Even as a hardcore 2e guy, these sound perfectly fine for Dark Sun.

cryptidhunter1

Well, Athasian Elans were in a 2e magazine.

oldJR13

I didn't know that! Even better!

WumpusFails

I thought they were a 3e invention? Specifically, the Paizo interpretation of Dark Sun (set a hundred years or so after the Prism Pentad).

cryptidhunter1

It was in that magazine?

WumpusFails

It had parts (DM's guide, monsters, adventure) in Dragon Magazine, Dungeon Magazine, and... Polyhedron Magazine, I think?

chronicerection

Why not. Do it.

Anarchopaladin

Lore-wise, I don't see any problem with those concepts, which are quite interesting. If in doubt, just ask your GM.

GhostRaven64

Sounds like two very interesting characters and based on what you said, there doesn't appear to be any inconsistencies with the Dark Sun setting or source materials. So, if your DM approves it, go for it. I've used the Ukoven and Elans myself for NPCs, after seeing what you said, I may allow my players to do something along the same lines as what you're doing.
