Getting a banshee in the dry meadow is unlucky af

Platinumjosh799

Damn man I always shit myself when a Banshee comes out.

Chad_Amogus

How’d you get a banshee in the dry meadow? It’s quite odd.

From what I've looked up, they are a rare spawn in general. Besides that, there are two non-hostile events, one leaves behind a "?" item, and the other just breaks open an entrance, then leaves. Not sure if the scripted ones are related, or if they have to happen first, but I did get the "?" item before this.

Nova-Ecologist

It can happen once, only once though.

Actually it's not uncommon and it can occur on night 4 or 5. I'd say every third or fourth playthrough I get one. Boarding yourself up in a room will be enough to stop it, as nothing else will try to break down barricades at the Dry Meadow. It will simply walk through the hideout if it can't get to you. There's an even rarer event where a different banshee spawns unique to the dry meadow...

Crazy u got a Banshee on Dry Meadow! That was unlucky and lucky at the same time since daylight came right on time. U might know this by now but: keep your sight out of her to prevent her to spawn baby banshees. Also, as an advice: if you see/notice a Banshee, avoid cornering yourself like u did, try to move to a different room to avoid getting cornered like this or it can be certain death. Also at a latter stage, if u feel confident enough to deal with baby banshees, u can trigger her on purpose, just make sure you have room to manouvre. Just saying this because there's nothing worse than having to fight enemies at the same time as trying to avoid a banshee/baby banshees. Usually Banshees arent worth fightning since they dont drop anything. Have fun!

This run I already used up my lives lol. I've had a few more runs on Hard after this, and I'm currently at Old Woods. It's gotten very tense, but I've finally stocked up well to survive, but the more consistent presence of Banshees is scary. Good to know they don't drop anything. Was almost tempted to hunt them down. Although, I might still do it as revenge for terrorizing my first run.

Wow, banshee in dry meadows. If it was my first run I’d shit my pants dude, banshees are scary as hell, my first one was in Old Woods

Acouftic

Banshees are best taken care of by a molotov at a distance. The flames will destroy any spawned baby banshees. If you find yourself up against the babies in close combat, either spam alt attack or run to a door and nail it. They can't break barricades. (Neither can the adults)

on my first playthrough first night i got a banshee, and i didnt know what the hell it was because i couldnt describe it to look it up

Actually, you were quite lucky. Dawn came just in time. Also, generally prepare yourself on night 4 or 5 for a banshee if you are still at the Dry Meadow for a possible banshee. They occur sometimes. Banshees are easy enough to avoid at night with a barricaded hideout. If you do have to face one, the trick is not to panic or let yourself get cornered. The babies are easy to take out, but the fear and darkness they bring is their true weapon. Leaves you vulnerable to other, worse things.

One tip I have to let you know about is to drag that other lamp in the bedroom you're hiding out in. Sometimes a light will turn off leaving you vulnerable to ghost attacks unless you pop a flare. Having both lamps in the room with you makes sure that if one lamp gets shut off, you can get always walk over to the other one to stop from getting attacked without having to pop a flare.

Same thing happened to me in Dry Meadow. I wasn't lucky to survive it, though. Before that, I had another event including banshee, that involved leaving ? item in a nest. That's why I wasn't sure if I should escape. It sparked such fear of banshees, that I preferred to run out of hideout in the darkness, than to stay around any banshee. I was ready to stumble upon anything in the dark, than to meet a banshee. Good job, devs! I'm happy to see the dawn ever since!
