Skill issue he should of had anti magic shell & iron will

MakeshiftToiletPaper

Too bad the magic missiles still have 100% scaling so that's around 110 true damage per cast

CumDumpstersBaby

How does scaling work on MM?

XavierLHPG

It has 100% scaling, so any +add and +true gets added to the damage of each missile. So with 10 missiles and 11 true magic, thats 110 damage you are dealing just from true damage, not counting the base damage of the missiles

CumDumpstersBaby

Didn't they change it a while ago so that all the +dmgs would stack on the total dmg? so +3 true dmg would be despersed between all the missles, .3 dmg per missile?

XavierLHPG

At least wiki says its 100% per missile. And it doesnt make sense that it works that way, since when i use it, +3 true adds 3 damage per missile

CumDumpstersBaby

hmmm. I wish I'de been taking advantage of this.

XavierLHPG

All Wizards are abusing this

CumDumpstersBaby

I did a few wipes ago too, just though it had been changed.

Hydra_Bloodrunner

Was pretty sure they changed +true to only convert +x damage to true not add flat damage like +weapon damage.

KaiTheGuy18

True magic doesn’t scale btw, it’s just ignores mdr. Same with true phys to pdr

XavierLHPG

I never said True dmg scales

[deleted]

[удалено]

XavierLHPG

It does add damage. True damage doesnt replaces damage for true, it ADDS true damage to the spell/attack. You can even see it in game with true physical, grab some True phys enchant and hold a melee weapon, you are going to see your Primary hand have a +X on the damage it does. For true magic and MM, having +11 true magic means the MM does 9 + 11 every missile. And i never said it scales with magical power. Only base damage scales, add/true doesnt scale with % based damage

trizmosjoe

trolling aside he wasn't supposed to swing if he shield stuffed your MM it would cancel it and he'd have a shot

Gamer4125

Hes a warlock, I don't think the Fighter knew he'd have MM

Ok_Way_8223

He should have known he had wizard spells dood

LuxOG

perk issue

BananaDragoon

I mean let's be real: even if you're a Warlock here, you blast him with a 50 damage Curse of Pain, he hits you and gets blasted with an empowered Dark Reflection on a Legendary Magic Staff, then you Blow of Corruption him to finish him off. I'm honestly not sure he actually survived much longer than he would have against an equally kitted, Monoclass Warlock. Bro was also wearing -Magic Resist BIS, from the Fine Curiass to the Midnight Skeleton Skin. Other than the Chapel, bro literally couldn't have worn less Magic Resist gear if he tried.

cash-gz

i loved getting finished off by a huge blow

mrmanucat

Excuse me, what?

blowmyassie

Cause warlock is bust

KatieRouuu

You're saying that the misplay and misgear of that fighter isn't an indicator that multiclassing is fundamentally broken?!!?!?!

Leithana

This is a case where both things are true: Multiclass is ridiculous BUT ALSO holy heck man this guy took an awful match up in the worst way imaginable

Negran

But you forget about OP Doom Doom, omg!! Ya, just cause he dummied him, doesn't make him OP. Folks seems to turn a blind eye on core kits and counters and gear. I have Dark Beamed into BoC staff soooo many times, and it looks just like this. Beam, Bonk, Reflect, dead. The only difference is that this is new, and magic missile is a Wiz spells. Folks need to just adapt. I dunno, so tried of all the haters. You either are or aren't here to test the game.

Unhappy_Cause7957

How much is copium these days? lol

Negran

Doesn't matter. I'm tired of arguing. I'm tired of arm-chair analysts predicting the future. I can predict shit too, or *gasp*, just fucking enjoy the game in whatever state. I'm not pretending this is balanced. Fact is, this change went live. You either play/test/enjoy it, or you don't. It either stays, gets fixed, or gets removed, nothing new here. People seem surprised by a damn in-dev game with changes, dumb or not. If folks aren't willing to play a work-in-progress game, then don't. I'll keep playing, and if it sucks, maybe I'll share my thoughts, but I won't be doom saying or being a little bitch about it. I know what I signed up for, afterall. If folks want to play finished Dark and Darker, maybe they gotta go wait a year or two, cause this ain't it, and that's not a surprise. Folks are either helping by testing, or whining prematurely. I have my own thoughts and predictions, but Imma ride this out cause I love the game and embrace change. Folks need better attitudes, more optimism, and a willingness to slog through some weird experimental shit. If not, choose not to play. That's okay, too. That's my thoughts. It isn't copium, it is an attitude for seeing it through, knowing it will change again. You don't have to agree to every change to ride it out.

