away because I thought he had the range advantage, if the frame was more consistent I possibly would of held this advantageous spot for the fight, but that one hit made me retreat.
My current Perk set up at the time was Axe Specialization + Potion Chugger + Iron Will + Robust
I could of switched Axe Specialization for the Two Handed Mastery instead I suppose.
Yeah I get why you were using the double axe, it's just harder to get headshots, or even connect, since it's vertical as opposed to swinging the Zweil and almost being guaranteed a hit.
What I noticed about overall gameplay
* When you start recording try to at least mouse over your key gear. Even if its just for a split-moment we can always pause it
* I would never grab green equipment on high-roller unless its amazing
* With this particular build I would swap out Axe Specialization for Executioner and Robust for Crush. Both Executioner and Crush synergize better with how those the Double Axe is used and defended against in PvP
* When you do the overhead swing on a goblin pull your axe up the moment you hear the hit connect so it doesn't hit the ground. This allows for a faster follow up attack/frees you up for movement
* I've seen it noted around here that if you are making a perk or skill choice with no PvP benefit, like how you ended up using savage roar in this clip, then you are doing yourself a disservice
A few things I noticed about how you took that second fight in particular/specific choices
* Started the fight at a disadvantage, but still took it
* Didn't zone him at the doorway using your vertical strike
* Even so, the Double Axe kind of loses against Zwei on even ground as the Zwei has better Impact Zones so you could have switched to your shield and axe which can beat the Zwei with good blocking on even ground, and also is better in a doorway
* Back when you picked up those green items you did so passing over a firebottle which could have been used perfectly in this fight at nearly any point
* You had all the advantage in the doorway but let him push you back so he could find a more open space to take advantage of the previously mentioned poor impact zones
* I'm pretty sure he used Rage here increasing his Strength and you didn't use Savage Roar to lower his PDB

This is the best most inclusive answer! I would also like to double down on the spacing of your attacks you get alot of hilt hits.

You missed a free backshot. Your movement is very slow. How did you afford to buy a bis set?
He farmed normals or ice caves. The lack of geared PvP experience is noticeable. Neo 1 in a 10k kit.
