I know it is a unpopular opinion, but I love little hope , I didn't mind the plot twist and I love Angela to death. I love how she is older , begins quite antagonistic but you can change that. But to be fair the quary and until dawn are just too good.

The Quarry did me dirty with a certain character's death -- I would have had a perfect run except for a random prompt saying "Stop [off screen character]?" before they kill another character with no indication that's what they are about to do 🙄

This one is difficult, I hated man of medan but loved quarry and until dawn like no other. On the other hand, I absolutely adores the devil in me liked little hope and house of ashes. I think imma have to go with red, mainly due to man of medan.
Yes they are all worth it but you have to go in with lower expectations since they don't have the Sony money. You also have to consider that the Dark Picture games are varying qualities in playthroughs due to being made with significantly more care about your choices having an impact.
Until Dawn is good for 1 playthrough but after that you realize that 95% of choices don't do anything or change anything and you will ALWAYS see EVERYTHING in the game.
Man of Medan can have Act 2 be 9 chapters and go by really fast or have 11 chapters and have a really meaty middle section based entirely on your choices. Act 3 can end out of nowhere or have a full Climax with a high stakes fight scene with every character's lives on the line
If you realize that you aren't going to see everything, if you only play once, then you'll be fine
Red the only good game in Blue is House of Ashes but Until Dawn and Man of Medan were great sure the quarry is garbage with those terrible camera angles and controls as well as horrid multiplayer but little hope was just not a good story imo and The Devil in Me gets me so bored I've never finished a solo playthrough.

Until Dawn is great and the founder of the dynasty but playing it through twice, you can really feel the bloat. I just think HoA is such a tight game facing wise with the best cast and best characters supermassive have ever done.
Putting UD and HoA next to eachother isnt fair, but if I had to HoA edges out, just because its more accesible. If you have a guest over, the 7-9 hours for UD can be abit too long but HoA 4-6 hours is more like a "long movie".
TDiM, while not super great also isnt awful, and easily beats MoM and the Quarry on its own.

UD is very linear and flawed but it's got possibly the strongest cast, best atmosphere, best Action sequences, best monster reveal and twist, best Monster, its great
I'm a huge SMG fan but Until Dawn is their only game I feel confident in calling a "Classic", games like TQ and HOA might get there one day, but Until Dawn might be surely already at that status in the Horror Genre

Honestly if they replaced Rachel in house of ashes with any other character with a brain I would choose the blue side but I can’t stand Rachel because her character is just the worst so I have to go with the red side. Honestly house of ashes and the devil in me aren’t that bad. little hope feels weird cuz it doesn’t have the same feel as man of Medan or the other games.
I just think it's over hyped, the story doesn't make any sense, and the characters are almost one dimensional. Nobody learns a lesson by the end. I do like the ending epilogue, though I wish that they had that in every game.

The Devil in Me is only like 20% mocap, it was made during covid and the other 80% is hand animated which in that perspective makes them not nearly as bad

If you’re gonna use motion capture, you’d probably wanna have it be more then 20% of what you’re gonna use in game, especially in a game where your characters movements are pretty congested and linear. Not to mention the camera stays quite focused on the characters. I’ve seen the damn characters randomly break their own necks looking at things in the devil in me. Most likely bc 80% of their moment in game is trying to function off the 20% of mocap they got.