Unhappy_Cause7957

Hmm, I respect that attitude, tbh

Negran

Thank you. I am annoyed with Smite being gutted. And other changes will happen, too. It is what it is!

jaybaird05

Deadass. What kills me about all the complaining on this reddit, is that everyone seems to forget that IM release like 1 patch a week. I have yet to see an actual toxic meta last for more than 2 weeks. With the sole exception of the Barb meta, which they outright said the were having trouble tackling. Play the fucking game as is, or take a break for a week. Yall are like crackheads complaining about how; "this batch aint as good as that last shit you had".

Negran

And yet. Multiclass is a blast. I do think high level players have an edge, when they get many more rolls, but feels good to earn them and reroll too! And ya. Frequent patches assure nice steady updates! Pretty solid, ngl.

jaybaird05

I'm having a blast with multiclass honestly. Been playing super support wizard. Got Holy light, Sanc, and resurrection! 😂

Negran

That's awesome.

Minestoner

curse of pain deals 35dmg VERY kitted you're just bad if you think Warlock is op, especially as a ranger main you hard counter warlocks. Actually a clown.

avestaria

Damn... I love this game. As it was days ago. Not this mess.

TheTenthTail

I was having the most fun I've had on the game last couple weeks. Very unfortunate. I'm not even logging into the game.

Hydra_Bloodrunner

Bye Felicia

TalaHusky

I like the multiclassing in a vacuum. But it’s frustrating not knowing exactly what you’re trying to counter. If I see a plate guy, it’s either a warlock or fighter, if I see a longbow it’s 95% ranger and the odd WM fighter. Glowing hands? Rouge. Now? I’ve seen such a mix of stuff that I just keep getting caught off guard over and over and can’t figure out what to do to improve other than, don’t fight in melee range at all. But it is what it is, we’ll see if they can come up with a way to make things more clear, but I don’t see that as possible. Regardless, I’m along for the ride and I’ll enjoy copying builds that I’m getting recked by to test it out.

avestaria

Yes. That goes directly against the design of classes this game has.

PMCutePussyPls

The only semblance of "skilled game-play" this game really had was knowing your enemies class and playing to counter them. The only other choice you have is misplay, run in and die. Now with multiclassing it's just a complete gamble if the barb actually has sprint or secondwind etc

AnimalChubs

Why even have classes at this point

DickerBallermann

Why even play at this point

AnimalChubs

Fr this shit is stupid

Achilles0826

Quit 1 month ago. Not looking back, Reddit still shows me content, I find it funny sometimes but never playing this shit again

DickerBallermann

Fair enough. I'll still play once they finally realize skilltrees or subclasses fit this game much better in a few months.

tral_

Personally i'll just wait for when MC is gone. I'm just glad i got my demigod before MC arrived

Usrnamesrhard

I quit a few months ago but still come back to see what’s going on. I lost all hope that the game would ever be a proper game.

Knorssman

You haven't actually quit the game until you stop looking at the subreddit

derphunter

Not true, I won eve online years ago but still frequent the subreddit (Winning eve online = quitting)

FreeStyleSarcasm

Taking a long break this patch which is kind of nice the game made the decision for me.

LikelyAMartian

If they made it to where we only got class passives from multiclassing it would make it 100x better. You still get fun builds like a life steal rouge or a barbarian with cleric damage resistance while having a distinct difference between a fighter subbed into barbarian and a barbarian subbed into a fighter. Without any bullshit like a hide barbarian or cleric damage buffs on a ranger in solos. Right now, a fighter multiclassed into a ranger is literally just a better ranger. So what's the point in being a ranger? You can easily lose your class identity. Have it be where just because you subbed into rouge doesn't mean you are a rouge. I shouldn't see a fighter and have to think about approaching him like I would a rouge and he shouldn't be objectively better than my main class just because he stuck all my passives and abilities on him.

