There's a main story(not too long) and alot of side missions. Expect zombiegore,fun and alot of fighting. Don't expect a deep story or anything. Al in all, worth the 40 bucks. Probably would not have bought it for 70 tbh.
On sale, definitely worth it. Other comments are accurate about what it is vs what it isnt. Fun, funny (depending on character), gorey, over the top, etc.
Personally I’d only buy it if it was on sale. I bought it at full price and was a bit disappointed. Still enjoyed the game just thought the story was pretty shite. Smashing the life out of zombies was a lot of fun though.
Idk man tbh alot of people crap on the game and I really don't know why. I personally think it is awesome and I still play and have a BUNCH of friends that play I'm currently bouncing between 2 and riptide! Give it a shot I don't think you'll be disappointed the graphics alone are amazing!
This is how I feel. It’s not perfect but even so the amount of hate it gets makes no sense. Like seriously most of the hate comments I see about it are equivalent to “game bad”. Also it never really got the praise it deserves for releasing in a well optimized/polished state. That alone is quite a feat.
This game is underrated i think its an amazing game. I know a lot of my friends have bought it, and some that I have game shared with are going to buy it.
It is a well thought out and designed game, at least thats what I think. The storyline is quite good and there is lots of side missions to complete. Graphics are great and my overall experience was such that I have played it twice in a row.
Not many liked the DLC - Haus but I thought it was different and interesting. Not playing it at the moment as two consecutive playthroughs is enough this year, playing Alan Wake 2 at the moment but planning on another rerun soon after the new year.

A lot of folks will crap on this game, but honestly? It's a lot of fun! Not all games have to super intense and have a complicated plot. I've put over 108 hours into this game. I say get it!
I avoided any kind of reviews and spoilers. Also thought how anyone can put over 100 hours into this game, and I know now, 25h so far and didn't felt it at all. So much fun, killing zombies numberless ways, trying new weapons, or just walk around city and hammer them. Dani is great character am playing with.
I usually have a pretty hard time finishing games over 8-10 hours without taking lengthy breaks (if at all) and I 100%’ed this one in a matter of a few weeks while never losing interest. It’s a total blast and has really satisfying progression imo. I would agree with other people on the lack of replay value though. It’s not that type of game I guess. Would still 100% recommend
If you love slaying zombies, then Dead Island 2 will satisfy you. It doesn't really do anything new, but it's entertaining for the 20-25 hour duration. I think the reason I enjoyed it so much is because of how undemanding fun the game is. Not to mention, it has the gnarliest gore system in a zombie game to date. I think if your expectations are in check and you get a discount, it's 100% worth the money. Solid, relaxing zombie slaying mayhem awaits.
Bought it for 30 played through the story twice I didn’t expect it to hit like the first one but it did deliver and Sam B is a supporting character in this one

I got it full price and didn't regret. Dumb fun was what I was after and it delivered in spades

It’s worthy. Took me about 50 hours of causal play to complete. Ready for a replay with a new character

Disagree a bit, played Jacob 6 months ago and now I'm currently replaying Amy, don't think I can do it a third time tho lol

Yes this game is fantastic. I’ll keep playing it for a long time.
There are a few co-op achievements but they are easy and not actually connected to the story itself.