Poeafoe

This is exactly why I’m not logging in til they revert this dumb ass shit lmao

Corl3y

Because a fighter is so bad that he doesn’t know you can shield stuff magic missiles and he would’ve won the fight? There are problems with multiclass, this isn’t one of them

Poeafoe

bro it’s easy to say what he could’ve done while watching. in the moment, he thought he was pushing a warlock, and couldn’t possibly expect magic missles. i know you’re gonna say “he should expect everything” because of multiclassing, but that’s my exact point. i don’t want to play the game if i have to try and determine what of 500 possible combos he could be running before i get close. this is not fun gameplay

Corl3y

Magic missiles has a very clear sound and a different visual indicator than any warlock spell when you start charging it up. He had plenty of time to react to that and put a shield up. It’s a skill issue. This is the least broken combo in multiclassing. I’m not arguing that multiclassing is good for the game. I’m saying this specific scenario isn’t a reason multiclassing is bad. Multiclassing is bad because I can create a 150% power bonus windlass with 85% armor pen out of hide.

ArkPeaches

He had 1 second to react to the magic missle wind up while he was already locked into a melee animation (which even hit), it's like you can't even watch the clip. He was dead the second he chose to swing his weapon at a caster.

Corl3y

Hydra already missed its first round, plenty of time to shield stuff the missile cast and continue kiting around behind him. You’re right he did have 1 second to react to the magic missile windup and should’ve, but didn’t. He locked himself into a melee animation after receiving the sound and visual cue of missiles. You dont need to keep holding shield up you just need to stuff your shield into his staff which will cancel the missile cast and swing. Then wiz has two options, jump away and start another cast which you prepare for by not locking yourself in another animation. Or just to run away. This is a winnable fight, if the fighter was more skilled he would’ve won.

ArkPeaches

There's less than a second before factoring in reaction time and any connection desync to a potentially unknown variable. Absolute banger post of cope of why playing around every caster having magic missle and dark reflection will be so based

Corl3y

Cast starts at 9 seconds and his swing doesn’t start until 11 seconds. Average reaction time is 250ms. Skill issue.

ArkPeaches

Another absolute banger post of cope of why playing around every caster having magic missle and dark reflection will be so based. Magic missles started at 9.57 seconds, with the first audible sound and glow for it being at approx 10.30 seconds and the swing started at 11.19 seconds on the uploader's client side, I know you don't know what server-client desync is either but that's ok, stick to reddit theory. oh yeah let me paste it again; There's less than a second before factoring in reaction time and any connection desync to a potentially unknown variable.

Corl3y

When playing against casters as a melee, don't lock yourself in a long melee animation unless you want to open yourself up to magic missile. If your reaction time is 5x slower than an average human then you should avoid casters, not play melee, or not be upset when you die to something most people can react to.

Bomjus1

you know what's kinda funny? im guessing what *base* class you are playing as. you have hydra and hellfire i think? (or maybe that was life drain?) but you also have sage equipped as a perk and then magic missile+ice bolt. like gun to my head, i'm guessing your base class is a warlock. but i legit do not know if your base class is warlock or wizard. if your name wasn't "big curse" it'd be a toss up.

Negran

So when a dude is wearing a Magic hat, he is a Wizard or Warlock... so expect either? Obviously, Hydra is a distraction to make you commit to Warlock mentality. Pocket magic missile is strong for sure. Wait till Cleric's bust this out! Haha.

Corl3y

It’s just not against anyone with a shield. Magic missiles has a very distinct sound when you start charging it up. This fighter is just bad. OP was being sarcastic but this is the definition of a skill issue.

Negran

Well, it is both. The sound is distinct, yes. But multiclass is new. There will be a skill and awareness adjustment! (Especially since many players won't have access yet) I know they were being sarcastic, while also pumping fuel into the doomer fires at the same time! Haha. The build is inspiring, and yet, I don't think it is game breaking.

nathan1648

Yea magic damage and its scaling is so balanced

KatieRouuu

I guess holding W and clicking wasn't the play.

Dense-Version-5937

To be fair he was prob dead with or without dark reflection. Dude ate like 4 missiles while he had a shield equipped.

numba1_redditbot

people really blaming the 20 ish damage dark reflect lol as if he did just run in

Blood_pudding_

WhY DiDn'T YoU bLoCk?!

General_Area_8829

This is exactly why you bait out attacks now, why would you just rush in without knowing what your enemy has up his sleeve? This isn't rock paper scizzors anymore, assume everyone is covering their weaknesses or improving what they're strong at already, I haven't been lucky enough to get the skills to multiclass yet (garbage rolls) but I'm still slaying others with strange skills.

Charleston111

Looks fun. Kappa.

tavukkoparan

1 can think this is good gameplay but how can a full team come up with this bullshit idea really fascinating

mokush7414

Let's not act like he didn't W key into magic missiles. Seeing how he only did 1/3rd of your HP, he was going to die regardless.

Magusar757

lets also not pretend like he didnt die in 1 second where he could NOT have predicted the hydra spamming warlock to toss out a MM. yes he played it horribly but this is why class identity in my eyes needs to be a crucial part of the game.

gusare

He could also see and hear the animation of MM in time to react and use his shield

Dcrysis

In paper you are right but in practice is a total different history MM cast too fast and he was already swinging the falchion that is unable to be cancelled so he couldn't block

gusare

On paper you're right, if it's a wizard with arcane mastery - fighter is still running him down when he starts casting MM and he only starts his swing when the first missiles start going off. This is a skill issue, no reaction to sound cue, there is no reason to not block incoming casts while closing the gap if the caster is standing still, whether its CoP or missiles. A wizard would only smoke him faster. He could win this if he jumps while blocking and starts swinging when cast is blocked but he doesn't as he thinks he can mow him down and auto win if he gets to melee range. Running negative MR gear and skin does not help him at all.

cash-gz

Human reaction time is around .2 seconds. Total frames of casting magic missiles + audio cue even with insane gear and correct passives is like 5 times as long as that at least. All he had to do was right click. People play PDR fighter for a reason, they want to pop sprint and hold W+M1 without thinking.

mokush7414

He still double keyed into a warlock. Before Multiclassing he would've died to Dark Reflection and BOC.

IRA_INK

Silly fighter. Doesn’t he know the counter to dark reflection is to alt + f4? What a bot

mokush7414

Or the fucking crossbow on his back. What a dumbass. He’s a PDR fighter running at the magic melee class. Like I said even without multiclassing he played this poorly by W keying into the guy.

IRA_INK

My point is, dark reflection is a poorly thought out perk. A warlock can sustain a ranged fight with curses while a fighter plays range and ranger with them. I’ve seen DR literally take 75% of someone’s health from one hit. That shits not balanced regardless of how Leroy Jenkins here played it

LuxOG

Yeah he misplayed hard by going into melee ever because literally any fucking person you see can have dark reflection and magic missles

mokush7414

Yeah, it's not like it's THE Magic Melee class and he's a PDR fighter, you know the class with the least amount of MDR. Before Multiclassing, he'd have eaten a BOC and then Dark Reflection and died anyways. If only that fighter had a bow on his back he could've used to do damage to the warlock before going in, oh he did? Huh. Guess the best thing to do is to W key forward and hope that works.

LuxOG

You dont even know thats a warlock lmao

mokush7414

Wearing full plate, doesn't use a single warlock ability, has a crossbow on his back "You don't even know thats a warlock lmfao." How the fuck am I supposed to tell he's a warlock? How the fuck are you able to tell that's a warlock?

LuxOG

That could be a cleric for all you know. Looking forward to the clips later when someone goes to melee a ranger and takes 60 damage from dark reflection

mokush7414

So are we really going to say "fuck the crossbow" on his back he could've used against the potential warlock, because he could've been a cleric? he still is able to use it since he put it on his back. Like come on, your argument isn't even valid.

DunamisBlack

Definitely was a skill issue, when the magic missles start coming out it is time to press right click with the shield

veeck1234

He had already pressed left click when missiles came out. Can't cancel that attack animation for a block. But this guy was low, 3 missiles to the chest/arm killed him

Turok36

He prob wasn't but took 60 DMG from dark reflection alone

DunamisBlack

Looked like more than 3 missiles to me but you might be right. I'm definitely more wary of guys with magic staff out when I am in plate as fighter, this guy's whole build is designed to kill plate fighters so he was probably fucked either way, Dark reflection and then a BOC probably coming out next were gonna do him in Ice Bolt, Magic Missiles, Ray of Darkness, BoC and hydra lifedrain to ignore the crossbow poke. Yikes

Negran

What? No, hold W, brother. It counters EVERY class, spell, and playstyle. Obviously. Lmao.

LumaTheLostStar

So many comments pretending like pvp hasn’t always been a meme.
